  1. I think a start might be a bit much after his first appearance in the first team for over a year. But I do think he should maybe be brought on around the 60th or 70th at the City game if we're looking for a little more.
  2. Think you're a bit off there. He knows where the goal is and his headers are always on target, despite being doubled up on routinely. Not to mention he seems to have excellent feet for a big man and has made defenders miss and end up on the ground more than once. As his finishing improves I suspect we'll see a lot of goals out of him.
  3. Never deserved to win it tonight. Just not looking dangerous. Sad that Cahill couldn't just draw us level at the end though. Really think that if we're going to play 442 we need Baines to offer us some width. Arteta looks a joke, what is he playing at. Shame really, could've kicked on nicely today.
  4. Well Howard alone has seen us through that first half unscathed. What in the world is Cahill doing out on the left flank pumping crosses in? Complete waste. Wigan aren't throwing height forward so I can't see why we need Lescott at left back. Need to bring Baines in to sling the crosses over for Cahill to get onto.
  5. I can understand why Moyes wants Lescott for his height but I think he's even been poor in the air of late so Baines should get that solid run in and should be taking a lot of the dead balls for Arteta. If we can't afford to bench him, then it would be at least good to sub Arteta out in one of the upcoming fixtures.
  6. Sounds like a horrible game from what I've read. Anyone watching the game?
  7. Yeah, agree. As a third shirt I think it would sell and would be great to have in the closet.
  8. According to liveonsat.com the game isn't being broadcast live anywhere so there won't be any links. Does Everton TV usually play the Carling Cup games live?
  9. I don't see any links to our match yet.
  10. Just watching the Portugal Denmark game and it looks like our new boy just went off with what looks like a dislocated shoulder. :-(
  11. I can only imagine that the main issue with the train's lack of capacity is that currently a huge number of fans are able to walk to the ground. In a move to Kirkby a good number of those fans will be added to those already taking the train.
  12. Yes, another featherweight in midfield, just what they need. Really can't see why they'd spend that kind of money on a player like him. They have Cesc already and Diaby isn't dissimilar either. I'd much more suspect they're after someone more like Cana.
  13. Mbokani did look useful for them, in the first half anyway, seemed to tire and fall away after the break though. It didn't seem like Liege had much to bring on against Pool as the match drew on. Anyways, why don't we just buy Fellaini, apparently he's available for about 5 million.
  14. Moyes explained that the Frenchman's pedigree was one of the main reasons for his impending arrival. He told evertonTV: "It looks like we are going to bring Louis here. We are getting him for no cost just now which gives us a great chance to get him here.
  15. Or we could just tie up our transfers before letting everyone and their mother know we're interested.
  16. Zenit have a ton of cash and are not really looking to sell, I can't see this happening. Do think he'd be class in the premiership though. Couple other of the Russian nationals looked worth a look too.
  17. This may be it http://www.evertonfc.com/news/archive/moye...pth.html?page=1 Not exactly brimming with positivity, but not entirely bleak either.
  18. Well apparently he's the captain of Stuttgart. So with him, Moutinho and Cana that's 3 club captains we're after now. Should be no shortage of leadership, on the pitch anyway...
  19. We were pretty much crap. No one in the center of midfield to dictate play going forward. In the first half we had most of the possession but never really threatened going forward. In the second half we fell out of it more and more. Ossie really was the only bright spot, I think it would have been a different game if we'd started him. As to Vaughan's card my mate was in the first rows right in front of it and said the ball took a funny bounce as he was going in with his tackle. Striker's tackle and a bit heavy but not malicious.
  20. Not best pleased to hear this now. Can only imagine it means he's failed to pull off Kirkby. if so I have to think our transfer budget is probably minimal. I'm in no way for the move to Kirkby but I get the feeling a good deal of our on field progress was dependent on it. BTW, there was no mention of this tonight in Chicago from the club though the pub put the announcement up on the TVs.
