great news. Only Jags still on the sick bench now. The more game time the better for Mikel.

  3. cheers bill, I went for the old hall street in the end, a bit cheaper and location seemed like it was decent enough. I'll probably be asking next where the best pre match pubs are! We'll probably be out all day anyway as we'll be arriving to Manchester at 8:30 in the morning. c1982....see you there then!
  4. don't want to start a new topic but new advice request! anyone from Liverpool please! Looking a few apartments that are pretty decent prices. one is much cheaper but not sure if the area is no good and maybe further away from stuff. want to be pretty central for bars etc. The cheap one is at Kingsley road L8. A bit further south than the other two. One is on Old Hall Street nearer to the docks. One is Hatton Garden's L3. Can anyone reccomend one area over the other? cheers
  5. Surely an International first choice keeper won't want to spend his life sat on the bench? While it's good to have 2 quality keepers available, I think he'll have t play some if he's to be kept happy.
  6. Fantastic goal! great work from bainers, tidy pass and great finish ossie. COME ON YOU BLUES
  7. anyone have the link? I can't find it on Everton tv
  8. I saw that Arteta rumour on kipper. Mikel himself has been saying on Twitter that he's hoping to be back for the derby. If he could be ready by then I don't see why he couldn't go on the bench tomorrow and get 10-15 minutes if were doin well. I'm not the pysio though so don't know quite how well he's doing! 2-0 win I reckon, were playing good football at the moment and I think we can keep it up and break another teams unbeaten run.
  9. cheers. I've gone with Lower Gwladys Street 1. Row GG. I will have a Chelsea fan with me by the way, but he's not a very passionate one, maybe 90 minutes of a full Goodison under floodlights in the Street end will turn him.
  10. Off to Everton v Chelsea on 10 Feb, first home match in a while. Can anyone advice on what Gwladys Street lower 1 is like view wise? It's the only area with seats available not at the back rows. There's some seats 8 rows back but not sure if that'll be a bit low view wise and then there's some further back just behind the stand entrance and a long a bit which I think would be a better pick. Other option is Park End 7 which has some seats available in decent locations. Everyone seems to be saying Gwladys Street is the place to be atmosphere wise which is why I'm keen to get there unless that above mentioned area is considered no good. cheers

  12. that really is the most vague and unconvincing offical news article i've ever seen. I'd already seen that same interview on another site and it's almost like the person who looks after the site was starting to feel guilty at not being given any kind of news from thos in the know so just stuck up what he'd seen. Nothing from everton at all in there at all really, if you hadn't been following the rumous and just went to the OS you'd be quite bemused by the headline and openening line saying "Neil Shock at Switch" as at no point before the had they said that he'd been sold!
  13. Fuck Nani...bad attitude little Ronaldo wannabe. He's got some skills but not a complete player and I don't think him and Moyes would get on in much the same way that Ferguson and Nanin clearly don't get on. I don't see Rooney leaving unless forced to. While we all may laugh at his "dedication", he's clearly happy at the club who have given him an opportunity to play at the top level winning trophies regularly and playing with big name players which we he wasn't really getting at Everton. He doesn't strike me as the kind of player that would really enjoy get on that well playing in Spain, I think he'd get a lot of cards as he is very physical where as Ronaldo is made for the Spanish league enjoying the space and chance of a bit of twinkle toe action safe in the knowledge that if someone breathes on him he'll probably get a foul.
  14. I can't say I've seen enough of Duffy to be confident in him dealing with the likes of Tevez to be honest but people sure seem confident of the lad. While I encourage youngsters to play I don't want to see us forced into relying on an 18 year old centre back who's only played a couple of games for us.
  15. Link to Article I don't think it would be worth selling at that price to be honest. We've been short enough of players as it is without getting rid of one in a position that we have struggled in. He's played pretty decent and has good experience. For the money we'd get for him we can't replace him so unless he is demanding to go I'd say NO. I probably wouldn't have him in the starting 11 in a full squad or nearly full squad but we don't have that at the moment so we should be sticking.
