marcopaulo
kevin davies? first call up at 33? is this really the best football he has played ever? fuck me capello you get better all the time
Romey 1878
Can't believe Baines isn't in there, he's been in cracking form.
troy8
Can't believe Baines isn't in there, he's been in cracking form. Remember it's Capello who coaches the side, so of course he won't be there Also agree with you Marco, can't believe that about Davies. scouse
Baines looks to have shot himeself in the foot with whatever happened prior to the world cup. As for Davis agree it is a shocking call up, but then I started thinking who would I have in his place and I couldnt think of anyone... Suggestions??? marcopaulo
id have carroll..similar player but at least he's young! don't rate him much myself but i'd rather have a young lad in rather than an uncapped dinosaur or maybe agbonlahor..someone the right side of 25..davies deserved a call up at some point in his career but why now towards the back end? MikeO
Agbonlahor's injured I think .
marcopaulo
so he is...still andy carroll i'd say just cos of the age thing or how about that albrighton? isn't he a forward or is he a winger? walcott can play upfront too..no major pace upfront there..even out of the U21s i just dont see the point in davies at all as much as i like him..33 years old it's just another thing against what capello has said about bringin in young talent! Romey 1878
Tbh, apart from Rooney, the strikers Capello had to choose from were pretty shocking. The English talent upfront isn't what it was if we're talking about Andy Carroll being someone who should have been called up tbh. He's an OK player but he's not quality. marcopaulo
it's not a great choice i know and like i said i dont rate him i just don't see the point in calling up a player who most likely won't make the euros

Matt
crap... OS saying he may not be fit for the derby either. Johnny might get his opportunity as CB, on his preferred right hand side too.

Matt
FFS... Why cant Distin get injured!? my exact thoughts. but, maybe its a good thing. Johnny gets to prove his point to Moyes, get some good games under his belt (depending on how long this injury puts Jags out for) and when Jags is back, BOOM! we have Johnny and Jags in the centre of defence! and i will win the euromillions tonight.... scratch that.... not even close... Lol... But that would need Moyes to make a difficult decision and voluntarily drop one of his favourites! We both know that wont happen. If Heitinga set the world alight at CB and Distin kept dropping clangers left right and centre and I would bet my hairy arse that if anyone was to be dropped (or moved to DM) it would be Johnny. I actually wonder whether he tries them as a pair in training?
