  1.

Manchester United had a plan to replace arguably the greatest manager in history and followed through with it. I don't expect things to go as smoothly for us, but there should be some sort of direction. Right now it does not appear that there is any direction to what we are doing. Our board should have been planning for Moyes' departure - regardless of whether it was going to happen or not - in late March-to-April. Not a week after the end of the season. How could they prepare for this? Moyes was at the end of his contract, was rumored to go to a handful of teams including Man U, and refused to commit his future to Everton in the press. If his departure caught them by surprise then shame on them.

How do you know there isn't a direction? We have apparently interviewed people for the role which suggests things are moving along. If we get to July and there is nobody in the role we would be well within our rights to have the hump about it. As far as I can see there isn't a wealth of talent sitting idly around so any new manager is most likely managing somewhere which is an added complication not just time wise but financially - the plus side though is we probably arent getting Hughes or O'Neill given they are unattached and could have been appointed in days

  2. Lets say Martinez is the target - BK couldn't have spoken to him until Sunday night or Monday morning earliest so basically 3-4 days ago.

How can you have a plan in place for what has happened? Managers stocks rise and fall dependent upon results - what if BK had Paolo DI canio in mind to replace DM and Sunderland took him. With so many potential variables any plan is likely to be subject to change

I just say give him sometime and when he appoints someone we can either celebrate of commiserate

  3. I am usually the first to be critical of BK but I don't understand why people are bashing him over a lack of appointment thus far. This isn't a new tea boy or lawn mower for the pitch it is the man to lead us next season (and hopefully many more). I would much rather he takes time to be objective over their plus and minus points than rush into making an appointment to keep the "fans" happy.

He may have had to wait until the end of the season to speak to some of his targets so has had less than a week to pull all this together so maybe we should just give him a chance to sort it out

  4. A highly talented youngster doesnt automatically become a world beater. Given our financial restraints our policy has been to buy young. Some work out some don't and it will always be the way. Whether they fail to realise their potential or just didnt have all the requirements who knows but I dont blame Moyes for it

  5. That's what I was trying to get across wink.png

I don't know 100% who is in charge of transfers and negotiations but I doubt very highly that we can only negotiate with one person at a time. It's much more likely and practical to have a team of people working to get as many players into our club as possible.
