Umm... im confused! this is supposed to be disappointing right?

You mean Kirkby being refused?

No it's not....not as far as the majority of internet forum active Evertonians are concerned :) .

Think there are very few who are actually disappointed but quite a lot who are worried about what happens now.

What irritates me is that the club have sold an idea to the fans that in order to compete financially we will have to move? and some actually believe that.

A £70m odd outlay for a potential return of £6m more a year, which was initially offset against a £10m injection of cash from the housing development of Bellefield - which was canned, for us to move the benefits need to be far greater

The only option I can see is to redevelop Goodison one stand at a time and suffer the consequences of the reduced revenue until its completed

if they knocked down the park end and rebuilt that first, the capacity would be 32,000. if it was built quite big, we would not have to go below this figure at anytime. as soon as it is open the cost of season tickets in the park end would cost more and the corps could go in there at a higher cost too.

Yeh Iv read that somewhere too. Apparently the Park end (as it is) only cost around 3-4mil of which a large chunk was paid for by a Government grant. IMO its things like this that should have been embarked on ages ago or at worse after the collapse of KD.

Is this cos they plan to make the stadium on the outskirts? or the prospected stadium anit good enough?

I mean wasnt this supposed to bring investments?

Ps. sorry these might sound like stupid question but i've only supported the club since last December, and im not from liverpool.

It's not a question of being on the "outskirts," Kirkby is outside the city boundary and for some the geography of it was important (the naming of the opposition group being KEIOC suggests it was initially that issue alone) but it was also the perceived poor quality of the stadium and the club's refusal (or inability because of an exclusivity agreement) to look at other options.

That's a very simplified version, there was much more to it that you can look up if you want to but really it was a combination of factors.
