Is it bad that regardless of how talented an African player is, the very existence of the ACN is enough to make me think twice about them? Shudder to think back to those 2-3 really bad years when we lost 3-4 players to that fucking tournament.

I've always liked McGeady, completely natural footballer. He was born to dribble a football. Decision making can be lacking at times, but the ability to simply get into a dangerous area behind a defender is something that every team needs. Given Mirallas is our only other natural winger, we definitely need cover. No brainer imo.

There's a lot more football than the Premier League in England, it means local clubs don't have to compete with the PL for attendances at 3pm. FA Cup is similar, especially as the attendance can be a big cash-win for smaller clubs when they draw bigger clubs. EDIT: As to why, IIRC it's an agreement between the FA, Football League and Premier League.
