I would agree with that one, maybe with Alcaraz coming in instead of Distin or Robles ahead of Howard. Robles is normally pretty assured with his distribution (Spurs game aside) so I was surprised to see a couple of dodgy attempted passes where he was probably trying to be a bit cute.

Yeh when Junior came on against Accrington I think he had 3 touches and 2 of them he passed the ball straight to the opposition! Not bad for being on the pitch for a couple of minutes! lol

No doubt they took the opportunity well but it was still an opportunity they shouldnt have had. Jags had time to get a pass out but instead tried to trick his way through. Oviedo got caught a little ball watching (albeit a good run from the AS player) and then Hibbert let the goal scorer go by (where Jags was caught out of position).

That's how I read it. I think he has got the players he thinks he needed to boost the squad and now its about making sure he gets the right player or players to really make a difference.

I have only seen a little bit of him but he certainly hasn't looked out of place and you wouldnt be able to tell that he has only just come into the team.

Good work out that and an impressive performance overall. Gibson & Felli worked very well, especially the former whose energy was fantastic. Oviedo was bright in attack but he lost a bit of concentration for their goal. Robles was impressive enough in his keeping duties but a couple of sloppy passes could have been punished. Vellios, Gueye and Grant all showed some signs of quality but they need a bit more consistency to go with it (mainly aimed at the first two). Alcaraz showed exactly why Martinez has brought him in. Handled himself well in defence but his performance on the ball and playing the ball in to midfield put the other two to shame. Jags who was poor in the first half stepped up in the 2nd which was good to see. Im looking forward to the Blackburn game now.

One of Gibson's best performances so far. I know its only pre-season but he has shown another dimension and almost mobility in his play today.

So far Gueye has either been very good or piss poor. Clearly a player in there somewhere.

Poor from Fell but thought he put in a good challenge and won the ball trying to make up for it.

Thought he had a nothing half. Couple of nice positions but poor touch and poor passes let him down. Bit like Hibbert.

Felli starting much deeper this half (just as he trots forward!).

Like Steve_E said during the Vienna game, Gueye is much bulkier than I have seen him before.

Solid half which was let down at the end. Pro's - Oviedo, Mirallas, Gibson & Felli. Neg's - Jags, Hibbert & Naismith. Looking forward to seeing who comes off the bench.

Jesus Christ... What the hell was that? Jags pissing around with it to start with. Oviedo lets his man in and then both Jags and Hibbert caught sleeping. So far I have been deeply unimpressed with Jags.

Lovely ball from Felli and good work from Mirallas. Although when the ball came back to him Naismith was free on the edge of the box and he didnt see him.

Poor defending from Jags and not sure where Robles was going there either. Luckily he missed.

That right there is what I hate. Distin picks it up, he has players all around him and he under hits a 50 yard pass by 10 yards.
