Just improving plan A by having a playmaker in our side would do us the world of good. Sadly we may have to wait til the window closes for that, or maybe January, or next summer or the 12th of never for that!

Let's hope the three newly promoted teams are poor, very poor.
 
This squad even with an injury or two, under Moyes would have easily have been safe and probably even pushing 7th, under Martinez, or at least how he was for major parts last season, I can see us struggle.He ( Martinez ) doesn't seem to get the best out of the players hence other teams don't fear us.
 
How can I say that about a team that includes Baines, Coleman, Stones, Jags, Barkley, Deulofeu, Mirallas, Pienaar, Lukaku, Cleverley and some other half decent players, McCarthy etc.

Maybe Martinez has had a reallity check, he better have had, after Watford we've got a long run of games that on last years form we can easily lose.
 
Oh and Mr Martinez, can we at least play something like exciting football, I can't stand another season like the last one.

If Moyes was in 'possession' of THIS squad i'd be thinking top 6 or above maybe 4th at a push.With Martinez I'm thinking mid-table.

We finished mid-table, because we played like a mid-table team.
 
This season just gone, Coleman didn't play like a CL fullback, nor did Baines, Jags, Barkley, etc,etc ! It seemed as though the tactitcs, formations, preperations, mind setts were all.......mid-table.
 
Coleman, Baines, Jags and a few others could, should and were at times on the radars of the big boys, last season they just didn't look the part........that doesn't mean they couldn't play there, just like Lukaku......for a 'better' team.
 
Last season Everton were below average.
 
Lukaku will leave us for big money and will play CL football, but between now and then I hope we get the best out of him.
 
This daft arguement rumbles on and will next season even if he scores 25 league goals, because it will all be down to the players round him, the manager, poor opponets etc, etc ! Lukaku to some will still be a figure of hate......probably goes back to a childhood incident.

He didn't slate Martinez at all Haf. He's looked good out wide one game, that game, because it exploited the total shitness of Monreal as a defender. Other than that it hasn't looked like a good plan at all. Martinez, and us as fans, want him to be scoring goals yes? He's got a much better chance of doing that playing up front and not on the right wing.
 
Where was Lukaku against Southampton and Palace? Where was everyone else too? Alcaraz and Coleman were busy scoring own goals, Howard was busy flapping, Barry and McCarthy were busy getting walked over, Barkley was doing an impression of Paul Daniels and disappearing, Naismith was probably running around a lot to no avail. It's not like Lukaku was alone in not turning up for those games so I don't see the need to single him out.
 
The thing I find bizarre is that I wasn't even totally on board with signing him, so I'm not needlessly defending him because I can't admit I was wrong or whatever. I thought it was too much money and that if we had that sort of money we should spread it around bringing in more numbers. But I can see the benefit of him and think the stick you beat him with at every opportunity is disproportionate to what actually is the case.

He's like a car in some way that doesn't spring to mind. But, then, someone else is like this other car. And, basically, he can't play with his back to goal as well as this guy who is like the other car, but he scores you more goals. So, keep the car or sell the car? He's only 22 for another 350-some days. Something about a warranty. Cars.

Firstly I have never booed him and I am never likely to. I would love it to work out for him here, because God knows we could do with another decent forward at the club. But the fact of the matter is he has been piss poor
 
I expect a striker to score goals and for a £6m outlay I don't think that's too much to ask for. So 1 goal in 2 years isn't good enough . I have said before that I hope it's just a confidence thing and that he comes back stronger next season after a good preseason but I honestly can't see it
 
When Jelavic was going through his lean spell he was still getting in goal scoring positions it just wouldn't go in for him. With Kone he just doesn't look like he could score in a month of Sunday's

Only saw the 2nd half against a 10 man Burnley, yes we won, and sure we've managed to pick up some god points in the last few games........But, I'm still pretty worried about Martinez.

He cost 6m and has scored 1 goal in 2 years, is riddled with injuries, not a record signing but 6m we could not afford to waste
RM made the mistake of poaching what he yhought was the best players from a relagted side HE TOOK DOWN.
Hes cleary not of the standard needed but keeps other players out the team because RM is forcing it and hopes he comes good to justifey his mistake he will never admit.

Lukaku = £30 million........Jurys still out though as to who the better player is !

It's pretty simple in my eyes, if Lukaku was at Chelsea or PSG etc etc he'd be in double figures in the league maybe even 20.

Just thought I'd put a thought or two out there.Never have I heard any member say they think Lukaku is brilliant/finished item!
As for there being a 'massive need for him to succeed', haven't see that either.I have seen and share their thoughts by members who want 'need' EVERTON to succeed, play more adventerous football, actually win some games.Lukaku comes under the term Everton.....along with the manager and every other player in the squad.
 
The potential of Lukaku, Barkley and stones is there for all to see, they need good management, coaching and support from players and crowd, not constant stick.
 
Lukaku has bad games in him, some people will enjoy them more than others.
