  1. There's enough in that team to win.
  2. They can all fuck off! Besides, Serie A? That's such a washed up league now. In the 90's it was THE league to watch in Europe. The style of football was boring but they attracted many top players. It's now lagging well behind La Liga, Premiership and Bundesliga. No way would it be a positive move. Only if you were unemployed.
  3. Grow up? What's the point? Age is just a number...only your joints tell you otherwise...so as long as you don't try back flips and somersaults, it's cool!
  4. For me it's like this...If Barry starts at CB with both Alcaraz and Stones injured...then something ain't right. And I'll hold my hands up to that. But if Distin starts...then he's being played like a 36 year old for a team with extra fixtures this season. The bloke has to wind down at some point, and sometimes it's more of a 'bang' than a smooth rundown.
  5. I see a little 1-0 win. We haven't been great this season, well, not consistently anyway. It's coming though. The back line is solidifying. Top of the Europa group. In touch with the main teams around us in the PL. And to be fair, only Chelsea and Southampton have been pretty nifty most weeks in the PL. Everyone else had been as wobbly as us overall.
  6. There's the problem with 'new world' economics...its good to have debt. Advantageous to have debt. It's kind of corruption in disguise...you come and lend a load of cash off us, pay us a load of interest to support our fat bonuses, high salaries and exclusive holidays and we'll give you a good credit rating! Anyway, a whole new subject that one...
  7. Most companies run with a degree of debt...its another tax dodge...the interest paid on the debt is tax deductible. Real business is a dirty filthy world. It's not a universal good idea to have debt. You still need to have cash flow to service that debt. The level of debt has to be controlled. You have to show that you can cover that debt, otherwise you are in the shit. For example, if you are the director of a Limited Company and continue to trade with debt you can't service, you'll get banned as a director. And a case to prove MC11 is right with his trail of thinking is Leeds United. Remember them going he'll for leather for Champions League football? Peter Risedale (Chairman) lent a tonne of money flow the promise of CL footy year after year...but they failed to qualify and it went tits up because they couldn't pay the loans. Players got sold.. and we know where they ended up. And Steve...its not that the TV money is being dismissed. It's that Bill and Bob where putting themselves in the limelight and media hype as if they had pulled off some masterstroke to make our turnover grow to record levels. But they haven't. And as you say, the plan seems so shallow. That's why there is criticism towards them. As I have said, I'm no expert here (although I do like looking at numbers and business info!) so excuse me if I have gone beyond myself!!!
  8. Yeah, I get that. But I find it hard to believe that teams (other than the usual 'top'5) are getting similar deals to us, in some cases more. The other part of disbelief comes from the original deal supposedly exposing us to Eastern markets, yet we can't take advantage of it due to the kitbag deal. If that makes sense??? Anyway, I'll be the first to admit that I am probably starting to go over my own head here!!!
  9. Ai, I get ya. I guess the only way it will get better is if we find ourselves in a position (for example, CL qualification year on year) to turn around to Kitbag and tell them to do one. To sign a 10 year flat deal seems so short sighted and lacking ambition. It smells desperate. As for sticking with Chang...I don't get it at all.
  10. I think if Gerry was with us still this season we would have seen a much better version. Last season he looked ace at times, at others not so much. He was as erratic as you would expect these creative wingers to be at a young age. If Bobby thinks we need another winger, he'll get one. But he clearly put all his pocket money into Lukaku. Getting a good quality winger would have cost more than he had left to play with. I think we are yet to see the best of McGeady. Pienaar is maybe too slow to be an out and out winger now. And Atsu...well, he needs to show more.

I didn't think we were that bad yesterday? Seemed to move with a good tempo and 'go for it'. We kept plenty of possession, created chances (but fluffed them...there's one need for improvement). The down side, I thought, was that we ran out of ideas as the game went one and couldn't take advantage of them losing Shelvey.
  12. No one will buy a player who has been crocked for 12-18 months. Why would you?!
  13. Problem Mark is that Mr Elstone tied us into a deal with Kitbag until 2019. Kitbag pay us £3 mill a year. Kitbag then have sole rights to sell our kits, merchandise etc. And they look after our shop and online sire. We receive no other money for this. We can't decide where our stuff is sold as it is all Kitbags. So, for example, if Under Armour decide they want to pay us £10mill per year to make our kits...its no good as kitbag get that money. Tell me a leading sports retailer in the USA where you can buy a uk footy shirt? If we wanted to negotiate with that retailer to sell Everton tops, we can't as it all belongs to Kitbag. It's a ball breaking deal. Teams around us are getting bigger and bigger shirt deals year on year while we are left with £3 mill a year until 2019!!! Even the shirt sponsorship with Chang undervalues us. This deal is supposed to raise our profile in the East. That's great. But we can't control the merchandise available or negotiate with any retailers as Kitbag have the sole, international rights to our stuff. I'm sorry, but the extra TV money is a great smokescreen for some serious failings that are going to cost the club a lot of money.
  14. Yeah exactly. You have to see past the TV money. I'd be interested to know why, with higher gate receipts, did catering income drop by £250,000. Also, what 'other commercial activities' are, and why this dropped by £1million??? It's not unreasonable to ask. Or to expect better. This article is old, but sums up how I feel. Note the gulf in commercial income of the teams just ahead of us...the gap is huge. I expect similar articles to appear in the days or weeks to come... http://www.espnfc.com/club/everton/368/blog/post/1846154/commercial-performance-still-casts-a-shadow-over-everton
  15. Looking forward to seeing next year's accounts...should be good...extra revenue from UEFA Cup (more so if we continue in it....gate receipts, merchandise, TV Mine, Prize Money). Should see a further increase in turnover. Although we need more commercial activity. The only other thing is the extra TV money. Every club has it. And everyone knows it. So expect prices to increase for players quite sharply.
  16. Barry at CB? Then play Besic and McCarthy in front? Shame he is injured...again! Looks tidy when passing the ball. Another that we just see glimpses of.
  17. First 5 games of the season, conceded 13 goals and 1 clean sheet. Last 5 games conceded 4 goals and 2 clean sheets. Let's see how we go from now on. Can a Martinez team defend? Can we start finding the back of the net? Only a few points off the coveted top 4. We're getting there.

The set pieces were poor. Far too often our corners are wasted. At the moment we'd be better off playing it short and working it in.
  19. He's definitely better behind the front man where he can drift around a lot more. He looked good at times, more so when he didn't have to be the lone front man. Wrong end of his career to be the line front man.
  20. Going out on a limb here as I always vote without looking at anyone else's...Besic. Although he didn't play a full game, I though he was immense. Loads of energy, nice touches and glimpses of simple skill. Good passing. Him and McCarthy should play together more. They'd be unreal together. Mention to McCarthy for his energy. Also mention to the yo - yo McGeady...He looked good today. Barkley also looked pretty nifty for most of the game.
  21. So from your perspective as a business man, what do you make of the income less TV money and Gate Receipts? Genuine question.

2 points dropped there. We just seemed to run out of ideas. We couldn't break down a well organised Swansea defence. Feels a bit sore that.
