  1. Now think it's McCarthy not Osman...
  2. I hope I'm wrong but there's rumours that the team has been released early. As follows: Joel, Oviedo, Stones, Mori, Baines, Barry, Osman, Lennon, Barkley, Mirallas, Lukaku. I hope Osman doesn't start especially. Legs have gone and it's going to be 100mph.
  3. My birthday today so I really hope Everton don't spoil it. Niasse must be crap in training if he's not getting a start in a rotated team with nothing really to play for. Would have liked a youngster to start as well. Would it really have hurt us to put to start Dowell instead of Osman? We all know what Osman can do and he's gonna be released in the summer anyway so why not throw Dowell in? It would have taken the pressure off the rest of the players I think and the crowd would have been more supportive if he threw some youngsters in. Literally no idea how today's gonna go.
  4. I think this season has made us question every decent player we thought we had. I know I have. Lukaku - Had a good season and his goals have kept us from falling even further down the table. However, questions still have to be asked about his all round contribution in matches as well as his attitude of late. Barkley - For me he is under-performing and at 22 he hasn't developed to the player we hoped he would. Doesn't control games at all. That's my opinion though. Stones - Had a bad patch which has raised questions about how good he actually is. Can he actually defend? Coleman - Made a few defensive errors that have led to people saying he still does the same mistakes now as he did when he was 23/24. Baines - Injury plagued season but hasn't looked anything near to the old Baines when he's played. McCarthy - Used to be highly rated here but this season he's been below average at best. Stupid last night as well as we could easily have lost that with 10 men. Deulofeu - Started well but has majorly fallen down the pecking order of late. Would like to see him play more but obviously the manager doesn't. Mirallas - Big talent but again has been on the bench most of the season. Might be his attitude and disciplinary record but on his day a quality player. Haven't seen anything this season (might be Martinez's fault as he hasn't had much chance) Those players are considered our best players but they've had a pretty crap campaign apart from Lukaku (some will disagree). Are they all overrated and actually not as good as we thought they were or is it the manager's fault with the tactics and the way he's managed them over a season? I honestly don't know but the players have to take a bit of responsibility if they're at the level we thought they were. The only ones who can come out of this season with a bit of credit are Mori, Barry, Lennon and Besic. One's a 35 year old who we can't seem to play without him, Lennon hardly played until January, Besic has been injured most of the season and it's Mori's first season here. Sort of shows how shit we have been and they're the ones coming out with a bit of credit. If we get rid of Martinez then the next manager has a huge responsibility in sorting our squad.
  5. Agree. Unbelievable passion and I'm dreading he'll be a great appointment when he actually buys some players and put his stamp on the team. Probably bit of jealousy as well. I'm just bored with Everton at the moment. Not excited at all before a game and nothing to show things will change.
  6. Despise them. Can't stand them. Horrible lot. Just the relationship with the Dortmund fans and YNWA and all that - horrible. Gotta give it to them though they showed passion to come back and win that. Nice to see a manager show the passion Klopp has. I actually quite like him which is something I don't admitting to.
  7. Barkley been an absolute disgrace this first half. How many times has he given the ball away? It's not the fact that he loses possession that annoys me most though, it's his casual jogging back after a mistake like he can't be bothered to work back. Sort it out Ross. You're 22 now, not a 17 year old kid.
  8. Martinez is at the U21 match in Southport tonight. There's a photo on twitter of a fan that's gone up to him and abused him. I want him gone but that's going way too far. He's still a human being and there's a way to go about it rather than abusing him right in his face. Idiot.
  9. Managed to bullshit his way in the post match interview again today I notices. "The result is a strong one." "We defended very well" Full of rubbish again!! In denial big time.
  10. Who scouted him? Looked absolutely terrible. Awful.
  11. Yes please. Unbelievable defender in terms of actually defending. Incredibly quick and strong and comfortable on the ball as well. He's 24 so expect Roma to demand at least 15-20 million for him. The type of player we should be linked with.
  12. Martinez seems to give the silent treatment to quite a few of our players. As much as I didn't like him, McGeady said that he had to move away for game time having been frozen out basically. Gibson hasn't been in the squad for the last 5 or 6 games. Same happened to Distin. These have been good servants for the club (McGeady apart) and the least he could do is tell them if they have a future here or not. I think Pienaar will be off in the summer and rightly so but surely out of respect you tell him now so he can start looking for clubs rather than delay everything until May. Bit of a strange way to manage the players in my opinion.
  13. Scary how true that is. Just sums up his time here perfectly. Stubborn, incredibly positive, not a lot of work on set pieces, woeful defending, no plan B, some good attacking displays but no consistency, sideways passing.
  14. Well there you go. There's no way Martinez is getting sacked when Kenwright's still at the helm. His comments confirmed that.
  15. Mike I don't know if I want to laugh or cry. No, fairplay over 80 mins England deserved it today. We gave you a good scare at the end but you won with 4 points the difference. We'll get you next time at the Principality Stadium don't worry. Oh and by the way I think the world cup loss still stings so I'm not that concerened as I think that one still hurts you. Anyway, I'm smiling writing this as the Mighty Blues won today and we're off to Wembley. Hopefully a Palace draw and I'd be really happy. Utd vs West Ham and Arsenal vs Watford tomorrow. Hoping for a Watford and Man Utd win as well. (Yes I did say I hope Man Utd win as I think West Ham are a better side).
  16. Mike we had this discussion before the World cup match and we all know how that one ended. Kick off is at 4 though so think I'll miss the first 5/10 minutes of the Everton game.
  17. Looking forward to a good day of sport tomorrow. First of all to Wales giving England another battering at Twickenham before seeing Everton smash Chelsea hopefully!
  18. I just think after our investment we'll be a great attraction to big name managers and I'm sorry there's much better than him out there. Nothing will happen though will it? Being realistic for a moment. We're not a club that will sack their manager. I'll be very very surprised if he's sacked and I pretty much guarantee that he'll be in charge the first game of next season.
  19. At least there's consistency there I suppose!
  20. Turned it off as this football club depresses me at the moment. Conceded 2 in two minutes from corners.
  21. Live on BT sports tonight. Definitely will give it a watch. Looking forward to see Holgate, Dowell, Joe Williams, Tom Davies and Rodriguez. Heard good things on Holgate so keeping a close eye on him.
  22. Add McGeady to the sell list. Remember he's only on loan at Wednesday and Martinez has said previously that he's looking forward to seeing a 'fresh' McGeady for pre-season. Hope not.
  23. Great player and think he has more of a feeling for the club than what some are saying on here. Brilliant striker.
