  1. This lad could have a big future. Really hope he comes back and stays here for a while. For me, I think Tarkovski / Godfrey / Branthwaite and possibly Coady would be more than enough. I know Godfrey has struggled for form but his pace is such an asset and with Branthwaite getting good game time that could be a good combo at some point. I’d get Mina out the door in a heart beat
  2. We got the ball in attacking areas and were always looking to get it in the box. We made the Arsenal defenders have to defend. That brought corners, which creates pressure. I thought we were fantastic all game. Simple and structured. 4-5-1. Hard work, passion and desire. Probably deserved to win by a coupe of goals.
  3. Obviously not joining, but he's the kind of player we've been crying out for. A creative midfielder, imagine if we had one of them again. 6 month deal yes please!!!! Instead we'll get Andre fucking Ayew won't we................that's Everton!!!
  4. Yep. Square pegs in square holes. Do what your ‘best’ at. Keep compact. Shift across. Defend 3, attack 4. Simple and (usually) pretty successful way to play. It won’t be pretty but we all know that already.
  5. Suspect most will get games. Try different combinations to see what he’s got, we’ve not given him much choice have we (thanks to the board) Gana and Onana will def play. Specific roles for both and he’ll get a tune out of them. Garner, Douc, Davies will be the 3rd player. We haven’t got 2 strikers so it won’t be 442. Iwobi for me has reverted to type as his bubble has burst. Can see him outwide again as at least he runs around. More likely a 451 out / 433 in possesion type shape
  6. Looking forward to seeing more of Garner. Good central trio with Gana & Onana. Simms won’t play much. He’s no where near good enough
  7. Agree, Isaid earlier the squad isn't awful and the table is still tight. That said, to go thru the window and not bring a striker in is astounding. DCL is quality but not been fit enough for last 18 months. We have literally no on else. Maupay is awful and Simms is never going to be a decent player I want to be optimistic but fuck me the club are making it hard to be
  8. Few points make a huge difference to league position, its so tight. Squad isnt terrible (we've def had worse), but its still a long way short and has been for a while. To spend 2 transfer windows identifying target's and decide Maupay was the attacking answer is criminal in itself. Not just the board, but what has Thelwell been doing??
  9. 5 hours ish to go. Absolute disgrace. Going to take something incredibly special now to turn this around........which obviously isn't going to happen Looking forward to the 'we worked right upto the deadline' & 'we were close' bullshit
  10. If we end up with McGoldrick and Ayew or similar type garbage then it proves there is no plan in place. Any talk that the Sporting Director controls the signings and type of players we want is utter arse drivel. That shows zero plan. 12 hours to go. Time to panic yet?
  11. I’d actually feel sorry for Coventry more than anything else
  12. Amen to that! The day is long, so let’s make the most of it. Time for the club to stand up and be counted and make signings that we can all get behind.
  13. yeah you're probably right. Which in itself proves how unattractive we are
  14. Wasn't my first choice, but will back him all the way. Understand the logic of the appointment, and I'm very happy to be proved wrong if he can get the team up the table. Crazy first 24 hours in charge this is going to be......no pressure eh
  15. He'd be an awesome signing. Reckon he could work off DCL quite nicely. Arriving late in the box, kind of like a Cahill type player. Drop into midfield out of possession etc Cant see it happening tho
  16. We probably need to get 3 players minimum, ideally 4 don't we. 2 for a fee, 1 domestic loan, 1 European loan. Use everything we've got, and maybe the loan signings should be the ones we gamble on?? (less risk) How the hell we sign 4 players in 24 hours, when we dither so much, is beyond me!!
  17. Ah my bad. I thought we were pushing for 60. Either way. great price for not a great player
  18. A bit short of the summer price but still a staggering amount for a player who’s done not very much this season let alone his career. The ‘English’ player premium is alive and well. I was originally a bit pissed at him leaving, but after his behaviour (as we’re led to believe) he can get fucked
  19. Dude I get it. Just fed up with it all Could well be the right choice. I’ll back whoever comes in.
  20. If it is to be Dyche then I’ll obviously back him. It’s the most uninspiring appointment since you know who. And he may well keep us up, who knows Just when I wanted a spark and something to get behind we’ve settled for something quite the opposite. Grind out results and look forward to barely staying up each season. Happy to be proved wrong of course, but someone else said, by November this forum will be flooded with complaints about the style. All a bit ‘meh’ ……… but that’s more about Everton in general than anything else I suppose
  21. Not Dyche for me. Uninspiring football which uses the old mentality of ‘we start with a point so let’s keep it’ and whilst that’s not an bad thought process I think we need someone we can get behind and be seen to be ‘having a go’ on the pitch Do agree it could be a more stable / safe appointment, but I really don’t think he’s the man to keep us up. Chance creation and goals scored are our biggest issue. The defensive side isn’t entirely a lost cause. In isolation based on stats it’s actually ok. Biggest issue is the ‘brain fart’ most seem to have in most games that cost us. Goals win football matches and whilst Bielsa would mean we need to score 2 every game, I’d at least feel like we were trying to win games rather than just ‘not lose’ It’s all about mentality for me. As previously mentioned, he could be a complete car crash but I’d actually lean towards going for it. If we stayed up, I’d have more faith in him improving than squad than the turgid type signings Dyche would likely make / request Stick a couple of wins together and the table looks very different
