  1. Interesting.... Did you rate lothar mattheus? Yeah like Michael Owen was known as a skilled player. Back to the game anyway, McCarthy missed in a big way.
  2. Saying that mirallas is a better player than McCarthy is like saying a 50 inch flat screen tv is more important than the bricks that make up the house. Without McCarthy we are weak in midfield
  3. I guess that there is a few years of watching the game before you realise how players like McCarthy allow us to carry players like mirallas. In his role and position there are few equals to McCarthy. If that needs explanation then it's a waste of time doing so.
  4. He has talent if that's what you mean. I personally think McCarthy is our best player.
  5. Woeful keeping, what was Barry doing?
  6. He's a matchwinner. Need a few of them in any team.
  7. Absolutely beautiful goal.
  8. Downloaded a few games on Xbox. Resident evil 4, gta San Andreas, fight night champions, all for around £12. Hit man games were on there and was tempted. By all accounts Resident evil 4 is meant to be awesome. Never played it. Fight night is a hope of finally finding a good boxing game.
  9. I think everyone is in agreement that last night he had a good game - just as he did against Lille at Goodison. The reality is that after the Lille game he kinda went back to being pedestrian and his touch was poor against Sunderland. Great footballing talent is what I would call Ross Barkley - he needs to get his head right. Great goalscoring talent is what I would call Lukaku - he needs to get his footballing levels right. This isn't a HAF criticises Lukaku thread and post - it recognises that Lukaku had a good game last night - but its a reminder that he has work to do - I have said that in numerous posts. He isn't just going to be a player who pulls footballs out of the sky like Berbatov - he just hasn't got that. His improvement to the level where he will be competent at looking after the ball isn't going to happen overnight either - he will get to somewhere around that level but lets not get carried away. Too many did after the Lille game - he is going to have games where he has lead in his boots, I am not going to be disappointed or surprised when he does as long as we see signs of improvement which we are. The one big thing he has in his locker is his ability to find the net - that is a valuable asset. He just needs to learn to have a "stock" ability to control the ball. By that I mean "a low risk method of getting the ball under" - it may not be pretty but it needs to carry the least risk. 8/10 for Rom last night for me - a good game.
  10. Anyone bought an Xbox One - can you recommend it over the 360 which I rarely play, and is it good as an entertainment system bar games etc?
  11. just proper sad - all those cameras set up for it and the people really did not disappoint did they... That lad in the adidias tracksuit needed a good slap. It reminded me of going to feed the ducks - all scrapping over a piece of bread.
  12. I'll start it off....http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/ps4-driveclub-bundle-289-blackfriday-tesco-2063338

why did RM hesitate to take McCarthy off when he initially pulled up? I do love RM but he needs to get a bit more savvy with the old injuries. Soft tissue injuries all over the place.

That's Kone for ya, hasn't been involved for a year but he gets the boys together for a picture.
  15. Garbutt for me. Huge game for the lad and came through with flying colours. Rom gets plenty of stick from me but but credit where it's due gets second. I want to see him put as much intensity and focus on his all round game as possible, his finishing is top notch.

Yeah I know I seen it Brett as per comment above. Was I going to cloud over it by reinforcing what Clarke Carlisle just said? I wasn't because it was great play and I hate Carlisle. But now you've brought me into it he said "with Lukaku you dont know if it's going to bounce off him or stick"

I'd look at giving garbutt time at left mid in some games.

I'd like to see a couple of young lads come on now we are through. Why risk more soft tissue injuries.

Are you another one with selective reading Brett? See the word "tremendous" by any chance? Right next to finish. If you want to ignore the fact that his touch meant that he actually missed the ball and had to go left to retrieve it then by all means fill ya boots. I said tremendous finlsh ffs. If Tim Howard passed the ball to an opponent but made a world class save from the error would you just forget to mention his stupid pass? Nah didn't think so.

I've said all along McGeady is going to continue on an upward curve. At the moment you will see him at his best in Europe, but next season in the prem he will great.

Are you fuckin kidding me?! I said his finish was great and his finishing isn't in question. His touch is abysmal, he nearly fell over a ball played on the deck to him.

That was Lukaku right there. How did he nearly fuck thatup?! After he recovered what was a miscontrol of a through ball to put him one on one his finish was tremendous. He really has got to sort those feet out, his finishing is as good as I've said.
  24. Carl Froch gets nominated????!!!! Sure they didn't mix him up with Carl Frampton? I really dislike Froch - for a start he ain't all that he is cracked up to be and I can't wait for his arrogant ways to be halted by a big loss. He gets nominated for his fight with George Groves.... says it all.
  25. “We have confirmed Steven has a soft tissue injury,” Menaing an injury to muscle, ligaments or tendons. Which accounts for 95% of all sports injuries....
