  2. I can't believe this is true, how they could agree to pay £2.5 for vaughan and think that Osman is worth just a mil extra? Absolutely ridiculous.
  3. Big N little o from me, again I've watched a lot of Championship games this season and fair play to this guy because he can run, but that's about it He loses the ball loads from what i know and he had a shocker in the play off semis...definately a squad player but to be honest I'd rather see our youngsters get game time ahead of him...waste of a transfer if you ask me
  4. We love Demba Ba, we got him from the hammers and he can't stop scoring, we love Demba Ba, he's gonna get the Toffees to the Champions League! He came in 2011 to the Premier League, none of the teams he faced could keep a clean sheet, When he jumped in the air, Only Cahill could compare, And now his favourite flavour is Toffee, Tof-fee, singing We love Demba Ba, his Dad sells crack to Daniel Agger, We love Demba Ba, he's gonna lead the Toffees to victory! To the tune off "I love Rock and Roll" by Joan Jett....I just made it up but what dyu reckon?
  5. I'm glad Moyes has reacted this quickly because it shows where his heart is, and I think that Johnny's right about us having quality at the club. The realisation here however is that come next summer if we don't have a trophy or europa league at the least, then more than a couple players will consider another club. Even though Moyes doesn't have a lot to work with, he's taken risks on signings in the past and we might need that this summer. I'd rather see us get 3 players of true quality than six average ones, but no matter what we're still light on the ground. We need another centre-back, and definately need a left back to cover baines. We obviously need a striker and we could do with a left-winger. I know Moyes will never say who he's going after until it's practically done, but it would be nice to know what areas are going through his mind.
  6. He certainly does, and on his day he can score great goals, from all angles, and crucial ones too...but I'm sorry how many of you have watched him at Cardiff consistently, instead of just relying on stats? He scored 20 goals this season, but almost all of them were before he got injured, then Cardiff went on a dreadful run over December and since he came back from injury he was basically non-existent. He scored an amazing goal against QPR near the end but that simply backs up my point. If we lose Saha and Beckford to injury =, Bothroyd is no replacement. I watched him play at the city stadium, more than a few times, and if we really want somebody to inspect every blade of grass at Goodison until he finds the most comfortable one, couldn't we hire someone cheaper than Bothroyd for it? Like...a gardener? His attitude on the pitch is entirely dependent on what mood he is in, some games he can go out and win every header, create chances and score beautiful goals. Most of the time, as you'll all find out if we sign him, he'll roll about on the floor, moan at the ref and wander around aimlessly. Seriously, just because he had a 1 in 2 ratio it's no clear indication of what a player is like for 90 minutes a game, over 38 games. in short, he will not take this club forwards, if anything it would be a backwards move. If we want good players on a free, like i said, let's get Burke instead. Again I've watched him play and he is someone who gives 100% at every chance. Burke is like Osman, Bothroyd is like the yak....nuff said
  7. Jack bastards, can't wait for the Swansea scum to turn up in their caravans and get pummeled by us....no chips on my shoulders by the way
  8. COME ON READING !!!!!!! 3-2!!!!!!!!!!

  9. But as soon as he gets good enough to warrant a number 9 on his back, someone will come in and buy him off us, and he'll go, which isn't what being an everton number 9 is... Mostly i don't give a crap what number people have, as long as they do there job, but when there's history behind the number you have to be careful about who carries it on.. If King Louis wasn't ready to take that mantle, what makes beckford a better choice? i'd rather see Saha wearing it :/
  10. So how does the money get allocated within the club then Louis? Do we have any ideas? I know that obviously a lot goes towards player wages and maintaining the club, but surely they have an idea based on the money we'll receive on how much can actually be made available for transfers? Even if we are broke surely finishing 7th instead of 17th means we've got the extra 800k per position, and the board can't base their spending on where we will finish so that money should be available to Moyes? Or is my thinking wrong on this...
  11. Do you mean how much do we get based on where we finish? The figure of £90m is spread over several seasons and contingent on many factors (whether they go down straight away, the positions they finish in in the league, whether they get european football etc) i think every position is a few hundred thousand increment, so for finishing 7th we should get a good few million, but I think the league winners only get around 18 mil is it? Not too sure on the exact figures but last time i checked every position was a £700,000 difference, so it's possible being 6 positions off top then we got somewhere around the 10mil mark at least, but how much of that was already spent through the season or will go to pay off debts i dont know
  12. If a player of Saha's quality preferred not to have the shirt, instead opting for number 8, because he was reluctant to accept the responsibility of being an Everton Number 9 and living up to that name, then someone like Beckford should be nowhere near it, and should refuse even if offered. In fact, I agree with the Donovan comment, although I didn't hold it against him as I actually like Donovan a lot and would like to see him back, just not with that number on his back.
