  1. havent been to see him play in the flesh but from the 10 mins that I saw him play (which im sure is all he has played in EPL right?) he didnt do anything right or wrong. Far too early to write him off.

Fair point on Jo, lightning striking twice though?

Don't forget Moyes and his team see these players on the training ground every day. If Denis was good enough he would be getting his chance. Yep you saw him for 10minutes against Wigan and to be fair he did okay but against Chelsea he reminded me so much of Brett Angell it was untrue - sometimes you can just tell. (Please note I'd love him to bang 20 goals in now I've said this).

  2.

Denis hasnt had a chance to prove anything yet so I think thats a bit harsh. Lukaku was a 20m buy because of his potential more than his ability at the moment. I think he could be awesome in the future but is he better than Saha, someone who is proven in the EPL. Im honestly not sure. Im pretty sure Moyes wouldnt start him that much.

Have you been to see Denis play??? He looks totally out of his depth in the English game. If Moyes had the opportunity to play a £20m striker then he would - look how much time Jo got initially (1st loan) before he deserved dropping 2nd loan.

  3. Business plans can take a long time and cost a lot to formulate and things can be in place to prove plans will bear fruit e.g rumours Jain group are in talks with LCC about football quarter. The people buying/selling Everton aren't stupid and we're talking vast sums of money from people who's public/global image can mean millions/billions. I can't see phoney business plans getting through (again).

If selling EFC was only about money we would have been sold a long time ago and god knows where we could be good or bad. Maybe it's about the money for Earl etc. but BK surely wants what he sees as best for the clubs long term future... and let's be honest he's in a better position than any of us to decide who will take us into the future.

  4. The market value is the price the market will pay.

If you put your home up for sale, and get a few folks looking at it, but nobody puts in an offer - you're asking too much.

You can shift a derelict house if it's at the right price.

I think it's fair that anybody would get the best price they can though. Whether that's as much as they want is another thing.

Plus, BK has said a few times that it needs to be the 'right' owner. This is the bit I struggle with. I don't think you can ever tell who is going to be the right owner. Do they need to be Everton lovers? Or amazingly successful businessmen, or just wealthy beyond compare? Can any club afford to be so choosy in this day and age?

No they just need to have a long term business plan with EFC's long term future secured... if these boxes are ticked and other major shareholder's needs are met then it doesn't matter who it is.

What matters is Everton F.C competing at the highest level for the next .... years.

  5. For c1982:

    http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/9361246.Rovers_set_for_fresh_takeover_attempt/

the same link is on Blackburns Newsnow page, yet its not on ours

still trying to find the other thing i read this morning

Thanks - I doesn't actually tell us anything though does it? Pure speculation.

We are the 2 PL turmoil clubs at the moment so it's an easy rumour to start.

If true... could they (Qatar party) be driving down our price by looking else where? Our unrest is very public now and wouldn't take much to get more pressure on BK maybe bringing down the price.

  6.

Read the bit were it says why they are holding back : Everton are up for sale at the right price, with interest being shown by the Indian-based Jain Group, but the valuation is putting off Al-Thani.

A leading football power broker has been working on the deal in recent weeks, but it is proving a tough nut to crack because the numbers do not appeal to the Arabs.

Bill Kenwright is looking for around £120m for Everton, although that price is negotiable. The Toffees are carrying debts and there will be a massive bill if the buyer wants to build a new ground.

so once again it comes down to the ridiculous asking price again, showing like most, Bill is in it for the cash (i can understand this to some extent, but don't claim to be the greatest living Evertonian if you are going to do that) and also the stadium again, showing how much things like the Kings Dock have held us back, Cheers Bill shaking%20fist.png

Don't take the people as gospel!

  7.

I don't know what to say about this really... I would love to see the worlds best each week a GP but this seems a bit cavilleer. E.g. Where will it leave us when profile of Qatar is achieved?

The thing I want most is the redevelopment or a new stadium and an economically attractive area around us. With this, I believe success would naturally come. I would love these great players but give me players like Drenthe on £50k a week and a new stadium over messi on £500k a week and no thought about the future of EFC all for some rich sheiks hobby.

I want Everton for my children an d grand children and I'm those in charge want this too.

  8. Watching eng vs Spain - jags misses Lescott, they seem to complement each other. Although jags is probably our best centre back overall he hasn't clicked with either heitinga or Distin whereas the afore mentioned pair seemed to compliment each other when they got a run of games at the end of the 09-10 season. As much as I love him maybe jags needs to drop out of the starting xi until he earns his place back.

  9. I'm not going to open old wounds mate, but your memory doesn't serve you well. When you have posted, it's normally either bringing up the old days, or telling me to leave if I don't like it. Hardly heart warming correspondences Romey. I notice too that it was 'my' tiff with Haff, rather than 'Haffs' tiff with me. I wish folk would be a little more genuine, but I'm asking a lot. Still, if one guy goes against the bandwagon clique, he'll not last long, so best I don't, eh mate. Instead I'll go buy a magazine on how to be a negative whinging Evertonian, and with a bit of luck I'll fit right in.

There are as many positive as negative people on here it so happens you and haf seem to be the 2 extremes... you're disillusionately (is that a word) positive and haf's boringly negative. It's as if haf's Hitler and you're Graham Norton (Evertonian forms obviously!) not many people support either of your opinions in general as you are the 2 extremes.
