I would say the difference between us and Spurs isn't very much.If one or even two of the "big" four slip up next season,then it will Everton and Spurs who are pushing for those places.Maybe we could soon see a"big" six developing.

OK!.....Lets sell Lescott for £10million,buy another talanted central defender from the lower divisions and bank some money!Hang on at the same time we could sell Arteta and Cahill and maybe even get double money on AJ! surely Vaughan and Anichebe are worth a bob or two.......Hell were going to be the richest club in the championship! OK not going to happen!....but how long before Lescotts agent wants to start talking contract extensions....on double his present salary?You can't blame them! everyone else in the prem is doing just the same. How do the teams outside the big four keep there best players?...You tell me!

I would say it's because Carsley has has such a good season for us,that he's playing contract extending games with Everton! He wouldn't leave Everton if we were offering him european football AND a two year contract,for a couple of years relegation battles with Wigan...on less money!! He wants TWO years with us......Moyes knows who he's buying this summer and probably is penny pinching and only wants to give him one! Hence Carsley proves he's ready to leave if he has to by talking to Wigan! Of course only Carsley and Moyes really know whats happening.Should we keep Carsley at all costs?Is he that good? Really depends on who were buying.I like Carsley,but can he have another season like the last one.A really good manager doesn't just have to know who to buy,but also when it's time to sell......like Marcus Bent and Kilbane,ie he got money for players who needed to go.

Plastic seats!....Wooden seats!.....You know for 90mins if the football right you hardly notice.I still think in 5 years time when a lot of teams have moved to their new concrete super domes,with plush seats and nice toilets,their fans will(if were still there)come to Goodison,and yes will obviously taunt us with "what a shit hole",whilst at the same time being envious of the atmosphere and passion of the crowd. And as they troop out of the old stadium that Goodison undoubtedly is.....they will be thinking"yeh well they beat us today!and there above us in the league!and yes they've got a great team at the moment!"......but we've got nice seats back at our wonder stadium.....I bet the Everton fans would swap with us!! If we move,that alone wont make us a better team....just ask Man City fans.

surely most Blues will have been fairly happy with the season.Qualifying for Europe beating the rs,Lescott,AJ and the two young strikers coming through. Yeh sure could have been better.....but then even Chelsea and Man Utd could be saying that. Me! yes I've enjoyed the season,though wished I could have attended more matches! never mind next season!!!! The summer will come and go and August will bring new hope and heartache in equal proportion.....always did always will.How will us Norfolk lads survive without football? Spot of cow tipping and tractor racing will help maybe even a barn dance or two... But come saturdays at 3.00 pm.....I'm going to feel empty.But I wont forget my team! and when you see on the news about crop circles and see one spelling out the name EVERTON.....Then your going to know that I've been counting down the time to that sunny day in August when IT STARTS ALL OVER AGAIN!

The problem with players like Osman,is that he can shoot!he can tackle and at times he's not to light weight.Now getting him to do those things consistantly THAT is the problem! That must lie with the coaches and manager. A few seasons ago Jamie Carrigher was thought of by some rs as only an average squad player.....now he and Gerrard are the first names on the team sheet! An honest rs fan told me he'd never seen a player have to put in so much effort just to complete a simple pass,that was a few seasons ago.I think we have to admit Carrigher is now a pretty dam good defender.Late developer?good coaching?luck?who knows what changed him. Osman will be at Everton next season,if Fernandes and Barton sign(maybe others)and with Arteta,Cahill,Carsley and Neville.....Then Osman to get a game is going to have to make that step up.He will know that.....can he do it? I for one hope so.It can only be good for the club getting young players through the ranks.

Wasn't buying Kroldrup a risk?......likewise VDM!The same could be said for Cahill and Lescott! If we don't buy him and he goes to Newcastle etc one of two things will happen,he will either go on to become an international player and his price will double or he will burn out in a blaze of publicity!........I don't think given a choice of teams he will choose Everton!too much history. If we do get him,he will be no worse than Kroldrup and no better than Arteta. Bellamy proved you never really change when the rs bought him!he'll be gone in the summer. But they will just about get their money back...so worth the risk!maybe. If Barton comes and we sell him on within a short space of time we'd still probably get £3million. So maybe a couple of £million is worth the risk......that he could turn out to be a top player. David Moyes over to you!

I agree getting Arteta to stay could be the differance between us going forwards or dropping back down to be a midtable team. Could that be the case?.....That without Arteta we would suddenly drop to midtable! If so we haven't come as far as we perhaps thought. Though it's obvious that teams need their best players ie Henry,Drogba and Gerrard! How many points have that little lot won their respective teams? So yes Arteta is important.......Lets hope he can get on with Barton!!

