  1. He hasn't done nothing but at this stage, and in fairness this looks like it is going to change very shortly, there hasn't been a massive impact. I suspect there is a lot more going on behind the scenes mind you, such as these sponsorship deals that are due to be announced. The thing that makes me wary about the snippets we got from the AGM is that he was all Billy bog bollocks when speaking with Jim White, watch this space, we didn't want Sissoko because we have McCarthy etc. That was all grade A bullshit and I wouldn't expect a man like Mohsiri to do things like that. So when he speaks so well at the AGM, like he did yesterday, I will take it with a massive pinch of salt until I see it happen with my own eyes.
  2. Exactly that. He was controlling the ball in space, had time to look up and play the pass etc and was ballsing it up. He was really poor but at the same time he is better than that and it was a bad day. He was finding space though in fairness.
  3. To be fair that is more than I though he was worth! Even then that is based on his assets not on his bank balance, it will be loaned from somewhere or someone else.
  4. Apparently it was one of the big disagreements between Koeman and Les Reed at Soton which eventually led to him coming here.
  5. Here is one of the articles http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3391539/Ronald-Koeman-blasts-Southampton-academy-recent-21-fixture-leaves-unimpressed.html
  6. I have been disappointed more than enough by the club in the past so I prefer to adopt a wait and see policy. He may have written off the debts but we still owe him the money and I don't think he is worth enough to just click his fingers and wipe the debt like that so where has that money come from. In five to ten years time he could well turn out to be the Messiah and the club could be going from strength to strength but after just 12 months, where not a great deal has really changed (from the outside), I think it is reasonable enough to wait and see them walk the walk.
  7. I think Liam Walsh is highly thought of too.
  8. Every touch Kane has gives the ball away. Alli not really in the game but pops up with two crucial headers, lovely movement for the 2nd but it's terrible defending. Definite China in the armour between Azpilicueta and Moses. Struggling to keep a flat line and not picking up the right men. Chelsea are looking dangerous though, but 2 goals will be difficult against this Spurs side. Credit to Pochettino for matching their formation and targeting the right CB and WB.
  9. I'm talking about Utd. They won't give 2 hoots about 6 mil when he probably earns half a million a month. If they keep him another 6 months that's mostly his fee there and then let along bonuses etc.
  10. Really? he started pretty well! It's tough on him because he has none of his own players, some of their better players are long term injured and they were messing him around in giving him the job as well. It wouldn't surprise if there was a disagreement over transfers. Phelan has had little digs at the owners before and I suspect he probably have them a few choice words and they didn't like it.
  11. Shame for Bournemouth, had to turn off a 3-1 but they were doing really well. I think the tide started to turn when Fraser had to go off. He was a brilliant outlet getting them up the pitch and relieving pressure.
  12. I feel sorry for him. I don't think his team has been as bad as his points tally suggests and now that he finally gets to a transfer window and can potentially get some players in (along with a league cup semi again Utd) he gets sacked. There is no way he will be any worse than whoever else they get in.
  13. Also, Arsenal are getting beaten by Bournemouth (2-0 at half time) and they look all over the place. Howe is doing an excellent job there on such a small budget with what is for all intents and purposes a Championship side. On the other hand, unless Arsenal turn this around and really challenge for the title or win a cup then I can't see Wneger being there next season.
  14. Clement is an interesting one though. Lots of experience as a number 2 and wasn't doing too badly at Derby when he was sacked. He is quite a defensive/cautious coach, well he was at Derby, so that will be a positive for side who keep shipping goals. He is probably a better choice than Coleman anyway.
  15. He wasn't wasted under Rodgers, Balotelli just doesn't want to work at all. He wants everyone else to do the work and put it on a plate for him.
  16. I'm not buying into this haggle over 6mil. When you factor in wages etc it's buttons. I suspect the issue is more over how the fee is paid.
  17. I still have some small hope that Koeman can keep him in position but I think it will be way too late!
  18. City are definitely vulnerable at the moment. Their weakness is at the back so I would stay with 2 up top and do what we did yesterday.
  19. If Baines is the pen taker then Baines takes them regardless of the score. The only time that may change is if someone is on a hattrick and we are cruising. I never get why players do this when they know who the taker is. If you want your name in lights then go shag a Kardashian!
  20. It's a difficult balance because at the same time we can't really afford to keep players, no matter who they are. The one thing I always admired about Ferguson was that he knew when a players time was up and when it was best to move them on and get new blood in and therefore do what was best for the club. Only a couple ever lingered on but they were the ones that optimised the club (Scholes/Giggs/Neville) and you can certainly argue that Jags has that same stature for us without being a local lad like Osman or Hibbert. He certainly has it in him to play in the Premiership this season, but you can see that he is not the same player. He has done very well for us bit we have also done the same to him so whilst I would probably prefer him to decide to retire with us, I also wouldn't be too concerned if he was moved on.
