  1. I would rather kick an angry hippopotamus in the testicles and suffer the consequences than have Mark Hughes as our manager. He's not fit to manage traffic.
  2. Not unrealistic. Fellaini, Heitinga and maybe baines leaving. would generate maybe 25-30 mil. plus the new tv money.
  3. I wouldn't put it past the board to give it to Round. Why recruit from outside when you can just promote the deputy for peanuts?
  4. Why would it? Our reserves play better football than the 2002 team ever did. I would expect a slight dip next season if major changes are made, but no worse than mid table. With 30-40 million to spend and some excellent youth players coming through a good manager should have no trouble building from where we are now. Edit - please, please let it be a GOOD manager.
  5. With the extra tv revenue and felli probably doing the off, I guess the timing is right for all involved. Hopefully It will give whoever it may be a fair wedge to kick on with and regenerate the team. Davey will be remembered as a true legend who rescued us from the dark days. Lets hope the next manager can take the next step and put us back where we belong.
  6. If somebody could photoshop a pic of suarez in the little window i'd be happy with it tbh.
  7. What would be the point of just one player? We need half a new squad! Distin, peinaar, osman, howard all past their prime and need replacing sooner rather than later. If i had to choose it would be a new keeper though as a long term investment. Probably Vorm.
  8. I think Gibson could be the ideal captain. Strong, vocal, consistent. All the other choices are at the end of their careers or too inconsistent. Otherwise it would be Heitinga.
  9. Nobody wants to go down granted, but we can't change anything without sorting out the ground. To do this we need to clear the debt. I see no other choice than to take a risk. or do we just continue on as we are until the buildings inspector condemns goodison?
  10. First off: Replace 90% of the backroom staff. The physios, the coaches, the finance and marketing teams. Next: Execute MOST of the board of directors. (Y'know....the really really rich ones who never ever put their hand in their pockets) Then: Excluding the following - the true blues .....bainsy/ossie/hibbo and the future coaches...howard/distin. SELL EVERYBODY in the first team. Promote - Stones, Barkley, McAleny, Duffy and Kennedy. Use whatever finance we have after payin g off the debt into rebuilding goodison (whatever the board says, it is far from impossible) IF we go down, we go down......I'd rather have hope for the future, that continually dream about our past.
  11. Don't think its too much to worry about. Heitinga only plays shite with jags. always plays well next to distin.
  12. Shouldn't be pressuring jela in the first place, should be pressuring ossie, peanuts, baines and mirallas to put the ball in the box to HIS FEET where he can do what he does. No service no goals.....and another promising striker walks from goodison a broken man.
  13. Yeah he's done well, i can't deny that. But lets be fair, you could get any old lump to do the same job. He's wasted there....plus its the only position where we really get to see ossie at his best.
  14. I stand corrected. Which makes moyes choices even more confusing.
  15. Sadly felli has said many times he doesn't see himself as a DM. Such a pity, because he is a briliant one, but an average attacking mid. With the proffits from his sale we could fix every area we are weak in. For 25m we could have new RB (clyne)/DM (ofoe)/GK (butland) and a few youngsters for the future.
  16. Sometimes i think some of our fans watch a completely diffrent everton each week. World class means a player who could perform in any team in the world right now. Baines is that player. there is literally nobody as good as him in his position in the entire world right now. Opta stats have proved it, and we get to witness it. Felli, is a great player BUT doesn't like playing where he is most effective. When we play him deep, we are unplayable because he is almost impossible to run past. our attacking plays know this and play without fear, giving us the beautiful interplay between nuts/leighton/ossie and now mirallas too. Play felli in the hole and we might as well cash in, buy a good RB (sorry, i just don't think seamus will ever cut it) and by f**king emile heskey, who will do the same job.
  17. I wish we would drop felli back to play with gibson. we always look so much stronger that way and ossie can be used effectively further up the pitch.
  18. Felli playing too far forward. Ossie playing too deep. Peanuts playing too central, Naismith playing in England. And the defence won't pass to neville because he loses possesion so we end up with this horredous long ball stuff. He can't score if nobody gives him the ball in the right place.
  19. Seamus today. Just looks so much more comfortable at RB and you can see the spark of partnership between him and mirallas starting to form now.
  20. Felli, but only just. Apart from neville and coleman who have no place in the first team, everyone performed superbly. So many moves today started from jonnys ability to pass out of defence rather than hoof it upfield too.
  21. Nev n Cahill used less, although we still don't have another RB so probably not in nevilles case. Howard Neville Jagielka Heitinga Baines Fellaini Gibson Naismith Osman Peinaar Jelavic
  22. As much as i'd like to blame everything on the manager, the fault lies more with the current team than with the tactics. Cahill, Distin, Neville, Coleman and even Howard are why we lost yesterday. Too old, too slow, too talentless to be playing along side Heitinga, Baines, Osman, Fellaini and Jela. All of which, barring ossie will leave eventually because they see no change and then what?
  23. I've been saying this for ages, especially as they would most likely take bily in some kind of exchange. scores goals for fun.
  24. I am buying the striker we've needed for the last 20yrs, and a left winger that is actually good, to replace Billy. Good keepers need time to settle and Tim ain't getting any younger. Any cash left over i would consider Henry lansbury or that bannan lad from villa.
