  1. You're comparing a kick about in the park to the Premier League!
  2. We won't play like that week in week out though and we will be towards the top of the league over the course of the season. Unfortunately due to financial constraints that will be seen as a good season. I don't see much of what Moyes could have done differently re. line-up yesterday... Should Hibbert have started? I think so. Should Heitinga stayed CB? I think so but who would have replaced Rodwell in the middle? Cahill needed dropping according to some. Should we have played 2 up top? Well we should have vs QPR no doubt but Moyes obviously doesn't see Beckford and Anichebe as a combination that is good enough for the Premier League. Bringing on Cahill at that time was a good substitution - we needed more leadership on the pitch. People on here are taking out our shit financial state and complete lack of transfer activity on what's going on, on the pitch. Yes we were very poor, but to say it's the worst performance ever is a huge over statement based on a shit summer. Re. QPR any other day we'd have beaten them or at least saved a point - what if Baines had hit that FK 1 inch lower? - different story. The facts are we have 3 points from 2 games - I would have expected at least 4 from those fixtures but it could be a lot worse. We played okay against QPR without any finish/ wasted opportunities, we looked lively vs Sheff.Utd, controlled the game and progressed in the cup, we got a lucky 3 points away to Blackburn and played poor - end of the fucking world!!! A lot of people on here are letting their disappointment of our shocking summer blow yesterdays performance out of proportion - everyone needs to chill the fuck out and get behind the boys. If we can't do anything before Wednesday then let's support who we've got! Yes I get your point - I just think it's a knee-jerk blown out of proportion point clouded by other activities going on off the pitch.
  3. Seems to be a serious part of Boas' plans this season from what's coming out of Stamford Bridge. If we could muster a loan fee I'd love Benayoun on-loan from them - he's certainly not in their plans having given up the number 10 shirt to Mata.
  4. Having watched the highlights on football first I must say I've seen us play a lot worse. We were poor but we managed to nick 3 points. A lot of the lads looked nervous and 2 of our 'big' players in felli and arteta clearly aren't fully fit. I'm glad for this international break - it'll give key players time and let all involved focus on the next game. All in all - poor performance, excellent result.
  5. Moyes gave him a big pat on the back as he took him off. "The lad will do well to come back from this..." - possibaly the biggest over the top, ridiculous thing I've ever read on this site and I'm a big fan of dave's posts!!!
  6. That's pretty much all I'll need to read in this thread! I know lets dominate, play some nice football and lose!? All that matters today is we got 3 points - 3 points against a team who needed a performance as they'd lost their first 2 so were more than likely fired up for this one. 3 points - we've got something to build on. Fuck the performance - I seem to remember playing dreadful a few times in the 2004-05 season and winning - where did that get us? For me the result is a strong foundation to build on after the international break... this will be a distant memory as we set-up against Villa, it'll just be 3 points from 2 games. People need to remember we dominated Blackburn and played some good football at the beginning of last season - I know which result I'm happier with... Oh and Liverpoo are playing really well and winning 3-0... Moyes out and sell Jags!!! - BORE OFF!!!!
  7. I'd say Cantona for Leeds - season before Man.Utd bought him (I think?)
  8. I prefer Felli centre mid. Heitinga should be playing CB with Jags or Distin.
  9. Saha injured again? @louissaha08 - I had better mornings. #gutted
  10. The invicibles... Bergkamp = world class forward - what we lack Pires/Ljungberg = natural wingers - also what we lack Man.Utd... Rooney = world class forward Young/Nani/Valencia = natural wingers We need wingers to spring attacks and if we want to play 4-4-2 we need someone who can drop in a link the play - Arsenal had bergkamp, united have rooney. We need wingers with pace and a forward.
  11. That's all been said on here before! Toffeetalk for the thinking Evertonian - FACT!
  12. A lot of what you say is very negative which clouds over some very valid points you make. Try mixing it up with the odd positive posts... maybe not about Everton as you're very negative about that interest but what else are you into? Dogs, cars, home baking? What about a nice post (and picture) about a lovely cake you baked for a special occassion - then there maybe a rosier picture painted of you because at the mo and ever since the pax episode it's been as if you've been on your period. SteveO has got over it - it's now your time to shine... I look forward to the home baking thread!!!
  13. Maybe... probably not though - I doubt Yak has the positional sense to play there.
  14. So a 4-4-1-1 with a striker as a attacking midfielder? Exactly what our strikers do already as we haven't got the supply to attack high enough up the pitch. Once again I hear what you're trying to say but we simply don't have an Aguero, Rooney, Tevez, Van Persie or in old currency Beardsley, Cantona, Zola, Bergkamp, Sherringham etc. or forwards to do this, we basically have 'target men' and 'poachers' - we have not got the complete forward who can drop back and create something from nothing like all of the previous mentioned have the ability to do - that's why we play midfielders there - I would say osman is our best make shift 'forward' in our current squad.
  15. I kind of miss pax picking up on them - at least it was funny reading then! (where's the emoticon with zzzz's coming from it?)
  16. Can we start a where's dave thread in an aim to bring him back please?
  17. He was watched - never given the nod.
