  1. I'd like to point out that Gosling got his chance because we had absolutely no one else available due to injuries at that time. I'd still like to find out the truth behind him not signing, at least he has yet to kick a ball for the Geordies and to be honest he wasn't that good anyway
  2. Not if some of the reports I've seen from Turkey are to go by Louis, just hope we are not counting on cash from that deal. Black lads are sadly abused in that part of the world as well, is Joey happy, I suspect he isn't
  3. Even the blocked roads, the guy is a tit, give me Woy Wodgson any day http://www.champnews.com/html/newsstory.asp?id=8750
  4. If he's good enough then he's old enough Louis...................we've already got Joey Yobo out on loan
  5. Duffy played at Goodison last season in a Europa Cup game and he was magnificent. I recall saying at the time that his was the best debut I had ever seen from a kid at Goodison. I'm aware he had that freak accident from which he has now fully recovered so why send him out on loan, we have need of him now, we needed him against WH but he was left to warm the bench. It used to the case that young players were nurtured as they progressed through the ranks, good ones were never farmed out elsewhere, I do believe that such action is a load of bollocks. Colin Harvey, Brian Harris, Joe Royle and many others had baptisms of fire and succeeded because management at that time believed in them, what sort of message does this send to kids, 'push off we are thinking of flogging you as you are not good enough' We need players to have confidence at all levels, lets bring our kids on by showing faith in them rather than by giving them negative messages. In case anyone says it did Ossie and Seamus no harm, young Vaughan has been told he can go which is a joke when you look at the form of our strikers. When the likes of Harvey et al played subs hadn't been invented, they couldn't come on at anytime, if they got the nod it normally meant they were in from the off, Management is about sending the right messages to players, this again is a bad move in my book
  6. I think you'll find that they are fucking us Mike............................people who miss the obvious
  7. xcaption Now turn round and take it like a man
  8. One thing is certain no one is irreplaceable in any football club. Managers like players are judged on results, Roy Hodgson at Liverpool has gone from being manager of the year to the devil incarnate (I'm pleased to say although he is a decent bloke). It is utter folly to suggest that David Moyes is not replaceable, he is and will by whoever gets appointed next. I recall the day he was put in charge the general reaction was 'David who, that bloke at Preston, he is not good enough for us'. We will be in his debt for many years for bring us back from the brink but as I said earlier he seems like a man with no answers which I find to be a tad sad but EFC is more important than mere sentiment
  9. Dunc's how long did it take him to drop Saha, loyalty is one thing down right stupidity is another mate as any one could see he wasn't performing and hasn't for nearly a year, a goal scorer he once was but isn't now. The Yak started to get some form and had the carpet pulled from under his feet, like Beckford he needs confidence and Moyes is failing miserably to give him any. As for kids progressing to the ranks, it took a clamour from the fans to get Seamus a place, do we have to wave banners to get Duffy on the pitch. Actually he didn't try anything new last night he simply reverted to what he did last year when we had a string of injuries, as I said he is predictable mate and believe you me I take no pleasure in pointing out his faults as I have supported him through thick and thin, trouble is we now seem to be emaciated
  10. There was a time when those who have been anti-Moyes would have received a blast from me but not now. I also think he is fraid round the edges. His decisions of late are those of a man who has run out of ideas. We have a brilliant young centre back in Shane Duffy left on the bench last night because Moyes replaced the injured Jags with Hibbo, lunacy in my book. If a player is playing poorly drop him, it seems Moyes idea is make excuses and ignore the problem, Saha being a prime example. I would love Moyes to come good again but his rhetoric is that of a man who hasn't got a clue about what ails us, he should have as he is the manager. As we get to wards the season end Moyes position will become more and more untenable if this abysmal form continues. Why blame the players when he picks the team. Look at Blackpool, they have managed to win matches without spending hardly anything, their manager takes chances, Moyes alas doesn't and that is his weakness as others have found out.
  11. It is a shame when anyone so young (54) dies in such tragic circumstances, a road smash. The guy was a decent player for the Reds, always clean and he was sporting gentleman. He was the first Israeli International footballer to play in the English league..................RIP
  12. There is a big need to rebuild but clubs Chelsea try to buy from will up their asking price every time. Abramovich has said they must sell first but look at the age of the squad, no I'm not writing them off this season but I am saying that the writing is on the wall loud and clear :crying smiley: :Red card:
  13. Poor, poor, poor........................................................and shit
  14. Distin for me. Pienaar worked to no end, Coleman was his usual nonstop self and Leighton had an average match nothing like as good as he has been. Teta was off the pace and his short passing could only be described as suicidal at times, Tim was also below par. For me it was another poor performance, why can't we blood some kids. Hibbo is simply Hibbo, Duffy is our future..................another managerial cock up if you ask me. Distin hardly put a foot wrong all night, even went close to scoring on more than one occasion and he covered every blade of grass................big SD gets my vote
  15. Beaten again last night, they looked jaded, tired and most important of all old. Abramovich has taken a financial hiding over recent years, still a rich man but he has clearly curtailed big spending at the Bridge. A string of managers, Anchelotti being the only truly successful manager following the departure of Mourinho, and now he seems to be on the brink of the sack. It occurred to me last night; what happens if the Russian refuses to invest again in this aging squad, they have nowhere to go other than down. He could try and sell the club but who would buy it, lets face it their only real history is modern. I wonder what will happen to all those yuppies who jumped on the Chelsea bandwagon, they'll become Spuds or Citeh supporters I would guess. How do you see Chelsea's future, back to the gutter from whence they came?
