Totally disagree, Baines is playing aswell as he has ever done and now that Piennar is back I flly expect them to pick up where they left off last season Moving Distin over is definitely not great, he can o a job as an emergency LB but that is about it

Rodwell already has stagnated. We have been waiting for him to kick on for a couple of seasons and it just hasnt happened for him Ive already said that its way too early to write him off and he may well go on to fulfill his potential one day but I think your missing the point, how much is your stop gap left back going to cost ? By the time you have given the bank their cut and bought another left back there will be next to no money left so what would be the point in selling? Either way you have instantly weakened the side and who says Garbutt is going to be the long term answer after all he isnt even first choice for England U19s? Again he may well turn into a great player as may Rodwell but theres an awful lot of ifs creeping into your argument already We have posibly the best left sided partnership in the Prem but you want to break it up because you think its boring, do you not think it would be better to try and strengthen the right flank rather thank weaken the left ? I really dont understand your last line either because by selling Rodwell we can strengthen in other areas of the side and move the club forwards

Jesus Pete , Gibson is injury prone yet Rodwell is just unlucky?? Baines IS a top class player NOW . and has years left in him We have no cover fo Baines so would need to spend any money we got for him to buy another LB who probably wooldnt be as good ( after banks have had their cut) , so no real benefit in selling Rodwell MAY or MAY NOT be a top class player in years to come We have plenty of other options in centre midfield some who are younger and have just as much if not more potential than Rodwell so we therefore do not need to spend a penny replacing him. This leaves us money to bring in players who can strengthen the squad in other areas ie upfront or right mid I liked Rodwell and wish him all the best , but it really is a no brainer we could do with him leaving just to freshing up our tactics - Priceless! You have to be kidding! We have plenty of strength in depth in his position including some very promising youngsters in Fellaini ,Barkley, Lundstram and Fransisco Junior so we dont have to buy anybody to replace Rodwell , never mind a stop gap, because he wasnt in the team anyway. This would free up money to help us strengthen other areas of the side We only have one senior leftback at the club, who happens to be one of the best in the Premiership yet you would seriously rather sell him?

I agree with Marco and think its a bit premature to be writting Rodwell off, just an example of how fickle some of our fans are, and I do still beleive that he has the potential to become a very good player for us. However if we had to lose one player to help fund new signings then I would probably pick Rodwell, sinply because centre midfield is a position that we are strong in. We have Felli and Gibson who are probably going to be first choice at the moment then we have Osman, Neville and Piennar who can fill in and then we have the likes of Barkley. Francisco Junior and John Lundstram coming through.

Im with SteveO on this one, I think it would have been a good thing if he played I take what your saying about him kissing the badge and agree totally that he deserved everything he got after that, I have given him plenty of abuse in the past but I do think thats where it should stay now, in the past I dont think many Evertonians care about all that anymore, I didnt hear a single anti Rooney chant or comment at Old Trafford last time out, so I doubt he would have got much stick if he pitched up for Hibbos testimonial. If he had played tonight it would have been a good way to finally bury the hatchet If as you suggest the move was engineered by the board then why hold a grudge against Rooney?

Maybe I am being overly optimistic but I think it is a forgone conclusion, I really cant see a scenario where we would have to send him back Im not expecting us to suddenly go out and buy 3 or 4 £20M players but I would be surpised if Moyes doesnt bring in 1 or 2 players on loan, without having to sell and if Wigan firm up their supposed interest in Anichebe then that will give him more money to spend I havent got a clue about the finances but surely with all the record money coming in from Sky and with the likes of Cahill, Arteta, Drenthe. Mcfadden, Straq, and Yobo off the wage bill there must be a few quid left over to pay the wages for a couple of loan signings