  16. I'd accept Essien in a part exchange deal if he's apparently not that great. 20 million plus Essien would be acceptable! I'd say he's played very well for us over at least the last 8 or 9 games since playing and getting used to playing in that more defensive holding role. The only concern if that is to be his position is what will happen when Rodders comes back. While it's not an upsetting dilema it's a position where you expect the same player to play week in week out and it'll be interesting to see what Moyes does when he has a full quota of midfield so no need to play people out of position. Fellaini Piennar Arteta Rodwell Bilya ? or would rodders and fellaini be the other way round, or not on together at all? Fellaini/Rodwell Piennar Arteta Bilya Cahill for 4-5-1 formation
  17. big news, Fellaini's dad says he wants to see his son play for a league winning/champions league side. My dad personally thinks I'm better off sticking with my pretty average job and not shooting too high in life. Chelsea may indeed be interested but I'd say there's very little news in this.
  18. I expect the same starting line up as agaisnt the Arse. score prediction, no idea, it's a tough one, were playing well and I hope we can come out with something from it, we could do with a win but I'd settle for a draw. Could certainly do with kicking off a decent run of wins after all therese single point good performances.
  19. unfortunately while I wouldn't say we lack amibition we have little means to achieve it. Or at least to achieve the same ambitions that Man City have. If asked who is more likely to make the champions league in the next 2 season then I would say them without a doubt. If I was Lescott then I would have done the same thing and taken both the money and bigger chance of big stage success and chance to be a part of a side bringing in big world known quality footballers. Even without the extra money it certainly looks like a tempting prospect...so long as your actually getting to play when you get back from injury of course!
  20. not enough went donovan's way but i felt he made a real difference. he showed great pace and amibtion going forward, made himself available and took players on, no doubt much to the dissapoint of some of the usual nay sayers. Fellaini also played well but i've come to be confident in what i expect from him week in week out now. pienaar worked hard as did cahill but for me donovan was a player that made a big difference whenever on the ball.
  21. great game, i watched at pub with a load of arsenal fans all who admitted we deserved the win. most enjoyable stat of the season was 72% possesion over a 5 or 10 minute period during first half at emirates. no one does Arsenal for possession! good hard work and until the last 15 minutes we played hard for that win. only thing that annoyed me was we played too deep in the last 10/15 mins when we needed to get out of our box. I was so worried when pienaar ran through one on one, he's not the most reliable finisher but he took it beautiffully. all round great result despite the dissapointment of not getting the win, now we invite man city to ours to see if they can do better than Arsenal good at home. Donovan played brilliantly, lots of pace, vision and wasn't scared to take players on either, I look forward to seeing more of him.
  22. Donovan starts. and many will be pleased to see Bilya dropped to bench. Howard Neville Neil Heitinga Baines Donovan Osman Fellaini Piennar Cahill Saha I pressume donovan will play there but a bit of a guess as i know he's primarily a forward.
  23. based on the commentary I heard with us being pretty much walked over by Carlisle I'd say it probably didn't work all that well! I put Neville at the back because it's what I think Moyes will do if Hibbert isn't fit.
  24. my prediction. Team will be: Howard Neville Neil Hetinga Baines Fellaini Piennar Osman Bilya Cahill Saha (vaughan if saha not back) that's predicted team not desired team by the way. How long's Distin been out with a hamstring injury now? Seems like quite a long time. score prediction: either 2-0 to them or 1-1. or 2-1 to them! Sorry not very good prediction but i'm not too sure, Arsenal have been giving away goals but I can't see us keeping a clean sheet.
  25. I watch a lot of the Arsenal games as I enjoy watching their football. I've found that the best way to cause them problems is to get amongst them and break up their passing game. A couple have suggested leaving Cahill out for this game but I see it as an ideal game for him as he is quite happy to chase around and harry opponents all game. Bilya I can see struggling as he won't get time on the ball, he could however do a job as an attacking mid role in the centre as some have suggested. The worst thing I find watching us against Arsenal is that you will spend half the game watching them pass it around the outside of your area while most of our team defend around the box. While this always makes Arsenal look impressive and dominant they normally struggle to break this down. Though the Ramsey goal against West Ham was a perfect example of what happens when they can squeeze that ball through a gap and make the perfect attack v defence goal. What you really need to be wary of against the Arse is when you are attacking as a large number of their goals especially the important ones when they need a goal come from counter attack. They have pacy players and some killer passers of the ball that will have them in front of goal in a matter of seconds. If I knew what to do about it I'd be a better man than Moyes!
