KillaGTiR
The Daily Mail are reporting that Sir Alex Ferguson and David Moyes have agreed a fee of £1m for the transfer of goalkeeper Tim Howard in the summer. Howard is very keen on making the switch permanent and see's no future at Manchester United what with the signing of Tomasz Kuszczak and the emergence of Ben Foster
Adam
Hope its true however theres reports all over the place that Ferguson has said that Howard could have a future at UTD. Could just be that we not agreed the price and that he is saying that so we agree to there valuation or it could be something else
Bill
That seems to be a good price for him, we should snap him up for that. Might even get the money by selling Teflon, which would be a good deal all round. Edited November 29, 2006 by Licker
GoldfishMemory
For 1 million we should pay up now, cant see that being true to be honest unless Howard is out of contract next season or sumat?

comeonblueboys
ir Alex Ferguson says Tim Howard could still have a future at Old Trafford. The American goalkeeper, 27, is on a season-long loan at Everton but his improved form has prompted Sir Alex Ferguson to consider bringing him back. "Tim has been doing really well at Everton, which is what we hoped for," said Ferguson, who signed Howard on a contract until 2009. "David Moyes is delighted with Tim. But it is certainly a possibility he could come back to us, no question." A series of high-profile mistakes, the most costly of which led to a Champions League exit at the hands of Jose Mourinho's Porto in 2004, saw Howard fall out of favour with Ferguson. He spent most of last season on the bench as cover for Edwin van der Sar, but this term that role has been filled by new signing Tomasz Kuszczak. Howard has, however, flourished at Goodison Park, where he has started every Premiership match this season. "The potential has always been there because he has great elasticity, he is brave, has a good spring and is an excellent distributor of the ball," said Ferguson. "All he needed was the experience, and now he is getting it." Despite Howard's progress, Everton boss Moyes has revealed he has not yet discussed the prospect of making the American's move permanent. EFCfanatic
Man Utd will, IMO, have to sell one keeper u can't keep V der Sar, Kuszack and Howard ALL happy?????? 1million is a steal btw - i was thinking more like 3-4mill
Romey 1878
Van Der Sar will have retired within the next few years anyway though mate
thebluenose
me personally can see van der saar staying for another year at least. kuschak i know is gonna sign after this season. and im hoping that ben foster plays out of his skin every game until the end of the season. so that means united will have thier 3 keepers and we have howard permanently
Romey 1878
Ben Foster is out injured atm and is likely to need an operation, so that may fuck up your plan a bit
thebluenose
bollox. well heres hoping that fergie will find a way that doesnt involve taking howard back
Mac
There is no way on this planet SAF will let Howard go for £1m, that is ridiculous. 3.5/4m maybe. ATB Mac
fcssl
Alex Ferguson is always going to say that Tim Howard has a future at Old Trafford when he can inflate a purchase fee for his club. Moyes needs to remain strong and drive a good deal, rather than being dictated to by Man U, as we have been in the past!
Guest fozzie
For 1 million we should pay up now, cant see that being true to be honest unless Howard is out of contract next season or sumat? No way unless his contract is nearly up..another thing crossed my mind over Howard the mancs have played a good un here when you think about it,they get out on loan so he can up his games ratio for when he applies for his work permit..justa thought
Bill
???? He must already have a work permit, or he wouldnt be playing. Plus he's an International so he must have all the appropriate Paperwork....... Shouldnt he.
Romey 1878
You have to keep renewing your work permit though dont you?
Guest fozzie
You have to keep renewing your work permit though dont you? True..and howard had to get personal refenrances from USA managers/internationals just to get the permit in the first place as he hadnt played the required 75% of USA games. Romey 1878
Prob 1mill + Arteta...The Player SAF says he find's Very Interesting. The same thought crossed my mind aswell Pat, he'll ask for Arteta or Cahill

chuky_r_law
imo if we have to shell out 3mil then so be it. hes proven to be quality. although would someone please tell him to stay on his line?
fcssl
I just hope that Everton remain strong and positive and don't crumble under pressure and agree a swap deal involving Cahill or Arteta...that would be disasterous in my opinion.
RuffRob
If man U were interested in Arteta, how much does that make him worth? If he is good enough to be a Man U starter in midfeild - how much was paid for Carrick??
Romey 1878
IMO IF we were thinking of selling Arteta we should be looking at ATLEAST £15million for him, he's that important to us. If Manure want him they should put their money where their mouth is.
Rob W
i agree mark, whats the point in having cash if u lose the most important cog in your team. it would take a big outlay to replace him so we'd have to demand big money.
StevO
to be honest i dont think any price is enough, i knew EFC is a business, so the chance of huge profit has to be considered. but whats the cost of losing your most important player. if we get £20m for him would we be able to bring in a player for £20m? we wouldnt beable to attract better players if you are selling your better players, and then there is the issue of holding onto the other quality players
Willo
Back to Howard , Van Der Sar has just signed a new deal so there is no chance that Tim will be going back to Man U but we certainly will not be getting him for 1 million . Romey 1878
I have a good feeling about this now, I wasnt so sure a few weeks ago but I reckon we'll get him permanantly