  13. Amazing at championship level does not make you amazing at Premier level, certainly if we're supposed to be challenging for a European spot? Shane Long won't get us there, and if reading go up he'll stay with them til January at the least. He's been there 4 years and this season his hard work paid off, but he isn't the sort of player to ignite our front line. i agree with the £8m tag but I'd rather see that spent on a goalscoring midfielder, deco went to Chelsea for £8m, Van der Vaart to Spurs for £8m...maybe we could snap up an out of favour talent for that amount? But shane Long, no thanks, everyone thought Ebanks-Blake would set the prem on fire with Wolves, only to do no such thing. The jump between the premier league and the championship is getting bigger. Look how close it was in the premier league this year, hell QPR and Norwich will need at least 5 or 6 decent signings just to stay up. The championship is no indication of how good strikers are, defenders yes, strikers no. I'd rather klose any day of the week
  14. Nice to be back I agree, even though Bothroyd is on a free it would take too long to get him up to Premier League standard in the manner that we would play him. Let Fulham, or Wigan or Sunderland take him, he'll bag them 7 or 8 goals easy, sod's law against us no doubt, but I can't see him making the leap up because he just doesn't have the right attitude, or the workrate. Burke on the other hand has those 2 in spades, and he's a quality crosser when he wants to be, perfect to play alongside Cahill and Fellaini. On a free, chris Burke would happily sit on our bench behind Seamus and when we give him opportunities he'll take them. A lot more reliable and i'm actually really pissed off that he left Cardiff, along with Kevin mcNaughton he was consistently one fo Cardiff's best players. Whoever gets him on a free will be rewarded trust me.
  15. Being a Cardiffian I just want to throw my two pennies in here. A typical Bothroyd season will see him bag you plenty of goals in a short space of time, usually ten or 12 games, and usually at the start of the season. Then he'll get injured for a while, probably in and out of the physio's room every 6 weeks, and then if he does play again, will goal hang for most of the match, fall over at the slightest challenge, and winge until one random opportunity comes up and he gets the chance to score, in which case it might be a pearler, but that's a 1/50 chance. The truth is, Bothroyd really needs a team and manager that will help him get the best out of him over the next 3 or 4 years. This means not playing him every game, keeping him fresh and sharp and using him in a 4-4-2 formation as a target man. That's when he scored the most goals for Cardiff, and although i could see him being a decent signing for us, if we had an injury crisis like we tend to do, he won't be a good enough replacement, and we'll suffer the same as this season, playing decent enough football in 2/3's of the pitch, but not in the third that matters. For that reason he should either play in the SPL, where I'm sure he'll bag plenty of goals, or move to a team in the Prem that can afford to have him on the bench half the time. We need a striker that can come in and give louis some competition, not back him up, he's injured far too often to be relied on for the whole season. On another Cardiff note chris burke is free and he is definately the kind of player we want, faster than he might seem, great at beating his man and rarely stops running. He doesn't track back as much as he should which is his only real flaw as a wide player, but throw him on with 20 minutes left and he will create at least a handful of chances. Oh and hey guys...been a while
  16. hey guys just subscribed to evertontv to watch the match, how do i actually get on the norwich game page? cant seem to find it?
  17. Arguing over Jamie O'Hara? Just seems strange to me, he stood out at Portsmouth because it's Portsmouth....he wouldn't start for us, maybe a sub, but a squad player at best, we have to admit even if we have no money, we need a better class of player to compete for europe.
  18. I'm hoping noone comes in before we get our sky money, we can offload the Yak to someone desperate for a forward and willing to pay as near £10 mil as possible, and then get Donovan before the end of the transfer window. A strong start coupled with Arteta and Pienaar commiting to the club would help greatly, and if Donovan penned a contract as well, I'm not being funny, but Champions league is the minimum we could expect.
  19. I don't see that as too much of a negative, we would have a good mix of young and old here, Saha is past 30, and having another old timer in Bellamy on a short term contract would give us options in midfield and attack, and give the younger boys another veteran of the premier league to learn off. Plus Bellamy was in cracking form last season, and I saw this morning BBC football reporting Tottenham considering an offer of £4m, now, ex kopite or not, £4m for a player of Bellamy's quality and diversity, is a deal too good not to go for. Moyes must be able to raise £4m after selling Ruddy, Jukebox and possibly Vaughn.
  20. This is weird....anyone else think this is weird? weird
  21. I don't see how Liverpool are stronger, theyve signed a striker, a defender and a midfielder, but theyve lost 3 midfielders already with mascherano also looking for an exit, and insua also looking to leave, to me they look very thin on the ground and although they have a strong starting 11 I don't see them coping if for example torres gerrard and cole all get injured... I wouldn't say there is a big 4 anymore, I'd say there's a top 8...
  22. Why? We have strikers, too many in fact, most people on here are of the impression Anichebe needs this season to shine, we have Beckford and Saha, who with decent service should get goals, we have a decent goalscoring midfield if we add in Sessegnon or Donovan, and IMHO I think Yakubu is over the hill, won't start many games, and the games he does start, he won't score much, if anything. Yak on his day is a very dangerous striker, but Yak Day hasn't been around in so long I've sold the banners and Vuvuzelas with his face on.... I don't think scoring will be a problem this season at all, we have the talent to do it, I think keeping the lead and not conceeding liek we did so much last season is the main thing to concentrate on, which will be boosted by having a decent right-midfielder who can track back and not a fat lump who will stay up top, lightly jogging and looking absolutely exhausted most of the match....
  23. Given some teams will be forced to sell I'd love us to dump Yobo and get Onuhua, back up for left back, and maybe sell Yakubu and get Sessegnon....change all that around and we would be a force next season....one can dream