  16. Shit we've let them back into it, 246 behind with four wickets remaining and yes we have yet to bat in our second innings................................Aussies do rain dance while preparing gallows for Ranting Ricky
  17. Bill, what happened to Mr Devious mate, I loved that avatar PS Hope you and yours had a good one
  18. This, even Liverpool supporters hated them more than they did us, the dirtiest most vile team ever assembled, Hunter, Bremner, Lorimer, Clarke et al
  19. Enjoy, cut and paste if link doesn't work its worth it http://wn.com/Bird_Fortune__Admiral_Sir_George_Parr
  20. Link isn't working Dunc; My own assessment is as follows The first half of this season is possibly the worst I can recall as a Blue. This season commenced with such high levels of expectation only see them all dashed with in the first month. Our fans deserve so much more than what this side has delivered, or failed to deliver. Shot shy forwards ruining some excellent approach play. People talk about us failing in the final third, in my book its the final sixth which makes those failings inexcusable. The players must take some of the blame as should the manager. His persistence in playing a woefully out of touch Saha has cost us dearly. For a player of his experience to squander so many passes beggars belief. Even when he gets himself into a position to strike or pass, which is rare,he has consistently made the wrong decision. What forwards we have, the Yak has been more like the Yuck and Beckford flatters to deceive although he must be given a run at some stage because he does get into scoring positions, unlike his so called seniors. Equally the midfield play has often been naive. Mikel Arteta's form has been poor as a result his contribution as been awry, please lets make sure that when he returns others take free kicks and corners because Teta is struggling to get the ball off the ground let alone past the first man. Since his arrival at the club Moyes has been like a breath of fresh air, our fortunes have been on the rise but I'm more than concerned he may have lost his touch. His answers to all the problems faced this season has been we'll stick with the same old thing, other teams know this and it makes us predictable especially against the blood and guts teams who break up our play rather too easily. IMO Tim Howard, who is a good keeper, deserved to be dropped judging by the balls he has dropped this season and looking at how easily he is inTIMadated (pun intended) but Moyes failed in his duty, what must Mucca think in the reserves, can't do much for team spirit which is vital to Moyes's style of management. Jags is starting to play a bit after having a less than inspiring start to the season however praise should be lavished on four players who have kept on when others seem to have thrown the towel in, Distin,Cahill,Baines and Seamus Coleman. Distin has an imperious quality about him, for a big man he is so quick. Leighton has been oozing class all season long despite the fact so many of his superb crosses have been wasted, will we be able to keep is my concern. Tim Cahill, never the quickest but always the bravest, that lad fights the cause and never sits back on his haunches. Seamus Coleman again he may never be a world beater but his heart is huge, his courage immense and I have never seen him stop trying. IMO Moyes should now write this season off, yes I'm concerned that we will struggle against Scunthorpe as they knock the ball round very nicely and their pitch gives them a huge advantage (MOTD game I'm sure, they always pick a potential giant killing a we never let them down) It is essential that Beckford, Duffy and others who spend too long on the bench are blooded asap as that is where our future lies. Unfortunately I think Moyes will continue with his old system, if he does then the calls for his head may well become a clamour before the season is over. COYB
  21. I have a smile on my face the width of the Mersey, the Aussies don't like it up'em you know
  22. Just popped in to wish you all the very best for Christmas and New Year, my health is picking up so who knows one day I may just start posting again. I won't discus the blues at present as it may just tempt fate this afternoon. Quick one for you An easy breakdown of how the Irish economy was cured by video http://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DPu3IT1kGavE&h=08214 or by story A German billionaire arrives in a small Irish town and parks his BMW outside the local hotel. He enters the hotel to be greeted by the owner. The German says that he wishes to stay in the area but he would first like to check each bedroom before deciding if he's to stay at this hotel. As proof of his intention he gives the landlord a E100 note saying that if he was satisfied after his inspection then he could retain the money. The landlord agrees and the German begins his inspection. At this point the landlord takes the 100 euro note and rushes off to see his butcher. He gives him the note saying he has now settled his bill in full. The butcher takes the note and gives to the pig farmer again telling him he had settled his bill in full. The pig farmer then takes the note and pays his supplier at the local farmers cooperative paying his debt in full. The boss of the coop takes the bill to the pub and pays off his bar debt. the publican then gives it to the local prostitute for services rendered. She takes the bill back to the hotel as she owes 100 euros for use of rooms. At this point the German was just completing his inspection, he tells the landlord that the accommodation is not suitable picks the bill and leaves.....................everyone gets paid without doing anything extra.........................I'm moving to Ireland ha ha ha
  23. I got them all right Bill so you can call me the winner
  24. Without doubt Brum were us about 5 years ago yesterday, marked tight, played for each other and attacked to a plan. it is not pretty to watch but its effective, they had a plan and carried it out, well done Brum. We actually played some very good stuff in the second half. I was pleased to see the back of Saha as his approach to our last few games has been crap, contract talks having stalled so he is not interested. If we sign Huntelaar and get him playing he'll bring more to the table than a sulking Saha is doing. The problem with Louis is that on his day he is sublime, a treat to watch but when his heart isn't in it he should be shot. I look at yesterdays match as a part of a learning curve, wait until we have beaten Sunderland out of sight before getting too upset, we do have a very good team. One other thing I wish some Blues wouldn't sound like Citeh fans, Brum have gone 15 games unbeaten, they are a good team playing in a fashion that suits them, there is no need to be disrespectful