Not trying to join this debate!......but just as a piece of history(fairly recent),because it's our proud claim"if you know your history"......Any way 26th May 1985,championship already in the bag,and Everton were faced with an away game against relegation threatened Coventry. With I guess an eye on an up and coming cup final we played what could be described as perhaps not our best team....and by reports at the time seems even the established players didn't exactly give it 100%!!Result Coventry 4 (champions)Everton1. That's half the story,because as a result of this result Coventry were safe,BUT poor old Norwich City were relegated...AND living in Norfolk some Norwich fans still remember that Coventry result and hate us for that!!!!! Dirty game not playing your best team!but will always happen,even we've done it! I can remember Howard Kendall saying he hoped Chelsea wouldn't be wearing their FLIP FLOPS when they played Bolton,when our survival depended on Bolton losing!!To Chelsea's credit,and remembering they had a cup final coming up....they did us the huge favor of beating the ever physical Bolton.In my mind a bit of a Kendall master stroke and not a small bit of Chelsea pride!

On the assumption that there's any truth in a match fix!!!One would have to presume that part of the fix was for Man Utd to play crap for the first 50mins(why would they do that,surely we were supposed to do that bit!)........Also was Stubb's free kick aimed for just past the post? (did the Man U player not understand,what was going on?....WE were the ones who were down to get the own goal!)........Turner could quite easily have made a slightly less obvious clanger! Put it like this he's never going to go on to become an actor,Panto maybe! OK Nevilles own goal did smack of maybe get in there!!.....but hey that's life.I mean I'd like to play for luckypool against Everton........my pass backs would test even the great Gordon Banks! OK!I don't think this is too premiture...BUT well done David Moyes!!WHY?....Because he's guided one of the smallest squads,which has had more than it's fair share of injuries this season to a european position.He started the season with a new goalkeeper,central defender and striker the spine of any team!......He was without Cahill who was probably one of our main men for a third of the season,has juggled the defence about untill they were dizzy. He didn't really spend a fortune last summer...compared to a lot of teams! Left and right back positions have been a nightmare this season....Beattie has under performed, McFadden,VDM and a couple more have not really fired up!.....ALL THIS and but for a couple of stupid dropped points we would have been 5th no problem. SMALL TEAM!.....OLD STADIUM!..... Oh if only we were more like Newcastle,Middlesborough and the like!! Great Manager.......Great team......Great fans! So for spanking the rs 3-0,the 0-0 at their place(champions of europe....your having a laugh) for not over spending(rip Leeds utd),for buying Lescott(futrue captain),for blooding the young lads Vaughan and Anichebe(saved us about £15 million) and for guiding us into europe..... Thank DM!

Yep a nice restfull summer,good pre season...and he will be ready to take us into europe....with 20+goals.

Don't say I didn't tell you!!!!.............Even when they lost the first leg 1-0,I went back and stuck another £10 on at 9-2.....BECAUSE they are obviously going to win it on pens or a freak goal.....of which Gerrard will play a major part. luckypool are devaluing the champions league......they haven't won their own domestic league for nearly 20 years.They don't seem to win a major honour without there being involved pen's,og's.....freak goals...or captain Fantastic doing something...OR a combination of all the above!!! Anyway,they couldn't score against us this season!.......or stop us scoring three goals. MONEY,MONEY,MONEY!!.........EASY MONEY!

Rooney did what was right for HIM!.....Short and long term it looks the right move for HIM!!............He will earn more money and win more things! He is possibly the best player of his generation and he his agent and most of the football world knew it. Whilst at Everton we were poor in terms of performances and finances! Him leaving changed both of these to an extent. When he scored that 3rd goal against us,it was probably a championship winning goal.......he was only a few yards from HIS teams fans.....of course he was friggin happy........Evertons fans(some of them) had been spitting poison at him all the match.....of course he was going to kiss the badge.He's still young and hot headed...we would all have reacted the same way! We were his first love and you never forget that....though some are working hard at making him hate the club. I say accept what he did for us......OK I wasn't happy when he scored!but then I wasn't too happy whae Neville side footed home or when Turner dropped the ball.......

If we had a great season next year...whilst at the same time Vaughan and Anichebe continued their improvement and were looking really good.....then and only then could you consider selling your best forward!! It's not just his goals but his work rate.Look at what he did to win the ball for Vaughans goal against Fulham!!......What other player would have won that? He's not worth £18million......and I hope he's staying here.Next season he could well get 20+ goals.....and he's a good teacher for Vaughan who's style is similar. Don't sell AJ.....HE'S HELPED US HAVE A GREAT SEASON!! Would you sell Lescott for big money???.....and maybe buy a Kroldrup!!
