Lowensda
http://www.newsnow.co.uk/A/361789069?-11192 Looks likely to head to Dutch League, but i think would be a good addition to our squad with his speed?
exiled-in-kent
Was meant to be the next HUGE thing 3/4 years ago. Sort of fell off the radar a bit didn't he? Granted though, I think he would be a useful addition.
Reallm
He was the next huge thing back then, but that was only what the media wanted him to be. He's still only 20 yrs right now. He is now starting to come into the form that we had all expected out of him. It's just taken longer than what the media had wanted.
chicagoblue
Dutch league makes sense, he still needs to work on his skills on the ball and needs to learn to beat people one on one.
ustoffee22
Hed be a good fit he has potential and is a decent player right now would be a reserve player or bench if were lucky this year but could turn into a great invetment in a couple years
chris1eng
Didn't he have a trail with Reading a couple of years ago?

jcrawfor
he's 20...and YES!!! He could be great...just needs time and a manager who knows how to nurture potential (funny I think we have one of those)

Reallm
Everyone knows Adu said he was younger to get more attention, he is closer to 30 then 20.. That's strange, because I am VERY close to someone who played on squad with him back when he was 14/15 yrs old. No way he was 20 then. Lowensda
Everyone knows Adu said he was younger to get more attention, he is closer to 30 then 20.. Just like Yakubu being 63 and kanu 107.
jcrawfor
Adu said he was younger than he was? when? Oh right, must have been when they pulled him off his U15 squad in DC. 30? He must be closer to 35.
EFC-Paul
I have never been a fan to be honest he was a media created golden boy who's career considering the hype has flopped big time, If he was very very cheap i would say give him a chance but other then that i dont think he would cut it very well over here. duncanmckenzieismagic
If he isnt good enough for the USA squad he isnt good enough for us
Adpom
He had alot of pressure on him as a kid, being named as the next wonder kid. Maybe if he gone to Utd of Chel, he'd be that wonderkid, instead he went to Benfica. going to the Dutch league is a big step backwards for him, the Dutch league is alot weaker then it was 10 years ago. The Championship is a better league now.
Anto-EFC
If he isnt good enough for the USA squad he isnt good enough for us Agreed! I would take his Compatriot though Charlie Davies, he looks ok.

I thought he choose Benfica over the English prem.

jcrawfor
If he isnt good enough for the USA squad he isnt good enough for us It's not that he's not good enough. He's probably our brightest spot in the midfield. He hasn't played much for Benfica so Bradley (being the idiot he is) won't ever give him a chance. Even during the Gold Cup Bradley only gave him one start. Adu should have played every game in the Gold Cup and come on at least once during the Confed. The reason he's not playing for the US is on Bradley's end...not because he hasn't got the skill.
Louis
I think the Adu age rumours come about because his parents lost his documents when he was moving to USA so there was no definitive proof of his date of birth.
ustoffee22
I wouldn't say he's our brightest spot in the midfield but he is a descent squad player and has the potential to become something more if given the time on the pitch
thehelmet
To comment on Charlie Davies, I think only a couple of months since he left Allsvenskan and I doubt he's improved that much. He's got fantastic pace but little strength or "eye for goal" and weak ball skills.. I wouldn't take him for more than 1-1,5 mil. Adu looked outstanding when 14-15 for the u18 squad but since have failed to really improve in my opinion, granted you don't see him much these days.
