He definitely deserves more time, he did a very good job at Soton but no way should he get 3 years. Bobby got 3 years based on his first season and by getting us to 2 semi finals. Koeman doesn't look like doing the same after 18-24 months in charge then we should cut our losses. I don't think it will get to that though.

Weirdly I can't think of anyone that has improved under Koeman?

I thought after the first 20 minutes he was involved in everything positive we did. Switching the play, getting the ball to the person in space not just the person next to hi. Always on the half turn too which is what we need. He got his shots off as well which isn't the norm and he got himself a goal. He played wide right for about 10 mins and he contributed far more than Valencia did for the rest of the game just in those 10 minutes.

We difference now is that we don't invite pressure upon ourselves and over commit. We dont piss about with it at the back while both fullbacks have overlapped. Set pieces we seem just as bad as we concede at least 1 good chance a game. Don't forget we have always won plenty of points from losing positions, both under Moyes and Martinez. Under Martinez though we used to throw those points away again a minute later! Especially last season!

From what I have read Gueye was Walsh ' s signing and Williams was someone we have been after before but never been able to get over the line (Kenwright said we had been looking at him for a while) Not sure about the rest. Stek would have definitely been Koeman's.

It's the last sub that is the query, plus not having Gerry on the bench. My question is, if Koeman thought that playing 3 at the back was the best way to get a goal and win the game why did he stop the sub after they scored (Mori was ready to come on) and then why did he wait until after we had scored to make the sub? It doesn't make sense. I can see the logic and I said as much in the match day thread but why make that change at that point unless you had more of an eye on suring up at the back and making sure you didn't lose the game.

We can play old and slower players but if we do we have to do so much deeper and counter attack more (Leicesteresque). We can't be a high press, high energy team when 3 or 4 players take longer to run 50 metres than my nan. Koeman needs to decide what he wants to do, does he want to play his way, and if so put the players in that support that philosophy. If he wants to play the technically better players that are slower and less mobile then he needs to change the way he is asking them to play. For the love of God just decide one way or another and don't keep mixing the two.

Just watching the after show. The spaces in midfield are horrendous. How can you play 3 in midfield and not have someone between the midfield and defensive lines out of possession. Carra slating Williams and he has a point. I have noticed Williams taking the easy choice a few times now.

We should be bottom half though based on performances. This time last year we were lower than we should have been based on performances. This year we are higher than we should be based on performances. Sooner or later it will catch up with us.

Ross played well, only player who looked like doing anything. If Alli had played like that Sky would be pissing themselves over him.

Terrible but at least we got a point. Again I can't really point my finger at anyone and say you were shite. There was a good dozen occasions today where the players were looking at each other unsure about who was responsible or pointing and arguing with their team mates. Another set piece goal conceded too, taking way too long for the outfield players to organise the wall lots more small things that a well prepared team shouldn't be doing on the pitch. I said it before Koeman came that he seemed to have a habit of doing well against the better teams in the league and then struggling against the rubbish and it doesn't appear that this trait is going to end any time soon!

Davies terrible dive just put the ball in! He might have got it had he gone down when he was actually fouled and not just after he got into the box.

In fairness to Koeman I think he is trying to get the FB'S into it more as we just saw from that chance? If he thought that was the best way for a goal why didn't he do it when we were 2 1 down?

Should never have been a free kick but it's a good finish. Got his hand to it but enough power behind it. For me the keeper should be a little further off his line to give himself more of a chance.

I can't really say that anyone has played particularly badly, the balance is just well off, players all over the place.
