Yes Rom doesn't to make things happen. Himself as well as receive better service. Top players need to change game mechanics. What we do know is that if he receives the ball at his feet or on front of him...he can put it away. As mentioned above...gerry running to the line and dragging back is what we should be doing. Maybe if we can get Rom knocking in a few goals we can then work on the rest of his game. He cost a lot of money and is ours now. Let's turn him into what we know he can be.

If Kone could stay fit and play to last weekends level or even close to, then we wouldn't need another striker. It all depends on hos fitness and whether it is worth the risk or not.

Finn I have that in the back of my mind too, which is why I am quiet on the whole thing. I am hoping that the reason we are not buying is because there is a chance of moving forward with a new ground or even a takeover. But just hope. Nothing in it.

Sorry I have to agree with MC here. Wolfsburg just couldn't finish. We just had a few matches where everything went in and everything they hit went wide. Another day it could have been a very different result.

Difference is when he finds the corn he eats it up. Lukaku found it a few times yesterday and turned his beak away from it. I have watched many great goalscorers and the best ones made things happen. Were QPR that good last season that all his goals were laid on a plate for him? If so, why did they get relegated? I understand the lack of service for Lukaku, but I also expect more. Some strikers need two or three chances to score a goal...and he got them yesterday. The header he missed was one an average striker should put away...but it's also easy to miss them. The miss control in the box was the type that you be having the piss taken out of you in the pub for an entire season if you played for a Sunday pub team. I can tell you with a lot of confidence that I would have eaten up that header and that I would also have buried the other one. Lukaku needs someone breathing down his neck who can come on and put a chance away. Did you see Kone's reaction to scoring? I thought he was going to cry. He looked so relived and happy. Roms problem is that when he scores he looks around as if to say "see". Having Austin be able to come on and get the crowd going might just make him realise that his price means nothing to Everton fans and that performances mean everything.

To be fair he had a free header that looked like it slapped him in the face. Then the ball was crossed over to him about ten yards out and again it bounced up and have him a nosebleed.
