Im hoping we start with the 4-2-3-1 style formation we started the first half of the Blackburn game. Howard Coleman-Jags-Stones-Baines Fellaini-Gibson Mirallas-Barkley-Deulofeu Kone. Ideally we would need to look at giving Gibson a break in one of these friendlies but I dont think we have the option at the moment. It doesnt surprise me that we are being linked to this sort of player a lot at the moment because we certainly need someone as a back up. Howard & Stones should keep their places considering they played so well against Juve, Deulofeu should be given a run out against his parent clubs arch rivals and whilst I dont think Mirallas should play the full 90 mins I think its important he is on the pitch.

I think he is a good solid young CB to be honest and I'm surprised Spurs have let him go considering how many games he played last season.

Half that price and I would take a chance on him. If they arent willing to go to that price then loan him for a season with a £5-7mil clause at the end and lets see what he can do. I have seen him play very well at times, but far too inconsistently. Having said that he has barely stayed in the side for longer than a couple of games so it can be hard to maintain a level of form.

I don't think he has tbh. I didn't see the Austria game so cant comment on that one but Maggie was better than Naismith in the AS game, albeit not by much. Both had good moments and both were really poor at times and if anything I think Gueye is better at linking up the play. Yeh no doubt he is putting the effort in but I just don't see it from him. I would rather have a half decent youngster come off the bench in the hope that he will improve for the experience rather than Naismith who is only half decent and is unlikely to improve at all.

I just dont see what he adds. In the half we saw from Gueye he showed more than Naismith IMO.

He showed some form at the start of the 2nd half but still faded as it went on. He certainly hasnt been a standout!

The best thing for me is seeing how confident they all look, especially the younger ones. Barkley looked like he was ready to take on the world and if he cocked up he got straight back up and went again.

We got a bit sloppy at the end as the work rate dropped significantly but overall it was a good performance and we again can take away a lot of positives. Hopefully we can build on that against Juventus.

No but you would still expect that when Blackburn are attacking, he would drop back in. But in their last main 'attack' he just stayed in midfield and Gibson was deeper. Dont know if that was maybe a one off though.
