  1. Would seriously like to see Anichebe on the edge of the Norwich 18 yard box. We can get the ball to that point......then nothing.Anichebes strength would destroy them and he can turn and shoot. I think he would lay the ball better to Mirallas, Osman and Pienaar. Victor may have slipped dow the pecking order, but there will always be games where his type of play is needed.
  2. I have it on good authority that liverpool fc have complained to the train company, they are upset that their carriage isn't included in the first 4 carriages, it's a conspiracy that's keeping them from being in the first 4, it's not fair. It was pointed out that the position of the carriages was arranged in order of how the premiership table finished last season, so if you want the liverpool carriage you'll find it just a bit lower down the platform behind the Everton one. The Everton one didn't cost as much to build or run.Although the rail network expect more people to use the liverpool carriage, it was pointed out to them that 1 Blue seat was worth 20 red ones.
  3. Sure Saurez has talent and amazing skill, but surely teams know enough about him now.Remember how he ran his studs down Distins leg and dived to get Rodwell sent off, employ these tactics against the nasty little cheat.Every team should be out to wind him up/give him no space. He sees it as an acceptable part of the game, if he can't take it, he may well get angry.......and we all know what he does when he get's angry. Liverpool will spend the whole season bleating about protection for Saurez, let's hope he gets the same protection as Distin and Rodwell recieved. We know he will cheat, every ones eyes are watching him, let's hope the pressure doesn't affect his game!
  4. Well Matt, Buddhism probably is 'hippy-esq', but boy have those guys got their minds sorted.I've only cherry picked the subject but I believe I've gained a certain amount already.I'm not going to shave my head or buy Orange clothes, but I'd not ridicule any one who wanted to. You don't have to go too deep to discover peace of mind, mainly through the words 'acceptance' and 'mindfullness'.I use the internet for my research as I haven't yet gone down the book route. Yoga, I have plenty of books, their is a link between Buddhism and Yoga, you'll soon discover that for yourself. You can do one without the other, but to be honest they do sit well together. Don't presume that Yoga is a soft option 'because you have injuries', if you do it properly, it can be friggin hard work, I have to say I love it and wish I'd started it years ago.I had knee cartilage opps due to football injuries and I believe Yoga has made my knees stronger than ever, my muscle structure and core is probably the best I've had.I also sleep a hell of a lot better. Your balance will improve along with breathing, posture and core strenght, but only with plenty of work, I do 3 classes a week and practice at home! You'll have to put up with doing this exercise with loads of lycra clad ladies, they usually out number the men by I'd say 10-1.I've met some relly nice people through Yoga, calm peacfull people, it seems to go hand in hand. You need a good teacher/teachers and will power, that's where mindfullness and acceptance comes in. Here's a clip, bit extreme......but worth a look!
  5. Didn't Pat score the winner against Norwich, at Norwich to secure the 86-87 championship, probably his only goal. Who was best out of him and Baines, well I think Pat was the better defender, but for me Baines is much better going forward and with the ball. I'm going for Baines.......just don't tell Pat!
  6. Seriously mate, if your really this troubled and you would need to explore it properly then take a look at Buddhism....NO, not as a religion, but a philosophy. You'll come across the word 'mindfulness', there are some important lessons within this to help with all types of problems. I saw my best mate killed at 11 and my parents died young, I had serious issues with death. As mentioned above having children brings the focus back to the living, my youngest child being born just as my Dad died. Your probably too young to want to ge into something 'strange' like Buddhism.Hell, I've even got into Yoga, I'm fitter than I was 20 years ago and I've learned to 'breath' properly, but it's what it can do for the mind that's imporant. The mind controls fear, don't waste your life worrying about death.True Buddhists embrace it. Now, this is all getting too serious......where's DK!
  7. Exactly how we got from Saurez to Joe Brands Vagina is illuding me. It's an image that will surface I'm sure, the next time I see Saurez grinning at the camera.......thanks for that!
  8. I think it's a piss poor attempt at a wind up really, if liverpool play well, then with either Saurez or Sturridge up front they are a handfull. Saurez has the feet of Peter Beardsly, the speed of a young Owen and the finishing prowess of a Fowler, I'd like to think he wont be there next season or he at least wont give 100%, but I wouldn't bet on it.He will play for the love of the game, sure he might bite someone, but for every bite he'll score 25 goals. So let's hope they sell him and waste the money again.Don't underate Sturridge, his goals per game were better than Saurez (I think). The best we can hope for is that an aging Gerrard fails to inspire the supply line.
  9. Goals, goalscorers, dates and incidents.....with a memory like that who gives a shit about the odd wrongly spelt word. Few years time you'll be telling people about the Martinez years, I wonder what they were like!
  10. New manager should have the lads going the extra yard, I think if we do we should have a lttle too much for Norwich.I would have thought Kurt 321's team above should if they all perform, give most teams in the prem a bloody hard time. I'm still looking forward to Mirallas and Coleman playing so well that Baines and Pienaar get more space, add to that Jelavic scoring again and someones going to get hammered.
