  1. Agreed. Want him to be given a chance. If he's not performing than obviously move him on, but to say 'We're here for you..........but don't want want you' wouldn't sit right with me. But I'm no expert on the issues he's suffering with, so don't know how best to help him I'd prefer us to back him and at least let him try and perform in training / friendlies Either way, I was never anti-dele, he's a superb player who improves us. But that's not the main focus now, I just hope he can get the help he needs to move forwards in his life. Football is a by-product of him being 'happy' again
  2. Agreed. Stats can be manipulated. I trust the opinion of people I know who watch him week in / week out. He isn't that good. He isn't the answer. Purple patch player. He had it for a season. Like Origi across the park. All opinions tho, but he'd be yet another waste on a so called 'proven' PL player. Steer clear and spend the money elsewhere
  3. I just don't get why we'd want him. As said before I get good info regarding Leicester players and he's just not that good. He isn't a goal scorer. He prefers to sit deeper and even when found up top most often plays with his back to goal. Not for me. Spend the money elsewhere
  4. If he improves us and we can afford him, then why not? Put the teams side by side and honestly who would you have joined given the choice?
  5. Better not be true. He's finished at the top level. Had his time, pace has gone and offered nothing last season for Leicester. Of what's left, you'd take Pereira, Catsagne, James, Dewsbury-Hall, Barnes, Ndidi All improve us And we cant afford any of them Vardy can fuck right off
  6. At the right price its a definite yes for me. The kind of player we are crying out for. Didn't know we had £25 million laying around tho, must've found it in a pair of jeans
  7. Has to be a structured deal surely. I'd like to say I trust the clubs judgement but we did buy Tosun, Bolasie, Walcott et al for similar type fees and look how they worked out Hopefully due diligence has been done and he turns into a belting signing if true
  8. That was my point. Terrific players on a free going to a team we would usually think we are bigger / better than. Considering they were a Championship side 5 years ago says it all about the state of our club
  9. Obviously we need a CF I'd argue we do need a CM, and Tielemans on a free would have been a no brainer.
  10. Maybe I was being too optimistic. Only said 10 as we've already let a couple go and were needing 5 players before that! Sad to see other clubs making moves and we're emptying the money tin to see what we can scrape together. That said, its around now that contracts expire etc so maybe we'll be surprised as we leap into action. Shows how bad we are that Tielemans goes to Villa on a free. Maddison at £40 million is good value too, and we've paid similar prices for absolute shite. Both way better players than anything we have / had
  11. So plenty of people out the door or currently walking through it seems. The squad was thin and imbalanced before, now its just thin. So despite the financial problems, you could argue that the squad is in a good place. Deadwood gone (apart from a couple) so kind of a blank canvas. The reset point we all want. It will now go one of 2 ways We bring 10 or so players in (realistically that's what we need now) All are carefully thought out and part of a plan. They have the right age profile and most importantly improve the squad in terms of quality but also numbers and also options. Their wages reflect their 'reputation' too (eg unknown talent) and they even have resale value. Or We piss what little money we do have up the wall on absolute shite / premier league 'experience'. 29 year olds on 5 year contracts who've been shite for a while but they once had a few good games in 2019 ......... and nothing changes. The Everton Retirement Home in all its glory Most important Summer in many years, we have to get this right What's your money on?
  12. Mad times! I quite like Gray and have no issue if he were to stay. Infuriating but has shown he can contribute to wins etc However, if we get a bid around that price then you have to accept it. Business side is a no brainer, but if we can invest that in 2 players, then we've done brilliantly. The scary thought is us using that money wisely! There are players out there that wont cost the earth and will improve us
  13. Not the answer. Not even close to what we want / need. Had a purple patch, much like Origi, but has been dogshit ever since. Family are LCFC season ticket holders and have gone to every game home & away for years. They would laugh their asses off if we bought him.
  14. If we got £5 million that would an excellent price. 1 year left, and not really done all that much. English premium helps
  15. He may well have decent lower league career and score a few goals, but he's not the ticket for us. Could easily become a player who stays here for years and years and never breaks through. A la Broadhead/Pennington/Garbutt. Snap their hands off. Sell on would be good too
  16. Dobbin step to Prem probably too much at this stage. Agree a Championship move more likely. See what pre season brings and if impresses then maybe he could be an unpredictable wildcard for the first team? Off the bench as an unknown, might just make a name for himself. Its unlikely, but with our financial situation, could be worth a gamble? Diallo, did well last season, so I wouldn't mind him coming in. Unlike recent loans, this one might actually be worth it
  17. Jeez. Lets hope JP stays fit if Robles comes in. Dreadful GK
  18. I think there's a player in there. His huge problem is his attitude and application. As a squad player he's not totally useless. Can play a couple of positions, admittedly not overly well, but I've seen far worse players at Everton over the years. Considering no one is going to buy him we have to work with what we've got
  19. The role of the 3rd keeper is a very modern thing and something that probably goes unnoticed. No issue him staying. It obviously works for JP so its a no brainer. Wont cost a lot in wages. Knows he's never getting a game. Would likely be described as 'good pro' which is more than can be said for some our squad
  20. Fair play getting the award but I think its a stretch to say he had an excellent season. He had a purple patch under FL but still wasn't exactly stellar. Got a few assists then too I think. But on reflection he's a midfielder who runs a round a lot, and doesn't really impact a game. Goals and assists ratio for a £30 million man is shocking (typical Everton) We'll probably keep him as it will be cheaper than replacing him
  21. In fairness he's probably been one of the best value transfers we've had for a while. Is he amazing? nope could he stop trying to beat 3 players every time? yes But for less than £2 million, he's scored a few goals in the hardest league in the world, in a shit team, and played out of position too. Wish he would be more direct and beat his man (just the once) as he has the pace and ability to put defenders on the back foot. Much like ASM at Newcastle. Problem is he's also like ASM in that he's incredibly inconsistent to the point of infuriating. Worth keeping, and its not like there's an orderly queue being formed anyway, so a moot point
  22. Think he could be our best CM for a long while. Really impressed with him
  23. I think Godfrey deserves time. There's a player in there for sure, and his pace is also a huge factor. Injuries / Covid / loss of form / playing out of position all contributed to him struggling. Perfect age profile for me. Him and Branthwaite are what we need more of. Close the Everton retirement home. Tarkowski with Branthwaite / Godrey plus (if it has to be) Coady works for me Keane has to move on, as does Holgate.
  24. He divides opinion a fair bit, but I think he's been our player of the season by a distance, possibly only Tarkowski comes close to beginning to challenge him. He's also England's No1 for a reason. I get the feeling he genuinely loves playing for Everton and has no desire to move.
  25. Nothings changed for me. Forget what Leicester are doing. 45 mins to win a game of football. Easier said than done tho
