Pretty much out for the season - little point in bringing somebody back for the last game or two when they will not be match fit . Shame - he has been a massive player this season, so him being out could make the difference between Europe or not come May. Only shining light is that Davies has been amazing since Xmas, so he will have a run in the team until the end of the year if he stays fit. If he continues with his form we will definitely know if he is one to keep long term at the club.

I agree, his general concentration and attitude (if that the right word) looks a better now than it did last season and the beginning of this. All keepers make mistakes - it happens to them all. He has definitely reduced the number of mistakes, particularly the 'head in your hands' glaring mistakes that he was beginning to get an unwanted reputation for. Of late he is coming out of game with us taking about good saves and good kicking and distribution, rather than fook ups. he is definitely taking less risks with the ball at his feet. If the pass isn't on and are opposition closing very fast - there is no shame in putting it in the stands if needs must. If these types of performances continue and become the norm then he becomes an asset in our quest for regular top 4/6 finishes.

These home game against teams below us are now the bread and butter games that we now HAVE to be winning if want a top 4 or even top 6 finish this season. We have the more expensive squad who are on bigger wages, so little excuse for any players to come off the feild as second best in these game. Unlike playing the likes of Chelsea et al, WE have the 'quality' in these games, so if we at least match the opponents with desire and hardwork, then no reason not to win these games.

Heart was hoping for a result tonight, but game ended up as expected. Very difficult to get a results against a team this well organised and full of top draw player. Doucoure a massive miss in a game like this. Fingers crossed he will be back soon. Biggest positive - Pickford, very solid, gave away a penalty, but put that to the back of his mind and pulled off some great saves afterward. No superise, our right hand side is a little weak, pretty sure that going to be addressed this summer.

They don't look flash, but they are very solid (still to lose a single goal at home since Touchel took charge) but still have quality players all over the pitch. They are in veey much in form, and i think will finish second. Efficient german way!!

Not saying he's playing bad. I just can't remember last time I've seen him take a shoot in any game. I think he should try and get a shot off more ofter.

They have only had a couple of chances. Pickfords save wass good as a goal, so we are still in this game at 1-0, so plenty to play for. They break well, so keep it tight for next 20mins and push in the last quater. Points where never going to be easy in this game, but we are still in it.

You are right about the quality and depth off it. We are all bias Everton fans, which is how it should be. However, taking away this bias I read an article today - the OPTA AI computer predicting the final table after the full 38 games and using this seasons stats to date. It brings us in joint 8th on 61 points. However there are only 6point between 3rd and 9th position!!! The bookies still have us about 7th or 8th. I also ready our squad was about the 7th most valueble and are wage bill is about the 8th hoghest. So i have no doubt that if we finish in the top4 it has to be considered a significant acheivement, even a top 6 finish is punching above our weight. So we will still need to turned some antisipated defeats in to draws and draws in to win. This AI computer predicts that 67 point would get you in the top 4 this season.

I think Ancelotti's tone has changed this past week, I think Ancelotti has well and truly thrown the gauntlet down to the team. We are now bona fida playing for 'Top 4' place, and I think we will be going out on the pitch with this attitude - against any team now. I thought until we where all getting a little carried away talking about 'Top 4' a few months (its a long season)- but my view has changed after the Liverpool results and reinforced further beating Southampton and West Brom - We are well and truly in the mix come the last 12 games of the season - we have a manager that will not be phased or panic about being in this sort of position come the business end of the season. I think we can give Chelsea a good game - It might actually help that they are sitting just above us, rather than below us. Look forward to Ancelotti's line up - given up guessing who he will play and what formation will be used - fortunately opposition manager are in the same boat!!

For me the team could very much be improved on the right hand side GK RB Keane Godfrey Digne - Cover: Holgate, Mina and Coleman, Niels Allan Doucoure - Cover : Davies, Gomes RW James Richarlison - Cover : Iwobi, Gylfi, King, plus another DCL - Cover: another So to me we want a new marauding RB, a right winger type and a couple more attack minded player (replacing - Bernard, Kean, Tosun, Walcott and Bolaise as hopefully all these wages will be off the books - maybe Iwobi if offers and replacement found). If all those listed move on , I think there is scope to bring in 2-3 decent attack minded players that could cover all across the front four - AM, RW, LW, CF Pickford is playing well at this moment - but I do see this as an area on the pitch that could improved (but willing to be proved wrong from now till the end of the season!!)

If we do get a top 4 this season - then we need to go big in the transfer market, getting the best we possibly can, especially those who might well be first 11 players. We have to make the most of any window of opportunity. I like the approach of purchasing of both older experienced (Allan and Rodrigues) players as well as top young players (Kean and Godfrey) roughly a 50%-50% mix - the key for me now is quality, quality, quality - Not the number of players coming in. We seem to have a good blend with Brands and Ancelotti selecting players - Fans and media being quite vocal on how well Godfrey is doing - I love how honest Ancelotti is about how Godfrey has surprised him, and that he didn't know that much about him before we signed him. Basically saying to the fans - "I can't take the credit for signing him, that credit belongs to somebody else". I don't think many would do that. Sounds like there is lots of trust and respect between Brands and Ancelotti.

at this moment in time, head says CL based purely on financials and the fact that in 2024 CL qualification rules might change which might benefit team who qualify and do reasonably well over the next few seasons in the CL. CL qualification also helps attracted the best players to the club - given we are in a building process with Ancelotti then signing the next best thing young right back and other to the squad this summer could be massive in seasons to come - its a big moment in the clubs history and CL qualification this season could be a catalyst for a more sustained success in the coming years. add CL, to Ancelotti as manager and new stadium under construction - we would be a very attractive club to join this summer.

they have not been scoring that may either. Pressure is off a little bit in this game having taken 9 points in 9. Don't get me wrong, they are a direct rival for a European place, so could be considered the proverbial 6 pointer - if do take points it will be massive bonus. However, if we get nothing in this game, it does not off kill our top 4 dream, like maybe it does if we had of lost points against Southampton or the Baggies. I would take 0-0 now, as Chelsea are an in form team, and I actually think they will finish second in the league. They are due a defeat now though!!! in this strange season

I think his arrival was a suprise to all of us, and I dont think anybody had him on his their 'wish' list. I get a feeling he was one of those player who was young and had the right 'stats' for the profile of player needed. An element of gamble in his purchase, he either kicks on and becomes top draw or never fills his potential. I will give anybody the benefit of the doubt, but like I said not looking like he is going to be the player that will make us competative at the level we are aiming for.

I agree with that, don't mine if we dont bring in another out and out striker as long as the RW player is a Richarlison type, who can score goals and even step in as a CF if needed.

I was really hoping we would see a much better player this season. We have seen it in fits and starts, but their needs to be more consistent performances from him. Crossing is generally poor and he doesnt get enough goals for me. Need wide attacking players to be a genuine goal threat, and unfortunately he isn't. I would love to see him come good, but I don't think he is a player that is going to make us a regular top 4/6 contender in the coming years. If any reasonable offer came in, I would move him on, otherwise he is a squad player at best for me.

I think its the right hand side that needs most attention. Some additional quality on that side of the pitch and we could really strech opposition teams. Go for the best young attacking RB we can possibly afford. Emerson of Real Betis/Barcalona or Aarons. I would not be agaist Vasques from Real Madrid also joining on a free transfer. There is room to squeeze both in the starting 11, but Vasques can cover as a RB as well.
