Steve_E
Hopefully we get to see a bit of Gerard in the second half.
marcopaulo
kone should have done a bit better i think...maybe a fitter kone would've had more time? doin well though. barkley and oviedo look terrific
Steve_E
Unlucky Kone! Quite happy with that, very confident performance. Couldn't ask for much more. Our midfield of Gibson, Fellaini and Barkley is impressing me. Gibson in particular has been playing well, as in the other preseason games. Fellaini not really been involved much so far imo. Bailey
Very solid first half. Fellaini has perhaps been the biggest disappointment because he hasnt really influenced the game and if anything he has been a bit sloppy. Barkley, Mirallas, Piennar and eventually Kone have all linked up really well.
Sideliner
the youngsters doing well is fantastic ! just what they and Everton need now !

Steve_E
Think he had time to pick his spot, but fluffed it. He had two defenders on his back, didn't he?
Cornish Steve
Surprised to see sprinklers going at halftime. Where's the usual rain?
marcopaulo
He had two defenders on his back, didn't he? at his side not right on him....not sure he had much more time that's why i said perhaps a fitter kone would have...still think he should have hit the target though...on the plus side i'm not sure jelavic would have had the pace to get to it so that's a good sign
Bailey
He had two defenders on his back, didn't he? Yeh he had to hit it on that touch otherwise the defenders would have put in a challenge. Thought he did pretty well considering he was at top speed, unbalanced and only missed by 1/2 an inch. Steve_E

Bailey
Actually Heitinga isnt sweeping, he is stepping up into midfield.
Bailey
Nice patient play and Naismith swings his left peg and it goes just over.
Cornish Steve
Yes, Heitinga appears to be playing in midfield. It's all one-way traffic right now.
Steve_E
I think that was Naismith's best pass for Everton.
SimonButtle
Well it's early days, but so far Jelavic's touch has looked as shite as it was last season. EDIT: I take that back now as he has just scored Edited July 27, 2013 by Simon
Fearthainn
It's obviously quite early to tell whether these tactical formations and these new ideas will be successful or not, but I love the fact that they're being tried! It's like I'm watching years of my Everton football manager experiments in real life haha.
