  1. I agree that he did nothing of note for about 80 mins but he was integral to the 2nd goal and he was heavily involved in a couple of other nice moves too.
  2. That was actually a very good ball from Zaha but God knows how Lambert missed that... actually just seen it bobbles.
  3. Naismith with a lovely turn. Feck knows how Welbeck has got MOTM.
  4. I think I could get a call up if I played for Utd.
  5. He looked like he could only get a toe on it for me and not one he could clear properly. Jags hasnt been good but harsh to blame him for that IMO.
  6. If he created half a yard I would agree but Cahill gave him about 5 yards! Lol Poor defending from Scotland now and its evened up. Welbeck can at least head the ball.
  7. Awful defending from Cahill though. Made Kenny Millar look like Didier Drogba!
  8. He just strikes me as a player who just doesnt finish the moves off, a bit like Aaron Ramsey but better.
  9. Cleverly has been pretty much anonymous but then he pops up orchestrating two really good moves. Not entirely sure what to make of him. Gerrard and Jags seem to be playing a game of who can give the ball away the most and Jags especially has looked really out of sorts.
  10. To be fair to Hart it dips wickedly right at the end of its flight. Probably moves about a foot and thats why he didnt get his hand behind it. Average start to the game though so far. Baines has been in acres of space so many times but they just dont want to play it to him. Wilshere looks very sharp and he will be a big player for Arsenal this season if he can stay fit. Welbeck on the other hand looks useless. No idea why Hodgson persists with him playing wide.
  11. Are you serious? Martinez hasnt even managed his first competitive game for the club and your slating his youth policy! We do need a new central midfielder but we still have two weeks of the transfer window left to run.
  12. Dont forget that he has been on Ramadan! Only problem is that he might be a little bit behind the other lads in terms of his fitness.
  13. Personally I think he is a very effective player, perfect for a Sam Allardyce team. With service from Downing, Jarvis, Cole and Vaz Te he could score a good amount of goals this year and importantly create a lot of opportunities for others, especially Nolan. Top half banker for me.
  14. I dont know, both Jags & Distin had shocking parts during last season. It was only at the end of the season that they found their feet (although generally I would agree with your post). Other players seem to get dropped for making a small mistake yet others seem to be able to play poorly week in week out and start every game. Not just the guys at the back but also Saha & Cahill when they were here and Pienaar & Osman last season.
  15. Im not going to get a name on my shirt but if I did I would go for Baines, Barkley or Coleman. Baines is my favourite established Everton player, Barkley is the player that excites me most and Coleman 2nd in both lists.
  16. Somewhere in the 10th-6th bracket depending on what we see from the rest of the league. The way to beat us will be to press us high up the pitch (as it always has been) and teams like Soton will probably cause us a few problems. For me the most important thing about this season is that we finish strongly playing like Roberto's team. We need to get the groundwork in and hope that we can see a big improvement as the season comes to and end, to set us up for next year.
  17. I completely agree with the point in bold, however what I will add is that the strongest side is a combination of talent and form. You can have all the talent in the world but if your out of form you will struggle in the best leagues. For me, Moyes didnt pay enough attention to form, whether that be during a match and making substitutions or choosing his starting 11.

    Real Betis

Just caught the last 15mins. It was evident even in that time that Betis were playing the ball at a much quicker tempo than us. At one point they took a quick free kick deep in their half and within 2 passes and probably 5 seconds they were attacking our back 4. We have always been awful when teams close us down and with many of the same players we are always going to struggle against teams who play that way. I was hoping we would step up with Martinez at the helm and to be fair to him he has still only had a few weeks to get his philosophy into the players. Get Felli back, a CB who is comfortable on the ball and midfielder that can turn defence into attack quickly.
  19. I just really dont like the idea of bringing people in just for back up. I dont disagree with your logic but if we can get Garbutt involved in around 10-15 games throughout the year I think it would be ok for him.
  20. Its exactly what he needs too. Its a shame and a slight surprise that he wasn't allowed to go on loan again at the end of last season as well.
  21. Thats not really much to compare him with though I would rather we just saved the money and used Garbutt in rotation with Oviedo. Not saying he should be playing every other game but get him involved in cup matches and get him on at the end of games we are comfortable in.
  22. Not a fan of his tbh. He was better at Wigan than he was at Birmingham but he is way below the level required IMO.
