I didnt think Lukaku had a bad game yesterday but he was definitely frustrating. Bony did well and I like the sharp movements he makes off the CB's to get the ball in space (much like Kone ) and I was also impressed that he played a couple of nice through balls which I wasnt sure he had in him.

Yeh there was one where you could see Barry think about it but in the end it didnt and Swansea slid the ball in the channel between him and Stones where another Swansea player was in space. I dont think it helps that we are sitting deeper either than usual atm either. Almost inviting them on to us.

Watched a couple of their chances back and I was interested to see that Swansea actually managed to get 3 vs 2's against our CB's. When I watched the game live I couldnt believe there was so much space between the pair of them but in fairness to them, they each picked up their man and they ended up with another running into the space. I do think Stones got a little dragged out of position at times and he probably should have been passing the player on to Coleman, but Coleman probably would have been picking someone up and without Mirallas getting back he would have been 2 v 1. If anything fault lies with one of Barry/McCarthy who werent picking up the runners in the first place.

That West Ham/Man Utd game was and hour and a half of my life that I wont get back. Its embarrassing that West Hams only tactic was to float a ball into Carroll.

Everyone keeps saying "given how we are playing" but we step it up a notch whenever we play the so called better sides and we have been very unlucky to lose against Chelsea, Spurs and Arsenal. As much as I would like to think that the race for 4th is still alive, I think it is very unlikely. The Arsenal game itself will be the key fixture and that will tell us whether its even remotely likely but 5th in itself would be a very achievement this year.

Not for the first time today we stepped off the pedal after we had scored. Instead of continuing to do what brought us the goal, we gave them the time and space to play. I thought that both Lukaku, Mirallas and to some extent Barkley all thought the game was won and went through spells of not putting in the effort and just needlessly giving the ball away, When we came out in the second half we were right back on it and we deservedly went ahead and its good job we got the goal from the corner quickly afterwards because we would have missed a good opportunity.

So what did everyone think of him today? At times I thought that we had actually found Pienaar's long term replacement but then he would go and do something stupid or ridiculously sloppy that had be tearing my hair out. Definite promise from him though and in the grand scheme of things he hasnt been with the group that long so hopefully he will become more consistent over the 90 minutes.

Baines for me. Lots of players had highs and lows but along with Coleman I thought he was very solid and consistent and if we had a few more players who could have kept their performance levels up over the 90mins we would have won that game at a canter.

Really dont know what to make of that game. Proper Jeckyl and Hyde performance.

FFS... Distin misses it and Lukaku doesnt even try.

Massive gaps between Distin and Stones all game. Not on the same wavelength.

Osman should do better there, really nice position.

Id bring on Naismith for Lukaku and leave it at that tbh. Maybe Gerry for Mirallas as well?

He has been a real mixed bag for me. Sometimes I thought he did some really impressive things but at other times I have thought he was a fecking idyet!

Bony's movement is first class as well btw. He is pulling off our CB's with ease at times.

This is where Barkley needs to drop deeper and get stuck into the midfield.

Stones showing his naivity there. Needs to be better than that.

We are starting to drop off again. The big players need to stand up and make sure we keep driving forward.

Good goal in the end, thought we had cocked it up but we were patient and Mirallas played a nice ball into the box. Credit to Distin for an excellent tackle at the other end that started it all off.
