Louis
Im thinking about cycling to get myself fit - don't know anyone else who does it. If you do, do you have any advice as to how to get started etc?
Mac
Get a bike. ATB Mac
Pat
You could ride to away games & promote TT - like that bloke from is it Plymouth? My knees shudder @ the thought of cycling, but will deffo get you fit . Cycling & swimming always killed me & got in to shape.
Mac
Skip the bike and just run, better for you and it costs less. ATB Mac
Pat
Funkin trainers cost the price of a bike. I no just bought kids some newbies
Mac
Asda - £1.99, no cushioning, but f*ck em they're only kids. Skin grows back. ATB Mac

Mac
Louis, I went to Halfords to get my bike. £150.00 and it has all kinds of Gucci suspension on it more than enough for my needs. Sometimes the knee's aren't up to a run so I make do with a bike ride, MP3 on, blasting Englebert Humpadink, can't beat it. ATB Mac
Bill
If you go on freeview channel 23 and 24 (Drop down tv) you can get Bikes Half price, and trainers for next to nothing.

Louis
I'll have a look at that channel Licker I did a google and found that some people have had a bike for a pound.
Bill
A £200 bike 24 gears, suspension, and all the trimmings went for 69 pounds the other day, but its just not bikes its everything. MP3s, music centres DVD recorders. Designer Gear, trainers, jackets. They are not one off items they sell in bulk. All you have to do is ring an 0870 number on the screen and they deliver, usually within 7 days. And its all new stuff not second hand. ...............Well worth looking at. Louis
Are you sure you don't work for them? You're like me. You see something you think is good and tell everyone about it, people often reckon I'm on commission .
StevO
i used to ride about 5 years ago, st helens to widnes everyday for college. then i passed my drivin test and binned it off! i did do a couple of cross country races at leisure lakes, didnt do very well though! will get you fit though mate
fcssl
Nah, cycling is much better for you than running. Running plays havoc with peoples ankles, knees and hips. Cycling is far more enjoyable and less stressful on you! I used to cycle a good amount, however unfortunately with the wee one on the way as well as work commitments, I have let it slip recently. I have a very much loved and well looked after Trek Y3, which cost a bomb when I bought it (I think it was £950 there or there abouts) many years ago. It was worth every penny though...and when I have finished with it, I could hang it on a wall as a piece of art. lol
Louis
I'll give you £50 for it.

GoldfishMemory
If you want to get fit mate theres no better cardio workout than punching the stuffing outa a punchbag and it gets rid of all lifes little stresses too! I'm back on the jogging at the moment cos of the unfortunate accident with my punchbag being a tad too heavy for the wall I hung it off, early morning workouts see the most benifit too if you can drag yourself out the pit. I have Z cars on my CD alarm clock which works a treat
Louis
I had a go on my mums bike today ! It's blue so its alright.. I went up Calday Hill and my legs turned to jelly.. I felt a bit better for it though Dunno Liam.. I might take up boxing.. problem is I used to be skinny size 32 etc. but no im size 40 - since I was made redundant I've had nothing to do so I've just ate and ate and ate. I'm going to try and rectify this asap!

Bill
Yeah coast to coast( 207 miles ) With the missus. (fit as a fiddle ) 6 nights wild camping, 3 nights B & Bs (for the bath, bed, and breakfast) one night in Manchester and one night in Doncaster at friends houses. 11 DAYS WALKING ( about 19miles a day) and 2days travelling there and back from Hornsea, YOU CAN DO THE LOT IN TWO WEEKS. Brilliant in early summer, not too hot and some nice people on the same travel itenary. A great night out is had in Doncaster.

Pat
My womans Exercise Bike has been channeling me of late. Spooky stuff. It talks to me in whispers, then just stares. I Tell it too fuk off - but it has an indominatable steely glare. It's messing with my head.
