Summer Transfer Window 2015

Recommended Posts

If you had told Chelsea fans that before the end of transfer deadline day their club had bought two new players they would struggle to contain broad smiles on their faces. However, the names Papy Djilobodji and Michael Hector have caused more than a few quizzical looks instead. Both in their mid-twenties and both signed for less than some of the Chelsea youth products at centre-back are probably worth; namely full internationals Andreas Christensen, Tomas Kalas and Keneth Omeruo. More and more the realisation is setting in that Chelsea's squad policy consists of high profile signings, buy-to-loans and academy afterthoughts. The loan count? 33!

They immediately loaned Hector back to Reading, so what was the point in that?!

yeah i follow nantes some becuase they have a US international and the defender is solid, but that's Ligue 1. They really messed this window up good, i could see a big splash in january to rectify it.

Puts certain clubs spend into context when you see the outgoings.

that's net spend mate, that counts sales as well. if you just look at spending there are only 4 clubs (bournemouth, norwich, arsenal, swansea) that spent less than us. that's us at 16th in the premier league spending.

Alan Fisher, Tottenham On My Mind: "Spurs' failure to sign another striker or an experienced midfielder signals a deplorable lack of ambition that could stifle the development of a young squad full of potential and leaves us vulnerable to competitors.

"The right men in these two positions could make a significant difference but chairman Daniel Levy, the so-called shrewd negotiator, catastrophically misjudged a market flush with TV cash. Teams no longer have to cave in because they just don't need the money. Another window, yet another missed opportunity.

"Today's desperate Berahino or bust shambles obscures concerns that Spurs' overhaul of scouting and recruitment failed to find alternatives. The club site's pathetic attempt to solve the problem by reclassifying Heung-Min Son as a striker did not play well with frustrated and furious fans."

they're in a strange predicament as well mike. they sold a ton of players but didn't bring much in, i can see poettchetino going in the summer is they don't get CL. they have the opposite problem from us. splash tons of cash but expect manager to win the league in 2 years or fired.

Only when it's the truth. Lying bastards.

Lol well played. I just mean to say it never goes down because the TV money increases, wages and fees increase, and there is standard monetary inflation that is always rising. So it doesn't even sound like a thing anymore. If they didn't break it? Then I'd be like whoa, but it seems that every summer it's broken.
