dark
Made this thread so that we could all recommend each other stuff. Whether it be a new album, video game or film this thread's the place to talk about it. The idea came when I put on my Last.FM radio, something that I hadnt done for a while and found that 99% of the stuff that I was listening to was bloody awesome. Some of the bands that I remember where Breaking Benjamin, Anberlin, Yellowcard, Halifax, Kill Hannah & Hoobastank. Those few stood out as bands that were really awesome. I've had Anberlin on most of this week and loved it and it was thier radio that I was tuned into. Made me think that some of you may be feeling the same - anyone else got some recommendations? What stuff are you liking?

MikeO
I like the Blues , so don't suppose many people will entertain my recommendations lol We all like the blues....that's why we're here isn't it ? Oh...wait a minute...I get it . One of the finest musical nights of my life was watching Muddy Waters supporting (and playing with) Eric Clapton in 1978...George Harrison joined in also. I'd recommend people invent a time machine and nip back for a look . Incidentally Taxi....ever seen or heard of this guy http://www.larrymiller.co.uk/

Guest efctaxi
Dark , You said you liked SRV . I played a lot of his stuff in my 20's , but have to say this is one of my fondest memories of him : Sean Costello was one of the great hopes of the Blues untill unfortunately taking his own life last year Some none Blues , by the great Dave Mathrews and Warren Haynes :
zequist
If you like the blues, be sure to track down copies of West Side Soul and Black Magic, both by Magic Sam. Those were his only two studio albums before he died of a heart attack at age 32; if he had lived longer he'd be remembered right up there with the all-time greats. dark
Just got into another artist. Skye Sweetnam. Definatly worth a listen, rock sound. Here's her Last.FM Skye Alexandra Sweetnam (born May 5, 1988) is a Canadian singer-songwriter. Skye came onto the music scene in 2003 with the release of her début single “Billy S.” Over a year later, her début album, Noise from the Basement, was released including the singles “PlayTangled Up in Me” and “PlayNumber One”. Sweetnam is also known for singing the theme songs to Radio Free Roscoe, The Buzz on Maggie and Wayside. In 2006, she was nominated for a Juno Award for New Artist of the Year. Her second album was released on October 30, 2007 entitled Sound Soldier. http://www.last.fm/music/Skye+Sweetnam Edited February 3, 2009 by dark

dark
Tell you what I'm just scrobbling Robbie Williams on Last.FM, his new work isn't much good but it's clear he's a musical legend. Since his time at Take That he has done some great tracks. Come Undone I'm listening to at the moment and loving it, think that I'll dig the CD's out and get them on the pie-pod. It's his birthday too, so happy birthday, a cookie for anyone who knows how old he is.

dark
TV Heaven Telly Hell is back on tonight. I watched this show when it used to be on regular, now I can't find it in the listings. It's hosted by Sean Lock (8 Out Of 10 Cats) and goes through the ups and downs of the television. The guest tonight is Alan Carr (Friday/Sunday Night Project) who can be funny sometimes - not a huge fan of his stand-up but on chat-shows he can be quite a laugh. Channel 4 20th February 2009 23:35 Guest: Alan Carr
