  1. I think Bill is saying that if Reyes regains the form he had for the gunners, he would beat out Ossie, Felli and Cahill. For me, that is a no brainer. As much as I love those three, pre-Spain Reyes would be a dream come true for this club. But, if he doesn't find that form, he'd still be a fantastic back-up.
  2. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=717126&sec=europe&cc=5901 linked with him again. would love to see it come off as a loan and maybe a buy in the summer.
  3. Is there some limit on how many times a player can be loaned from one club to another? I would like to Manny back as well, but loans has got to closing in on a record or something.
  4. I think you forgot to include a graph showing the huge tranfer purse for January.
  5. sorry, didn't mean to write Mick's name there...got things mixed up. The rest of the coaching staff is who I meant to name...especially the fitness guys.
  6. seeing as we have already got a work permit for him...how about we try and resort that loan deal for Ever Banega...might be a fair bit of business if we can get him free. Also, haven't heard much from Nani this term...since Davey and Fergie seem to get a long so well I wouldn't mind seeing him here for a few months. Given ours and King Louis injury records, its probably a good idea to secure the services of a goal scorer who 1) isn't a bumbling lazy oaf and 2) a portuguese speaker who can score. Jozy Altidore may also be a good one to look at loaning. He's not seen much play at Hull and might not get a ton here, but he is a physical force to reckon with and my US bias would rather see him training with DM than Phil Brown in the lead up to the WC. Would do my heart good to see 3 yanks on the squad (especially if the 2 new ones did well!)
  7. probably never, but otherwise January.
  8. i've actually got a good feeling about this game. We seem to do well with Sunderland most years both home and away. And considering how our play has been progressing I can see 2-0 (Saha, Heitinga) being a realistic finish. I'd like to see. -----------Howard---------- Coleman Heits Neill Baines -----------Felli----------- -----Bily Peanut Ossie----- -----------Cahill---------- --------King Louis---------
  9. The only true sports are motor racing, bull fighting and mountain climbing. All else is recreation. But, really the two recreation teams i care about are Everton and my University of Oregon Ducks (Am. Football)
  10. I'm really starting to beleve the idea that all these injuries are a little more than bad luck. Sure there are now 2 or 3 that were not preventable, but having seen well over half our squad get one of 2 injuries, a hamstring strain/tear or a knee problem, I've really got to believe that the fault lies with Mick Rathbone. No other club has had the injury turn over we have; calling it bad luck is a cop out.
  11. just heard the commentators for the Real Madrid-Zaragoza match say that Gago was on his way to Goodison on loan. I'd love to see him here.
  12. I agree he'll find himself at another club very soon, but I really doubt it'll be at the Toon. I don't think they'll be looking for a half rate manager when they're sitting 10 pts clear atop the championship. It was definitely a harsh decision. Citeh were doing quite well. Sure they'd hit a little slump with their string of draws, but despite him being a twit, it was a very harsh decision. He assembled all the pieces for a top 4 squad over the summer, would have been interesting to see what they would have done under him in the second half of the season, guess we'll never know.
  13. This. It really could go either way, and I hope, for the sake of the club and my sanity that we show the fight we had last season.
  14. That's a rubbish rule. Why'd they feel the need to switch from goal differential? Also, we should contest having Heits available! He's the one who will make the largest difference in our European squad.
  15. We really need to win this one. A loss here ends the momentum the lads have been building since the RS match, and a draw just drags keeps us down with the likes of Hull and Pompey. I've got a feeling this match will determine our season: good result a solid push for 7th or 8th, a loss a relegation battle.
  16. I'll honestly be quite happy if two things happen: 1) we take 3 points from the match 2) yakubu gets 0 minutes.
  17. please god let this be rubbish.
  18. i like the look of that. And to continue this season's theme...can you imagine the headache Moyes will have when Jags, Nev and Mikky are back?!?!?
  19. I've watched him play for Houston for a while. He's good and would probably be a great squad player for most EPl sides, but i don't see him being a starter.
  20. After tonight, he should be starting very regularly. He proved that his solid performances were not just luck or fluke. He is an amazing talent. Here's to DM for finding another one.
  21. Seamus for me. He was a rock in the back and our only creative, aggressive player going forward. He made BATE defense look like academy boys.
  22. Holden is not starter quality. Agree on Altidore. Hope Donovan proves he can cut it here.
  23. HE'S WALKING WHILE EVERYONE AROUND HIM IS RUNNING. FUCK HIM.
  24. as soon as Jo is healthy yak should be benched. he's rubbish.
