jofanon Posted January 29, 2008 Report Posted January 29, 2008 Pointless question I know. And yes I know we don't have money. But.....everyone is talking about buying somone special to get us to the next level. Who would you chose? For me; David Villa. He's awesome! Quote
saaby Posted January 29, 2008 Report Posted January 29, 2008 (edited) mm yes id guess villa would be great but id rather go for a talented young midfielder Giovani dos Santos have u seen him play awsome only 18 and starts every week for barcelona he also can play foward Edited January 29, 2008 by saaby Quote
jacko 1990 Posted January 29, 2008 Report Posted January 29, 2008 Why dont u name a player that we actually have a chhance of getting, and their is thread xtremly similar to this in the rumours sectiion. but it would have to be a defensive CM of left winger with a left foot. Quote
CraccerC Posted January 29, 2008 Report Posted January 29, 2008 its 1 of 3, ronaldo, messi, david silva Quote
StevO Posted January 29, 2008 Report Posted January 29, 2008 Guardado, not doing too mad this season, played 20, scored 5, 5 assists. only cost 6m euro last summer. if were talking crazy money, Rooney Quote
jofanon Posted January 29, 2008 Author Report Posted January 29, 2008 if were talking crazy money, Rooney Controversial! Quote
StevO Posted January 29, 2008 Report Posted January 29, 2008 not really, hes an outstanding player! all the crap about him leaving is a waste of time to me Quote
Bill Posted January 29, 2008 Report Posted January 29, 2008 Players will always move on, Catterick sold Alan Ball cos he got £200.000 for him after paying 100.000 for him, Good business is the reason he said he sold him, he said he didnt want to leave Everton Board sold Duncan Ferguson for £8 million without the Managers knowedge or approval, good business is what they put it down to cos they were short of money. Dunc was devastated and said he didnt want to leave. The difference in the Rooney Transfer is that he did want to leave, and did everything possible to get the move, was offered a £50.000 a week contract at 17 years old, the highest contract in Evertons history and turned it down, and for the £22 million pounds we got for his transfer, forget the £30 million that everybody quotes everything else was add ons which we are never likely to get, £22 million was not a good bit of business. I will admit he's a very good player but would i like to see him back here.?? would i fook he's a shithouse. Quote
EFCfanatic Posted January 29, 2008 Report Posted January 29, 2008 Rooney?...Your having a laugh. Riquelme for me. No smoke without fire (regarding website!) Quote
Everton_Worshiper Posted January 29, 2008 Report Posted January 29, 2008 Erm....yep I agree, if money was no object then Rooney or Ronaldo even though I hate them both. Quote

CraccerC Posted January 30, 2008 Report Posted January 30, 2008 Yeh there was only 1 slight snag to that formerly proposed deal. He didnt wanna come. i thought we pulled out of the deal? after nyarko and all that Quote
Bill Posted January 30, 2008 Report Posted January 30, 2008 I doubt if we were ever interested, Not at that price............. In August 2005, Essien declared that he would "go on strike" against Lyon because of the club's refusal to accept a transfer bid for him from English Premiership champions Chelsea. It was announced on 14 August that Lyon and Chelsea had agreed a £26m fee for the Ghanaian, finally ending one of the longest running transfer sagas in recent English football history. Essien is now Chelsea's second most expensive signing after the club signed Ukraine forward and captain Andriy Shevchenko from A.C. Milan on 22 May 2006. Quote
CraccerC Posted January 30, 2008 Report Posted January 30, 2008 we were interest a couple of years previously for a fee (if i remember correctly) nearer to 4 mil Quote
Romey 1878 Posted January 30, 2008 Report Posted January 30, 2008 we were interest a couple of years previously for a fee (if i remember correctly) nearer to 4 mil Aye. He didn't come because he wanted an extra year in France. Quote
Pat Posted January 30, 2008 Report Posted January 30, 2008 Yeh the spin was need another year to progress develop or along those lines, with the likely truth being, ill play my cards close to my chest & see who may come in 4 me later. Am sure Juventus n others were sniffing @ the same time. He didnt make a bad decison in a personal sense. Am sure Mr Essien is happy with his career direction. Quote
jofanon Posted January 31, 2008 Author Report Posted January 31, 2008 He's a fantastic player. Would love him here. Never ever, ever going to happen though boohoo! Quote
