  1. Thanks for that Bill, just to tempt Mike a little more, he is getting a tad warm, try the Funland
  2. It is a great read mate. There have been two recent books on the subject, Men from the Hill Country and also Across the park, both are excellent little reads. Did any of you lot know that we celebrated the 130th birthday of the club using the name Everton FC just before Christmas. On the 23 December 1879 we beat St Peters 6 - 0 in a match played in Stanley Park, even the club missed that one
  3. Yet another total give away clue...................Tinker Dill...................some one get it please
  4. He was due to be introduced at a press conference today, it has been called off due to snow, he can make it but the press can't
  5. E-mail with my guesses on its way mate
  6. Answers on here Bill or PM to you mate?

  8. It seems highly probable that Owen Coyle will make the move south from Burnley to Bolton. I honestly thought he would remain with Burnley to see the job through, he struck me as that type of guy. Does he believe that he has taken them as far as he can, no money to do anything to improve the side and possibly a substantial increase in pay at Bolton. Its a shame because like many people I have a soft spot for the Clarets, great club history and they always used to produce really good football, it was great to see them back in the top division. If Coyle does go who will replace him, Alan Irvine anyone? I suspect that they will go for the likes of Curbishley which would IMO be a mistake as he has all the passion of a dead flounder
  9. I thought they were tongue in cheek enties Bill, you can add Bernie Wright to that list. What are your top five in your time as a supporter?
  10. Tbh Mike I think you could be right but in saying that I believe that lad deserves a push and if the player he is deputising for is injured it could come like a kick in the teeth to be left out yet again after earning rave reviews against Spuds. If Donovan plays he could end up packing the midfield.................7 - 1 to us, honest
  11. Don't be sorry Mike just cus you're wrong mate tbh I doubt if Pip is upto running the full pitch all day following his return from injury, hanging round the middle of the park and barking out orders. We will also be looking for a place play Donovan as well or will his loan start from the bench
  12. We know how we can play against Brum, Forest are fired up by Billy Davies, we at home so it will do me fine, I expect it will be Brum
  13. Yes you're spot on there and I hate Leeds more than any other club...............their fans are total scum as are the majority of their players...............any one remmeber the Battle of GP in the sixties and we carried the can for those pricks
  14. I was told that we had watched him, as Romney says he is not a kid so why is he only showing now, when he went to Leeds he was more of a jobber than anything. Jermaine has a bloody big mouth on him as well, that lack of respect would never help him to become endear by Moyes, not for me and I don't think the gaffer would want him for reasons stated
  15. The boss is without any doubt well aware of the capabilities of both players, Coleman's presence has made Hibbo pull his socks up. SC is a huge talent, he has speed and control crossed with excellent distribution, his was one of the most effective home debuts I have ever seen, and I've seen a few over the years. My Christmas retro shirt carries the lads name. Hibbo is injured, he may need to see a specialist hence Seamus will now get his chance, woe betide him if he slips up because Hibbo will be ready to take the shirt back on his return. The big bonus out of Hibbo's injury is that we will all have a chance to fully assess Seamus full potential. Lets not forget young Duffy who must soon be given more chances, he was that good against Bate................with lads like these coming through our future is in safe hands lads, don't knock the kids just cheer for them when they get their chance
  16. Ian Caldwwell & Dustin Thomason The Rule of Four
  17. Fascinating that little lot Bill, trouble is that who ever is investigating these companies will almost certainly run into a brick wall as it is normal to show the actual ruling shares to be 'held in a trust' the trustees are just front men for the actual owners, it is legal but makes a total mockery of the 'fit owner test' applied by the PL. For all of you wanting us to be owned by foreigners, no way if these events are anything to go by. I also feel that Brum will have a rude awakening, the guy who has supposedly bought them out didn't have enough to do it last term, now he has been successful, if indeed the money has come from him on top of which a further £40 mil has been promised for transfers, the world is in recession yet he can come up with that sort of money................I'm deeply suspicious
  18. Hi Reece and welcome to Toffee Talk. I'm not sure about other S Africans being on the forum if there are they'll spot your post. As fans we're quite happy to have steven Pienaar here, you must be a big fan of his
  19. From what I have read this morning both are looking for permanent transfers to Well, only a deal needs thrashing out here. I agree with Patto, Ruddy must be a better keeper than Carlo Nash, Bill and myself already are better than him He is young with plenty of time to mature, rather have him here than sell him for buttons. Luke has found his scoring level, Danny Cad is also scoring in Scotland having failed at Div 2 Bradford, last term Luke got booed at Huddersfield because they thought he was gash, unfortunately they could be right
  20. Did anyone spot those New Year fireworks, they were like flares but rose slowly in the sky, a blaze of red then drift for ages on the wind, there must have been fifty or sixty of them crossing the sky. I had never seen them before nor had anyone with me, most went off at midnight,,,,,,,,,,,,,a very impressive free display with these strange 'floaters' being the star attraction When I was a kid everyone listened out for the tugs on the river sounding fog horns at midnight, times have changed so much
  21. This was some of the most harrowing TV I've seen in a long long time. That shot across a bay, the tide had retreated much further than is normal but out on the horizon a wall of water, constantly getting bigger was about to engulf women and children just playing on the beach.............they simple disappeared, shockingly accurate shots
