MikeO
Maybe a limited number of people on here interested but IMO it's nice to finally have a British tennis player with a pair of bollocks (first since Virginia Wade I think ). In the last sixteen of the Ozzie open against Rafael Nadal...it's a huge ask but if he comes through it he could easily make the final against Federer. Anyone interested (even though he's a bit of a nationalist sweaty sock)?
Andy
i love watching tennis mate, going to be extremely hard for murray, cant see him winning but hes a credit to british tennis (in all honesty i feel sorry for him being hogged by us and having to us the "british" term all the time!) hes going to be a hell of a player in a few years time if he sorts his issues and injuries out, always been a fan of andy roddick too, maybe because theyre namesakes? Romey 1878
What a match for the young lad, I hope he can beat Nadal although it is unlikely. He once being interviewed and was called British, he gave the interviewer an eat shit look and said 'im Scottish'. Bit wrong by him when most of his fans are English. MikeO
The little Scottish streak of nothing has just taken the first set . Go boy!
Bill
After looking downand out after a poor 2nd set, he's now won the third set to go 2-1 up.
MikeO
Lost it in five...think he really needed to take it in the fourth (could easily have done so...had chances and don't forget he was 4-1 up in the second)...fifth was beyond him. Bit of a British thing to say but he really did put in a hell of a performance. He'll win a grand slam before long I reckon, and be in the top five this year. Hes only young and is improving almost daily, Nadal has got a few years on him experiance wise Pity Love the tennis me, spent two weeks as a court coverer on No1 at Wimbledon in 1989, best two weeks ever, my claim to fame was that I was on a question of sport. I'm up for most sports really..except gymnastics, ice skating, synchro swimming and pretty much anything involving a horse . He's not from this country. The lad gave it his all, I agree he'll be in the top 5 soon enough and win a Grand Slam, afterall he's already beaten Federer before now. Bill
Needs to work on his stamina, he has a tendency to run out of puff. But he did play well and he's only n n n n n 19.
Romey 1878
He needs to work on his first serve aswell, his percentage for getting them in is fucking terrible
MikeO
He's not from this country. He is if you call yourself British...no matter what he chooses to call himself . Plays Davis Cup for us...good enough for me. Edited January 22, 2007 by mikeo
SimonButtle
surely anythings better than those inane shouts of "Come on Tim" all the f-in time, good luck to the boy, and like Licker said he is only n n n n n 19.so plenty time to improve. Couldn't agree more. Henman was a very good player who brought British tennis out of the laughing stock league...won a lot of big tournaments, was number four in the world at best and should have won Wimbledon the year Ivanisovic did. But he was never going to be great and he was just such a fucking pansy!

I was only 17 and in the army, my troop from the Royal Signal was picked to be court coverers and we stayed at a near by TA base, we didnt get much time to socialise outside Wimbledon itself, but there was plenty to do and see during the day for an over excited hot blooded desparet teenager AHH, Monica Selles age

Mac
Murray?, f*ck him. Money from the LTA (predominantly ENGLISH) provided the ingrate with much needed funding to allow him to persue what is basically a public schoolgirls sport. So he can kiss my big, dangly, hairy bollocks and I hope he gets battered every time he plays. I feel better after that, and before anyone says "but he is British, it is your patriotic duty to support him", bollocks to that. How many of us cheer the RS on when they play in Europe?. MikeO
There's gotta be a thread there...Brits I dislike(d) enough to put my patriotism aside...for me... David Coultard Joe Bugner (when he was a Brit) Steve Davies Steven Hendry (separated from Coultard at birth?) Jonathan Edwards Naseem Hammed Chris Eubanks Liverpool ManU Leeds United Steven Backley Buster Mottram (long time ago) Sure there's loads more but that's a quick sample .
