In typical Everton striker injury syndrome style Beckford is injured for todays game! Starting line up is: Turner Hibbert Distin Jagielka Baines Arteta © Rodwell Bilyaletdinov Osman Vaughan Anichebe On the bench is:Cahill, Coleman, Baxter, Gueye, Silva, Saha, Mustafi, Jutkiewicz. Hopefully get to see a good bit of time from the new boys at some point, Jutkiewicz can't be completely given up on or Vaughan to be out there! All very attacking subs. Don't think the pitch helps, it looks a bit bobbly to play a concise passing game, which is a shame. Bily looks pretty good imo, he's getting past players and looking quite strong. All very slow as expected and their not really getting anything through to the strikers. Arteta, Rodwell and Osman playing well. Bily been very poor, losing the ball a lot and seems to have his head down a lot. Pitch isn't great but games slow enough that he should be able to get himself better involved. 40,000 at the game, impressive attendance to play to for our first friendly of the season! Pitch isn't great but games slow enough that he should be able to get himself better involved. When the commentators mentioned it I thought they were being harsh. He picked up the ball by the touch line after a poor-ish clearance from Distin. With two players on him , he went the only way he could, backwards and the ball ran out of play.
