  1. I suppose sometimes that's all you need. If he can contribute to 15 or 20 goals a season I wouldn't be too concerned how good he is in other areas. If he doesn't it could be a problem. Whenever I think of him I recall that goal he scored where he flicked it over his head and volleyed it into the net from outside the box. That was a beautiful goal.
  2. Yeah it's not often you watch a player on YouTube and you don't get excited either... He looked clumsy, slow and weak throughout. Also quite erratic in his challenges sometimes.
  3. Initially I thought more of a 433, but with Alli playing as a number 10 for the vast majority of his career, and the strengths he has in this position, I just can't see us playing anything other than a 4231. If he gets firing, our forward line on paper is starting to look very good if those players hit some form. Gray, Richarlison, Alli and DCL could mean we have no trouble scoring goals. Let's see.
  4. Had a quick gander on YouTube before at him at United and Ajax. It felt reminiscent of a few years ago when I was looking at Davey Klassen. Let's see how he gets on for the duration of the loan, but I'm not getting excited.
  5. People opposed to us taking a small risk on Dele must be mad. Our midfield minus Allan and Doucoure is literally trash. Davies, Gbamin, Gomes... Alli walks straight in ahead of these three and would do with one leg missing.
  6. I'm sure we can intentionally avoid winning anything for a couple of years to swerve those heavy Dele costs!
  7. Yeah if the £10m is after 20 games, the rest of the £30m could be heavily performance based which isn't an issue.
  8. Don't worry come March all your hopes and dreams will have been crushed mate.
  9. I thought you meant he's just another Cenk Tosun then
  10. At only 25, he could resurrect his career to what it was when he broke into the scene. If people are forgetting how good he was here is what he managed in his seasons at Spurs in the league alone: 15/16 (28 starts, 5 subs) - 10 G / 9 A 16/17 (35, 2) - 18 / 7 17/18 (34, 2) - 9 / 10 18/19 (22, 3) - 5 / 3 19/20 (21, 4) - 8 / 4 20/21 (7, 8 ) - 0 / 1 21/22 (8, 2) - 1 / 0 If, and it is a big if, Lampard can get a tune out of him, he will be the midfielder we have been crying out for for years.
  11. Wants us to be confident in possession, control games in the opposition half with plenty crosses and shots, and aggressive without the ball. It sounds exciting, let's see how well it will work.
  12. Brighton want to sign him this window apparently, according to The Bobble. I'd be happy with Branthwaite taking his spot in the pecking order, plus freeing up some funds for other players.
  13. So far were on the brink of signing VDB on loan, and have been linked to Deli Ali, Jesse Lingard, Idrissa Gueye, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek. A couple of central midfielders is obviously the priority for Lampard. I wonder if he will be wanting us to set up in a 433 more than a 4231.
  14. It's sad because I know he really wants to manage us full time one day, but he seems to hate being anywhere other than at FF and Goodison Park. As much as I don't want to see him move on I think he needs to do it for himself and Everton in the long run, if he was ever successful that is.
  15. I read today they had a falling out and he won't be his assistant this time round.
  16. I wonder how many of those are realistic. I think a lot of managers would want the Everton job... But many good ones wouldn't want to go anywhere near it!
  17. No not really what who do you realistically suggest we appoint?
  18. I don't think people see him as the Messiah, rather just the best of a bad bunch.
  19. Rooney was favourite in the past poll with 9 votes, Dunc & Potter were joint 2nd with 7. Lampard had only 2 votes. Peirrera wasn't included.
  20. Aye the bobble is always spot on
  21. Not too bothered about Lampard. Probably one of the better choices for us and at least it's not Bobby or Piererra. Aside from Rooney, who else was a realistic option for us?
  22. Just to touch on that it's difficult to see how we fit Doucoure and Allan into a 343, as well as Keane. Gomes is the type of player I'd like to see in this style, but he's not up to scratch. I don't think Mina would be too unsuited to being an outside CB, as well as possibly Godfrey and I want to say Holgate, but I doubt it. Also our wing backs are both untested, and Coleman is passed it now. Two positions I'd imagine which are quite important in this set up. The 2 inside forwards do suit us though with a fully fit squad, Gray and Richarlison being a good fit there. Overall I don't think our squad is suitable to that sort of set up to be honest. It doesn't seem like a sensible appointment.
