EFC fan in oz

What really gets me is when players get stretchered off when their not injured, just seems like such a waste of time. When Oz plyed Bahrain over here a couple of weeks ago must have been about 5 players taken off on stretchers only for them to reach the sideline and jump straight back up and onto the pitch. Droobies right they should have like a 5 minute rule if you go off injured at least then players would only go off if they really needed to

Have to agree with most people Beattie really should be the one leaving, i want him to do well but he just doesn't seem to be bothered half the time and when he does try well he doesn't look good enough. Get a young striker in from the lower leagues or from abroad although we could always give Faddy another chance upfront. Also reckon its time to get rid of VDM not like it would make a difference to the team, has only played a few games in his time here and with the wages he's on we could sign a decent winger who isn't always injured. I'd like to see us show some ambition in January and sign some players who aren't just going to be sold a year or two later. Nugent from all reports would be a top signing and if reports are true about SWP leaving should definitley try for him-now he would make a difference to the team

A win should really be expected at boro their not exactly setting the world alight although they've got some decent players. Would like to see Davies play this especially with him coming out in the press mid week saying he might have to move on if he doesn't get first team football-good chance for him to show that he's good enough. Not sure if Cahill will start this one he only got on a plane last night or this morning can't remember which one so he'll be jet lagged plus tired as the socceroos have been doing alot of promotional work as well as playing. Go for a 2-0 with AJ and Ossie to score although i think we might leave it late until we score.

Great to see he's on the scoresheet leaving us with two youngsters coming through now then in him and Anichebe. Beattie must be worrying about his place now with AJ a definite starter and two highly rated youngsters coming through. Saw that Scott Spencer replaced Vaughn and hopefully he'll make the grade to.

I'd sell him just think that this is the best money we'd ever get for him. To replace him well we've already god vdm and faddy so shouldn't be to much problem there however seems like we should have got Buckley also when we had the chance.

Poor performance really didn't seem to get going at all in the first half and Rennie was awful. Can't keep on playing Kilbane he's just very bad and he still believes he has the pace to beat players. Howard looked great though hope we can get him permanently as he looks alot safer than Wright. Lescott however failed to impress really looked a bit nervous but hopefully once he settles he'll be a good buy. Arteta never really got going seemed to be hacked down everytime he got the ball although Ossie looked quality. Even though he's small seems to be able to hold off defenders and really likes to run at defenders, also he was the main man once we begun coming into the game. Thought Faddy played well to when he came on looked sharp and did more than Beattie although Faddy probally had the better service. Decent result but we could have won that just never seemed to get going.

Someone said it was on ESPN but not on any of our fox channels over here have to look for one of the streaming football sites to watch it. Anyway think we'll win this 2-0 goals from Cahill and Arteta, although i'd love to see Beattie or AJ get a goal. Don't really know alot about Watford so just hope that we can dictate the game and get a win.

Still hoping that Davies comes good and as a winger not a centre mid. Much prefer to see Arteta pulling the strings in the middle of the park with Davies, Ossie or VDM out wide (not kilbane!!). He used to be quality all he needs is a good run of games to build his confidence up, just seemed to be very inconsistent last season.

Think either Roeder or Coleman will be first to go, can't see Fulham having a good season and with one or two injuries Newcastle could be in trouble as well as not really having a quality striker. Might be wrong but seems they haven't replaced Shearer or brought someone in to cover Owens injury. Fans will get on Roeders back early to if results aren't their so has to be a favourite.

Was there last night pretty poor game although have to agree Carney was the best player on the pitch and he's really versatile was everywhere last night. Travis Dodd looked good to for the Aussies, don't know if anyone but Carney and a younger Corica would be able to hack it in the premiership. Anyway it was good to see the Aussies get a good result and their was a fair bt of atmosphere at the ground to which you don't always find at some of the sports events over here. Bring on the A-league next week and more Carney magic for Sydney FC

Some good stuff being released recently especially in the English indie scene think i might check out Hard Fi when their over in Oz anyone know if their good live?

Probally a mod because he's been on the forum alot longer than most of us have mate. Anyway this will probally be a decent test for us and a win would be nice make me even more excited about the new season well as excited as you can be on the other side of the world. Teams beginning to look good just wish we'd signed a left winger then i think we might have a good chance of a top 6 finish without one think were looking at 8th. Still its progress i guess think we'll win this though although i don't know anything about Bilbao so could surprise us 2-0 beattie and aj to both score would be a good way to end pre season.

Maybe we could play it in cup games but against decent opposition i reckon we'd really struggle with 4-3-3. Can see Moyes playing Cahill just behind the two strikers though in some games and maybe even use Faddy their. Whoever starts the Bilbao game will most likely start against Watford and same goes for the formation. Doesn't seem as if Moyes has moved away from 4-4-2 in pre season so expect thats what we'll play.

Been an Evertonian since birth, so was my Dad and so was his Dad etc. just in the blood, guess thats what you get when your families from Liverpool. Now instead of 3pm usually up at 3am waiting for the scores and watching another boring Chelsea or Man Utd game to pass the time as our game plays out in text form on some internet site. Can't wait to get back to Goodison next year though just don't experience that kind of feeling anywhere else.

If he was testing out partnerships in these games wouldn't it be best for him to also play Beattie and Johnson together but looks like there playing in different games. These games are just for the lads to have a run out be interesting to see if the youngsters get a game e.g Viddarson, Spencer and Anichebe.

I'd play Osman on the wing with Arteta and Cahill in the centre and VDM if he's fit on the left. Definitly have Valente at left back though.

Think Thompson's back at Melbourne now was only on loan at PSV and with Guus leaving to coach Russia i doubt they'll take up the option of signing him.

I'd like him in the side because if Arteta gets injured where is that creativity going to come from. Also 3.5 million really isn't to much however i doubt we have it after signing Lescott and AJ

Sounds like Neill might be off to barca a bit bizarre really but their new assistant is the aussies assistant manager atm Johan Neeskens. I wouldn't mind Emerton although it's Grella for the Aussies who ahs impressed me.

Great atmosphere over here at the moment everyones really getting into it, amazing for a country where football hardly got a mention less than a year ago. Thought Bresciano when brought on made the difference he's a quality player although what Kalac was doing for the second Croatia goal i'll never know, gotta bring back Schwazer. lol What was Poll doing, oh well the siminuic incident of getting booked 3 times will no doubt go down in football trivia history. Tbh i'd take barton think he's got all the attributes of being both a d*ck head and a great player but we do need to improve our squad. Fair enough most don't do what he's done but who knows how much these events have been blown out of proportion by the media. Anyway i think he'd be great to have in our team but if their is any sign of attitude problems or him being a disruptive influence we'd have to get rid of him.

Timmy's quality and he's doing wonders for the exposure of Everton over here in Oz perfect player for a PR department, still not quite as popular as Kewell with the Australian press though. However if United were paying us 9 million for him as is the figure that has been mentioned i wouldn't be surprised if we'd seriously consider it i mean tomas rosicky only cost something like 8 million.
