FYI Clubs see very little of the shirt sales money. Mainly just goes to the supplier / retailer.

The problem with Cleverly is that he doesn't really have a "best" position. He isn't good enough physically or defensively to be a DM / CM. He doesn't have the ability to play as an AM in congested areas and he isn't a natural wide player.

His only position is in the Pienaar type role, tucking in from a wide position to help play build whilst also tracking back to help out the FB. He would actually be a great signing for Sunderland with Van Aanholt bombing past him.

Pundits are always jumping on the bandwagon as well. When Lukaku scores he will be one of the best in the league and he should move on but when he goes through a lean spell he is over rated and needs to stay and develop.

He cost us a goal in preseason too if I remember...

That's my only concern with our team, we have a lot of 'confidence' players, who need it to truly shine. They're not on a level consistency, it's either a 4/10 or a 10/10. Sometimes a team needs a solid 7/8 out of 10 every game.

my struggle with him is whats his best position he is not a number 10 imho but at the same time not in the same mold as Barry and Gueye either, so where he fits under Ron I don't know. Del Boy was excellent when he came on him winning a 50:50 for our second was interesting and would never have happened under Roberto

If you watch it again you will see that Geri bottled it big time but luckily so did the Sunderland player!

I wouldn't get carried away with Barkley. It was a bad game, instead of keeping things simple he was trying too much, started badly and then kept trying to make amends. It was one of those days and hopefully there won't be many more.
