  1. Alot of people are talking about a replacement for Pienaar costing £15-20m. Call me crazy but we might just be able to find another gem like him for a couple of million?! It wouldnt be the first time we've done it.
  2. Anyone know of a good link?! Cheers.
  3. Ha ha up 'anley dook. Have you ever been to the Cultural Quarter in Hanley?! I've seen the sign posts but I think it just involves taking 4 right turns. Theres nothing cultural about a kebab house and a job centre.
  4. I hope we get three points out of this one, I'd say 90% of my mates are Stoke fans ( I live there) so bragging rights are a must! With it not being at the " Fookeen 'Tania" stadium I can't see "Pewleese" outwitting Moyesy on this occasion. Im going for a bold 3 - 0 victory ( me 'ode scrote ) Yak, Cahill , Saha.

I'm guessing Moyes will go for : ...........HOWARD............ HIBBO....JAGS....DISTIN....BAINES OSMAN....ARTETA...FELLI....PIENAAR .........CAHILL.................. ................SAHA............ I'd much rather see Coleman start at RB, and give Bily a run out in attacking midfield instead of Cahill, we need more possession football rather than the hoof ball we tried ( and failed) to use at Ewood. I'd also like to see Gueye have a run out on the left wing and move Peanuts over to the right. Whatever team runs out, we have got to win this.
  9. According to Wikipedia (and my arithmetic!) Carlton Cole is 26 and has scored 38 goals in 185 matches ( presumably starts?!) in his senior career. Yakubu is 27 and has scored 115 goals in 294 matches. Hmmmmm...younger,faster...BETTER?!?!? What an absolute penis.
  10. Thats kind of freaky. Lovely voice, but its coming from her in an exorcist sort of way!
  11. Yep, If you think they talk shit in the sports pages, you should think how much shit they talk in every other aspect of the news.
  12. *Wilshere - Arsenal - cracking potential, he spent a year training at Bolton and still looked good! *Rodwell - Everton - suprised no one else has mentioned him yet tbh. *Nani - Utd - He showed glimpses last year if he can sort out his final ball, and he looks like Thriller era Jacko, which means hes GOT to shine! *Adam Johnson - Citeh - only saw him a few times last season but i was well impressed.
  13. I've gone for third just by the way we finished last season, and we dont have any European distractions this year. Plus, If you can't be optimistic at these kind of things, whats the point?!
  14. No, your missing my point. Im not talking about financial rewards to Everton. If you were to put a player on the market, on paper at least Donovan may appear to be a more financially rewarding ( in terms of image, shirt sales, general promotion of the club in US) prospect than Arteta. Arteta is the heartbeat of our team, so im not saying donovan is more important for us. Im talking about Moyes being critical of his price, yet pricing all of our players out of the market. It just seems a little hypocritical, although im glad he does it!! Think back to the Lescott saga, Moyes wanted way above the players actual market value ( probably about £10million more) because he didnt NEED to sell Lescott. Now he's expecting the MLS to let Donovan go on the cheap, even though they dont NEED to sell him, and he is contractually bound for 4-5 more years. Id love donovan to come here, but i dont think he'd be half as important as most of the squad we already have.
  15. I understand the principle of what Moyes says about Donovans age, but in a footballing world where (some)fans and clubs want immediate success, there is going to be a high price to pay for a player in his prime years. Even if he's only in those prime years for 2-3 years thats enough time to progress a club in the short term to reap some financial rewards, and club reputation. Look at Man City or Chelsea, I dont think they are particularly concerned with the cost of players at a certain age ( Bellamy, £14m when he was 28-29?!), therefore a selling team can demand a higher price, knowing that these short term success clubs are in the market. By the same principle, Moyes surely wouldnt be able to ask anymore than the Donovan asking price for Arteta. If anything, Arteta has less immediate financial rewards than Donovan does. They are both around the same age, one is the captain of his national team, with huge "sellability", whilst the other is an uncapped player. This is not a dig at Arteta, who I consider to be a far more valuble player on the pitch, but maybe Moyes' words will come back and bite him on the Jacksy. It could be argued that Moyes can demand more for players he doesnt want, or need to sell ( Lescott, Jagielka ). But surely thats exactly what the MLS/LA Galaxy are doing. Neither party wants Donovan to leave, therefore they'll want more dollars. Any thoughts, or am I just talking shit!!?
  16. Hang on Bill, I was born in 1983 and I enjoyed all those same pleasures! In fact, my favourite hobby is ranting at the RIDICULOUS society we live in today. Maybe my generation was the last of its kind?! I certainly didnt have a mobile phone until I'd been pubescent for a good few years, and my childhood was spent with mucky knees and tired legs from spending the day trapsing around knocking on friends doors. All this having been said, there are a lot of people in my generation that did lead an agoraphobic technological childhood. Im just glad my parents kept me away from that. Good work!
  17. ~Goal highlights are up on youtube from SSN. good finishing!
  18. I still can't believe Porto got Moutinho for £9.1m?!?! Bet they wished they'd taken our money last year eh.
  19. It could also be that they want him to continue to get first team football week in week out whereever he's playing at the moment. It was a cracking goal, but the goalkeeping is a joke.
  20. I'd welcome a move to Goodsion, doesn't make me good enough to wear the shirt!
