  1. Stopped smoking 6 months ago but even when smoking kept myself in shape. Have to work harder at it now because smoking really does suppress appetite and I have become a biscuit fiend, instead of coffee and cigarette its coffee and 10 jammy dodgers - damn I love them dodgers.

Hate Gyms though and prefer to work myself in my garage on weights and some other interesting items. A 3mm sheet of steel is excellent as it has weight but is thin and helps with grip and grasp. I have recently got into gyro scopes - the purpose is 2 fold, muscular tone and they are supposed to help with golf swings as well, not sure how but the salesman told me (frankly my game is still pish)

Cardio wise, cycling and I run rather than walk the dogs although if my spaniel trips me again its going have to stop

  2. The only people who will use St James' Park new name will be the media - because we have too. Just like KingPin and DW.

A tweet from Stuart Rowson, Sports Director at the biased broadcasting corporation

Don't know how it will work as fans won't say reet who is going doon the sport direct arena, it will still be the toon, st james or whatever else they affectionately call it. If some muppet corporation wants to shell out money then its up to them.

When our stadiums were mooted I think it was mentioned at the time that Tesco might take up naming rights or have I just made that up?

  3. I have a blackberry, its a phone. It rings I answer it. It pretty much does everything I want it to in a phone

Because after all its just a phone. I dont know why phone technology doesnt impress me, perhaps its because im just bowled over with the concept of phones in general

  4. I was thinking about who could conceivably replace Moyes. I dont think Lambert or Rodgers would want the job, they must be happy with how things are going at their respective clubs. Coyle is talented and might be interested. Dave Jones always does a good job and likes to attack and is well versed in bargain hunting. Ian Holloway is a manager I cant help but admire, has done well at Blackpool with limited resources although I thought he was somewhat naive tactically at times last season.

Paul Tisdale has done a great job at Exeter. Lee Clark of Huddersfield Town has his side playing attacking football and difficult to break down.

  5. If we want to look to the longterm I would suggest alternatives to a finite resource such as oil. Much better ways to provide our energy needs for the future at a fraction of the cost, without death and destruction and being reliant upon the middle east.

    It just doesnt add up.

What we have spent on wars in Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya is astronomical. For 10% of this spend we could have run an experiment to place a gorlov helical turbine in the Gulf Stream. For me this is the most credible way of us meeting our energy needs now and in the future

  6. I don't but they whole oil argument it just makes no sense.

1 GBU-12 Pathway laser guided bomb cost $20,000 to the US military. 1 barrel of oil is 39 gallons, even at pump prices here that is £200. So 1 bomb is equivalent to 100 barrels of oil (at UK pump prices)

Now the Americans have dropped significantly more bombs than 1, you also have to factor in the boots on the ground, the support network they require, the warships, the helicopters, submarines and a whole host of people back in the US.

Now surely it would be cheaper to just by the fucking stuff?

  7. http://www.sportinglife.com/football/news/story_get.cgi?STORY_NAME=soccer/11/11/07/SOCCER_England_Rodwell.html&BID=165

Everton midfielder Jack Rodwell's first call-up to the senior England squad is reward for his fantastic form this season, according to team-mate Phil Jagielka.

The 20-year-old has been selected by Fabio Capello to be in the party for the forthcoming friendlies against Spain and Sweden.

Rodwell has represented his country through a number of age groups and has been a regular for the under-21s for some time.

Jagielka, whom Rodwell will join along with Toffees left-back Leighton Baines in the national set-up, said the midfielder has made a noticeable improvement this season with a number of consistent performances that have earned him promotion to the senior squad.

He felt that was in part due to the transfer deadline day sale of Mikel Arteta to Arsenal in August, which provided an opening for the youngster to earn a regular place.

"We have said with Mikel leaving and us being short of numbers in the middle it was time for Jack to step up and he has been fantastic since he has done so," Jagielka told evertontv.

"He was unfortunate with the red card against Liverpool but other than that he has been up there with our players of the season so far."
