  1. I probably shouldn't point this out as all hell will be unleashed on me but you said a couple of hours ago that 'teams will be queuing up for him', now you say 'he's not that highly rated outside of everton'. You maybe mean something else by that? To be honest, I don't think we'd get that much for him. £8 mill max. He's a great player to have with his work ethic and more his in your face attitude. I love that about him. But as you say, it's not worth a lot of money on its own. He is real useful to have though. No point in getting rid. Not yet.
  2. Haha...no way. I remember something about that!!! I withdraw that I think he'd pick something up!
  3. Aaaaah....that's a point towards the reality of the game I suppose!
  4. You'd expect, at the very least, for that o'keefe fella at the Echo to have picked up on something. Anyway, as you say, it's 4 weeks down the line. The teams looking to perform better so it's not vitally important.

That's the same starting 11 gone then! There was bound to be a few changes. RM just has to get the juggling right.
  6. You'd expect so wouldn't you? Media, informers etc are constantly sniffing around clubs.
  7. Ai, we're all different though. See, girls were always my Achilles heal!!! Newz bar sounds interesting!!!
  8. Koemans done a great Job so far. Many would have shit it with the amount of players being sold in the summer. It was laughable...even koeman had a laugh with that empty training ground tweet!!!
  9. Wasn't stones one of the ones also tied down in the summer? I guess the point is - keep these guys tied down and other clubs can only pay big whack to get them.
  10. And that's as simple as it gets I guess! He has to earn his stripes again. And that's what competition for places is all about? At least we are in a position to be able to do it rather than keep playing him.
  11. I know there's a redshite thread but this lot cracks me up. How bad have the, majority, of their dealings been over the last decade or so? All this excitement when Balotelli signed (a 4 club reject!)...only they could get excited by selling a 70m player and replacing with him!!! Gold!!
  12. Oh god Yeh! Imagine that. Might have to do a kanchelskis and get rid!!!
  13. While no one knows anything factual, there is nothing wrong with discussing other possibilities that make just as much sense. At the moment, no one is right. Because no one knows.
  14. Catch 22...as the players contract runs down, his transfer value goes down. If anything is to happen, contract wise, it will most likely start after january. The more traditional era for contract negotiations to start.
  15. Yeah man, exactly. This is where I think the age thing comes in. His body is a temple. Most 21 year old would love to be built like him. Never mind 36 year old ' s. A sublime athlete. But see, I suspect he's still training like he's 21 but at 36, at the highest level of sport, something has to give. Over trained maybe? No one knows to be honest.

Yeah, definitely. Be a great night. Loads of Toffee's. Atmosphere will be fantastic. Enjoy!!!
  17. That would make sense. Especially if he can keep going the way he has under RM.
  18. It's been hinted at yeah. Sources from Belgium I think. Christ, if he's anything like me at his age...splitting up with a bird will knock him for 6. He'll be alright though. Barkley will take him out on town where he'll get plenty of birds flying his way!
  19. Im not sure that he gives himself a new contract though Rom! Not overly concerned really. As much as we appreciate how Naismith has stepped up, he's not of the same quality as those who got new contracts. Plus it's not really the time of year that many contracts get looked at???
  20. No, that's ok. You disagree. Nothing wrong with that. That's what debates on forums are all about. As far as I'm concerned the Distin thing is an open book. Martinez has stated he trains so hard. There comes a point that the body will slow down recovery. If you keep pushing it too hard, it will break down. The Pro's that carry on to a good age, Giggs for example, learn to adjust there schedule to both maintain fitness and allow recovery. It's perfectly feasible explanation. Just as feasible as something going off. Honestly Blueboy, it's not worth it. As I have said, people can see his posts. And its good that he links back to another topic because yet again you can see who the provoker is. People can see who's doing their utmost to cause disruption, and sadly that now includes sending PM's to me last night. All failing. But hey ho, it's a small individual on an otherwise good forum.
  21. How many times have you been to this place?!!
  22. Another good link...Thanks. Is age catching up with Distin? He's what, 36? Is his body, although he's in great condition, starting to slow down in recovering from top level training? Is it showing the 'scars' of so many years of top level football?
  23. Good for a good sucking then...no nibbling or biting.