  11. He's criticized on his grammar, followed by a mod calling a poster a 'Twat', hear's talk of cliques. Someone go after him, he's from the 70's and he cried like a baby when we beat Wimbledon, so did I!!... ...DON'T LET HIM GET AWAY.
  12. Some early points would be nice, calm the nerves as such. It's a brave new world, a world without Moyes and what he brought to the club. If Moyes were still here I can only guess I'd have been thinking, we will finish between 5th and 8th with the chance of a cup run plus a possible finish above the rs (again). If Martinez can achieve the above, whilst blooding some youngsters, I guess I'd be very happy. It's probably the best we can hope for. If we finish 7th-10th, again whilst blooding some youth, what can you say? look what liverpool did with a new manager last season and plenty of money! I hope Martinez is liked and trusted by the players, the chairman and the fans, then with the usual bit of luck you need in football we should be ok!
  13. Hello Mike! Don't worry about some of the crap on here, the new seasons just about with us and it looks like you like talking about the games, that will be welcome. Did you see Ronnie Goodlass score from almost in his own half against West Ham. Just read Latchfords 30 goals in a season book, you'd like that.
  14. If Moyes tries to take any Everton asset on the cheap, then the 10 years he spent here mean nothing to him.If this is the case I hope it goes very wrong for him at United. If he wants Baines and Fellaini, he should pay the market value, NOT try and rip off the club that gave him so much. Fellaini probably wants to move, Baines I'm not so sure of, if either or both want to go, ship them out but for the RIGHT amount. If Saurez is worth £4o million+, then Fellaini is worth £30m and Baines £15m.
  15. Kate,"a gold-digging, social climbing slag"....she could just be a nice girl who's fell in love with what happens to be the future King of England. If she is after the money, fame and easy life she's no worse than millions of other people."To any premeirship footballer reading this"......if you didn't know your wife before you made the first team, you probably married one!! I tend not to get too stressed about the monarchy......have though thought in the last few years, that as a gesture to the country, they could pay for and run a new state of the art childrens hospital.Give something back to the country.
  16. I wish we had an ill-disciplined headless chicken running around our midfield......if that's what it takes! His delusional comments, of which there have been many, can't detract from what he's done on the pitch.
  17. Gerrard says " liverpool must keep Saurez if they want any chance of top 4 next season " WOW Stevie boy, that says quite a bit about how much you rate the rest of your team/squad.Nice one captain. Let the man leave and get his teeth into a new venture.
  18. You could always point this out to Dunc when you next bump into him!.......you might just get a close look at those eye-brows!
  19. I think we're all getting a tad excited, ok at the moment we haven't had to watch Baines or Fellani leave, we've seen a couple of decent lads come in and the football against Blackburn was nice. Let's don't build him up, to knock him down in three months time. Moyes did a fine job, let's just hope Martinez can do better. Martinez is fresh, maybe that's what Everton needed, but the platform left by Moyes can't be underestimated.
  20. If Victor improves this season as steadily as he has in recent ones, there will be plenty of 'top 6' teams where defenders don't fancy 90 minutes against him.If he gets games he will get goals and certainly make some. Naismith came with Jelavic, we needed bodies, it was worth the risk, not really sure it was the right move.
  21. Is the Baines Pienaar romance over then? At it's best it was brilliant, but did we become too dependant on it!I was thinking if only Jelavic could find his form and Mirallas and Coleman caused as much trouble down the right, then the extra room that created for Baines and Pienaar would be exploited to the max. Still could happen, surely Pienaar has a couple of seasons left in him.
  22. One of the best to pull on an Everton shirt! RIP.
  23. Things could just click under Martinez, Coleman and Vic could keep getting better, Jellavic could start scoring, Baines might stay and have a great season with Pienaar, hell! the players might just enjoy a fresh approach. Other teams might just slip up a tad. Just wish the new man well and hold your nerve, that's what we did with Moyes.
  24. Well it's happened to the likes of Newcastle and Villa, so let's be honest it can happen to us.Moyes perhaps didn't thrill everyone with his tactics, but what he did do was cement Everton in the top 6/7 of the premier league with limited funds. The next man may have to do a similar job, no will have to. Moyes has helped make Everton an attractive club, that will attract some decent candidates, hopefully Martinez will be one of those.
  25. Fine no problem!...He pointed out the poster was 'a non English speaker, who some may have problems understnding', to me that's the same thing as 'grammar'.How 2i0 writes really doesn't bother me, what he writes tends to make me think he's on a wind up...."a mass exodus of players, the new Wigan" and a few other daft thoughts. Now I'm all for freedom of speech and he is pretty funny, I feel I have the right to challange him as a rs!! I don't really give a shit either way, I think Martinez would be a decent choice, I'd like to think he could come here with no pressure from Evertonians for a couple of seasons.Didn't he turn liverpool down, that would help endare him to many Everton fans.
