  1. Due Diligence would only occur in a friendly takeover not a hostile one. Of course Everton appear to be seeking a friendly one.

But even so, one does not air their dirty laundry PRIOR to a sale. They attract suitors first, then negotiate.

It's far better to know who is 'remotely' interested then focus efforts on selling yourself to them than to reveal all your problems upfront and attract nobody at all.

Due dilligence is a part of any business purchase however it is acquired.

Given we are not registered on the LSE we couldnt be subject of a hostile takeover

  2. I am not saying he should avoid twitter because he is black. I am saying as a footballer/ celeb by going on twitter and giving ppl direct access to him he is opening himself up to abuse NOT specifically racist abuse but abuse. Thanks for the condescending lesson on racism but you completely missed the point.

Racism is obviously a very delicate subject but where does the whole line between what is oppression of minorities stop and freedom of speech begin. For example if you abuse someone for having ginger hair it is not seen as abuse but the colour is their skin is. You can banter someone for being fat or having bad personal hygiene but not for being gay. Being racist or homophobic is an opinion (not a nice one but an opinion) therefore trying to legislate peoples opinions is very difficult and I am not sure where it ends.

My comment was in no way directed at you and I was not trying to give a lesson of any sort.

  3. Racism isn't a two way street, it just doesn't work like that.

Abbott seems to believe that because many years ago Great Britain conquered the world and arrived on foreign shores where black men sold other black men to us as slaves we must be constantly flogged for the rest of time. I havent got a slave, my parents didnt and neither did theirs ad infinitum so why is it my fucking fault? Does a slave rest easier in their shallow grave because an underqualified black woman can get a job as a professional gobshyte because she is an underqualified black woman?

    Breathe, rant over

  4. Yes he is

League One players are getting touted around for that price these days and he is a proven quality player

He left us for 3 million and has done nothing to enhance his reputation at Spurs. Ok his contract was running down with us which affected the price we got for him but a player with injury problems over the last 12 months and approaching 30 is not worth 5 million in my opinion.

  5. Is he worth £5million though? He has barely played since joining Spurs and we (or any other club for that matter) dont know whether he can attain the heights that sparked all the interest in the first place.

I appreciate his contract was ticking down and we cashed in but since leaving what has he done to justify a £5million price tag? He doesnt even make the bench for Spurs

  6. He's struggled at spurs because he has had injuries, and he is also fighting Gareth Bale and Nico Krankjar for a place in the team, not much chance there, but he would walk into our team without a fight.

I'd have him for the £3m that they paid for him.

Dont disagree, injuries and competition have played their part but to fork out £2million to service Pienaars failed dream is a bit strong for me

  7. He's 19 mate and just signed for Sampdoria. He has 20 years ahead of him. Let's see if he can do well at Sampdoria, and good luck to him. Not sure what the issue is to be honest.

There isnt an issue its a discussion. Its only an issue when someone asks, "whats the issue" during a discussion

If you are desperate to find the issue then perhaps its yours and my differing opinion.

  8. It's a logical conclusion that he didn't play because he wasn't deemed good enough by Moyes.

He was given a 'chance' when he was signed. He had the 'chance' to prove himself and climb the ranks. If he fails to impress, is that 'his' fault, or Evertons? Everton signed him 'free' so we've not exactly lost out. The guy has had 2 1/2 years training with a top English club, so has benefited greatly. He is still only 19 after all, so has a big career ahead of him.

Failed to impress but has a big career ahead of him?

  9. I would be torn over this. He has been a fantastic servant to the club and his commitment isnt in question, however his ability now is. He looks a shadow of himself and Im not sure its just a lack of form more terminal decline.

He hasnt had a rest in years and travelling half the world to represent your country will catch up eventually

  10. Nope. Think I noticed it perfectly. That's the whole point. The lad isn't good enough, but was given the opportunity to develop in our camp

How do you know that, he never had a chance?

There is no point buying young players and getting our fingers burnt time and again and no point letting him go without giving him a crack
