Just had a nose at rangers forums - earlier last year they were saying he was far too good for them - the overriding comments are - skill, strength and workrate. Some on there saying he would be a £20m plus player if he showed such form in the EPL... unfortunately until we have £15-20m to spend on an 8/10 proven premiership player then this is what we need to do.
I liken this to an allocation on arrival holiday... you hope what you are going to get is costing everyone else at least twice what you have paid for, then again, you could end up in the middle of nowehere in a shed... let's hope jelavic turns out to be an all inclusive paradise.
Good analogy Haf, I like it.
Delighted with this piece of business

Rumours everywhere Saha is off to Spurs on loan. I will personally help him pack and drive him down.
Why would you let Pav go (apparently did have a training ground bust up yesterday) and replace with a past his best Saha? Would gladly do a loan swap until the end of the season
-
Leonardo says he is not going anywhere

This is a good signing for us. He is a good player and will be suited by our style of play, well his work rate will be required by our style of play
-
You are shittin me, we sold him over a decade ago didnt we? 2001 was it?
He has had 3 clubs since as well.
-
Isnt he out of contract in the summer though?
Apparently he is, good knowledge sir

I guess they will want to cash in then and £4million now seems a little high in light of recent developments
-
so it's a dream move for him then, wait till he gets here and Moyes puts him at CB, it won't be a dream move then lol
-
Wigan had a £2million bid accepted. Seems he isnt keen on the move
-
Never going to happen at £4million surely in todays market he is worth at least twice that? I do rate him and would be delighted to see him join
-
According to the Daily Record he has demanded he be allowed to speak to us.
-
Todays Sun reports that Moyes is hopeful of signing him on loan until the end of the season.
-
He is coming to us. Or at least that is what all the talk is around Bristol City. He has apparently rejected offers from a host of Championship clubs and will sit his contract out and leave for free in the summer.
I reckon a £1million bid from us in the window would get him but I would be happy to wait and get him for free in the summer, then the next year we can sell him to Leicester at a profit
-
The Mirror says we are lining up a £1million bid for him. It is the mirror though
-
He is going on loan to Newcastle apparently. They just missed out on signing him in the summer and have got him on loan until the end of the season

Yakubu has already proved his worth for Blackburn. He is one of the main differences between them being 16th and trailing several points adrift at the foot of the league. If this 1 year myth was even remotely true, they could already sell him this summer for 5 or 6 times what they paid for him.
I didnt question his current worth to Blackburn, as it stands they got a bargain and arguably one of the deals of the summer. Next season will be the true test for Yak, its a pattern that has developed across his career and as such isnt really a myth

Yet according to a number of observers close to Everton, David Moyes has no desire to sell Cahill, conscious of the physical burden he has asked the player to take on. Essentially, the Australian star has played through constant pain and immobility, masked by painkillers, because of the club's struggles.
But none of that takes into account how the player himself is said to be feeling, frustrated at factors beyond his control, desperate to kick-start his form, and weary from carrying the burden as Everton's go-to man for so long.
I cut this from the article, this is what we have asked Tim to do and he has done it and still given 100% everytime. The article also ask whether he would pass a stringent medical - maybe not.
I would be gutted to see him leave and would only want it if its what he wants, not to satisfy the bank
-
Well in all seriousness I hold Moyes fully accountable for Billy, between Yak and Bily moyes has netted a tidy £18m loss. Sadly as is the case with Yak, you wonder if it was the way Moyes utilised them...
Yaks great start at Blackburn will fade and next season their fans will be bemoaning a fat lazy Yak. Keep for a season the resell player. Bily is an enigma, looks to have it all but cant produce it consistently. Too lightweight for the prem, cant play out wide and would get overrun in the middle.
£5mill yes £2.5mill no, keep him and make him bulk up a bit
-
According to todays Mirror Stoke want £12million for him
-
Not for me
Overrated

Bakayoko doesnt even make the bench? He was awful. Kroldrup would replace Matterazzi
-
I like Mancini, I think he is a good boss but there he is bemoaning the injury problems Man City currently have.

They arent alone in suffering it happens in football we have plenty of players struggling for fitness at present. I expect he will buy his way out of trouble if necessary.
He will end up like Wenger and SAF whinging about everything
-
Done, best of luck with your dissertation
-
I would have him here. A decent premiership player and regular football will help him.
Sadly though never going to happen given our finances

its like we lost a turd and picked up a pound
Not often of late we have had a transfer window to smile about and it seems odd to smile about losing a player but the get the fuck in. If his absent wages can be spent on getting Drenthe signed up it would be a good day all round
