Manchester United had a plan to replace arguably the greatest manager in history and followed through with it. I don't expect things to go as smoothly for us, but there should be some sort of direction. Right now it does not appear that there is any direction to what we are doing. Our board should have been planning for Moyes' departure - regardless of whether it was going to happen or not - in late March-to-April. Not a week after the end of the season. How could they prepare for this? Moyes was at the end of his contract, was rumored to go to a handful of teams including Man U, and refused to commit his future to Everton in the press. If his departure caught them by surprise then shame on them.
How do you know there isn't a direction? We have apparently interviewed people for the role which suggests things are moving along. If we get to July and there is nobody in the role we would be well within our rights to have the hump about it. As far as I can see there isn't a wealth of talent sitting idly around so any new manager is most likely managing somewhere which is an added complication not just time wise but financially - the plus side though is we probably arent getting Hughes or O'Neill given they are unattached and could have been appointed in days
-
Lets say Martinez is the target - BK couldn't have spoken to him until Sunday night or Monday morning earliest so basically 3-4 days ago.
How can you have a plan in place for what has happened? Managers stocks rise and fall dependent upon results - what if BK had Paolo DI canio in mind to replace DM and Sunderland took him. With so many potential variables any plan is likely to be subject to change
I just say give him sometime and when he appoints someone we can either celebrate of commiserate

I am usually the first to be critical of BK but I don't understand why people are bashing him over a lack of appointment thus far. This isn't a new tea boy or lawn mower for the pitch it is the man to lead us next season (and hopefully many more). I would much rather he takes time to be objective over their plus and minus points than rush into making an appointment to keep the "fans" happy.
He may have had to wait until the end of the season to speak to some of his targets so has had less than a week to pull all this together so maybe we should just give him a chance to sort it out

He did well yesterday and I hope he carries on. Took his goals well and looked comfortable in their system.
He has not long left as a player though and still glad he moved on

They have no dignity as a club. They stood behind Suarez and he shit all over them yesterday and they come back for more. Kenny acting like a knob with his usual I didnt see it.
Even if Suarez feels genuinely aggrieved by what happened its in the past, leave it there. The Red half of Liverpool has no shame and certainly no class

Pienaar for me. Good to see him back. Felli awesome and Strac good too - nice to see him get a goal to go with another hard working performance

Thats the problem with keepers though. In theory and injuries asides you only need one. It does no good to chop and change your keeper and they dont ever really need resting.
Bringing a player in for a cup game to "give him a game" adds unwanted pressure to the player

A highly talented youngster doesnt automatically become a world beater. Given our financial restraints our policy has been to buy young. Some work out some don't and it will always be the way. Whether they fail to realise their potential or just didnt have all the requirements who knows but I dont blame Moyes for it

Claims he came very close to signing for us but Bayern priced him out of it

He seemed genuinely made up in his interview. best of luck to him

Yeah I saw that too. it is very tenuous as its a friend of my wifes mates but she was told he had set his heart on joining us and would sit out his contract to make it happen
-
Or maybe he has just had a phone call off Harry after he got out of court....
Haha wanker

Rangers have had a bid rejected by Norwich for Grant Holt - looking for a replacement

Twitter and the Mirror are saying its on.
I can see why he would want a move with the Euros around the corner
-
That's what I was trying to get across
I don't know 100% who is in charge of transfers and negotiations but I doubt very highly that we can only negotiate with one person at a time. It's much more likely and practical to have a team of people working to get as many players into our club as possible.

Mancini picked him to play tonight? Thats the only circumstances he will be coming near us today I reckon
Martinez confirmed as new manager

There is plenty of time. I don't know when pre-season training starts but any appointment won't have any players to work with for a couple of a weeks anyway. I suppose he could come and learn how the photocopier works and where the tea is made but asides from that not a great deal
