  1. Bugger. They really do want us at least.
  2. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-68924392 If anyone wanted to know why a fucking island has a problem with immigration...
  3. That it's resolved one way or another mate. I'm terrified of 777 but another buyer is just as likely to be bad as good. We just need to lnow.
  4. Is it £3m now?! So my post in about the points being a double punishment should've said £6m fine.
  5. Luton 2-6 Everton Chermiti hat trick
  6. We're bankrupt if it goes on that long.
  7. Missed this, thanks Rob. One thing that I don't think has had much made of it is that it's not just a points deduction, it's a performance based fine too when you factor in the £ per place. We should be sitting minimum 13th (due to goal difference) and I think it's £2m a place, so it's a £4m fine (based on current standings) on top of the chaos.
  8. Cash can potentially be mitigated by adding a player in return. No idea who but it's a possibility.
  9. I'm thinking more about possession based teams, he could fit in at Barca or Real too, he really is that good in my eyes.
  10. True and I see what you're getting at. But ETH isn't guaranteed to be around much longer so do you move and hope the new guy plays you ahead of Maguire? £60m for him in this market and recent transfers is about £20m short before add ons. I hope we don't sell early for the sake of the books and we just take the hit, the PL will find a way of screwing us in any case so why take a 30% hit. He's got City written all over, potentially Arsenal if they win this season. He's going to be a world beater.
  11. Don't forget that success doesn't equal good enough, they're not always linked. The football is not good enough, but it's been effective for the most part. So next seasons success will be safe by January and better play, though that depends on the squad movements too
  12. Yes. Considering the previous 2 seasons and the absolute shitshow around the club it's a massive success. I'm not entirely joking that Dyche should be talked about for manager of the season all things considered, although there's a bit of tongue in cheek there. Newty said things perfectly.
  13. Think the mark of a good season is defined by the expectations and previous seasons. We should be comfortably mid table and potentially should've been chasing Europe if not for the points. Massively improved defensive, increased in shots and shots on target, nearly 1 in 3 clean sheets with 0 budget, a ragtag threadbare squad of aging or green players... Form this year: https://www.soccerstats.com/team.asp?league=england&stats=9-everton Fun fact, we've won 50% more games than last season. The previous season and others are available in the link. I've shared this one because it's colour coded and it highlights the substantial turnaround in results. I'd say it's a pretty damn good season. If the style next year continues to be more direct than a balance, then I'll get a bit critical. But all things considered, especially if you compare to 2 years ago, we've made massive progress.
  14. My bad, behind us to me means it's done which it isn't.
  15. Pretty sure one of our recent books was being looked at already ahead of next season.
  16. I know where you're coming from but when you prioritise something else, bits get rusty. Passing is something that is so intrinsically engrained into football that you'd like to confidently assume they'd be able to do without thinking. I don't buy the detrained claim, but should it have had more focus than it did? Maybe, but at what cost? I see it as we improved our defence massively and pretty passing was dropped. When basic passing was failing, we went long to avoid that banana skin. I still expect, as I assume the manager did too, that passing to a team mate is footy 101, but it did suffer.
  17. I was deliberately not quoting you to start with Rushed out I won't argue against, it did all seem a little too quick to find a solution as quick as we did and get it all out on time. Or the powers that be do actually have some ideas as what to do when a true pandemic hits. But I believe that had it not been sent out with even 75% effectiveness, that 1 in 4 people that could contract rather than a 95% , replicate and transmit (often without showing symptoms) is dramatically reduced. I offer an apology to those who didn't get it but took/take precautions. Most at the time weren't, treated it as an inconvenience and it was an emotional time, not just because of COVID for me. So my apologies there. But anyone telling me it's to link you with the 5g masts will not be suffered
  18. It reduced the chances of contraction for the most part, it limited the chances to spread, so it absolutely was for everyone. Like pretty much every vaccine. Didn't help everyone unfortunately but vaccines are not created, pushed out and injected for individual protection, it's always the majority in mind. Cash too, always that as well.
  19. Just shows how comfortable the west has got that we can choose to turn down medicines that benefit 95% of the population and have eradicated deadly diseases. Vaccines aren't about you, they're about protecting the majority, assuming you're healthy enough. I'm not surprised that opinion over science is gathering momentum. Apparently there are people under 25 who think Hitler has been misrepresented and that Putin is currently being misrepresented. Wonder how many Wakefield will be responsible for in the end, it's likely in the millions already.
  20. Hate to break it, but PSR is far from over.
  21. I think the praise is largely linked to the relative pressure he was under today. He could've hidden but he didn't. Masses to improve on but, all things considered, did extremely well.
