MikeO
Our opening game against United has been moved to the Monday night for Sky. Fuck off making me wait longer to see us play . That is shit . First day of the season everyone should play.

pete0
Find it weird that they can make it a late game when they usually force it to be an early kick off.
Romey 1878
Find it weird that they can make it a late game when they usually force it to be an early kick off. And that was because of all the trouble the last time it was a night game and their fans had to have a police escort so that they wouldn't get their heads smashed in. AGENTSMITH
I have a question regarding the fixtures & I am hoping someone can help me. I was always led to believe that the fixtures were created by a computer & therefore random. However.... How come for as long as I can remember the merseyside derby has always been Everton V Liverpool 1st then the reverse later on in the season??? surely at some point (even by the law of averages) the fixtures should produce Liverpool V Everton 1st? Louis
It's not random.. it's requested by both clubs. Everton prefer to play at home first, Liverpool prefer to play home second. It's to do with how the away tickets are sold, Everton accept the current season's stubs, Liverpool don't and only accept the previous season stubs (or something similar). I'm surprised that Man Utd is the first home game because it could be considered a rivalry. There's an article here on how the fixture computer works - http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/paulfletcher/2009/06/secrets_of_the_fixture_compute.html
Dalziel Kane
I'm pressed for time and saw the link,I'll do a printout and read it later. I always believe fixtures were never random, chose by individuals who just saw fit what they wanted. Some foul play was evident for sure, was never in favor of it but what can you do. Same goes for any Cup draws and International tourneys to an extent, all arranged to someones favor, never just a random outcome.
