    A 92 year old widower's blog http://greycavalier.wordpress.com/
'One month ago I lost my dear wife, Mima. And after sixty seven years of happily married life together I find it hard to come to terms with my loss. However my grandson who lives in Switzerland is taking me there for a few weeks to recuperate. I intend to make the best of things, try to forget my pains (at least for a while), and visit some of the lovely scenery and mountains in that country. I’ve seen many photographs, now that I received my first ever passport a few weeks ago I can now experience it for myself.
I would like to share my adventures with you, and at the end of it I hope to feel a lot better. I hope you enjoy what follows.'

Fucking hell can you imagine, sitting there watching that awful program, Everton losing and Liverpool getting a victory, and analysis from two or three boring, mundane and nauseating "individuals". The Television would be out of the nearest window before end of broadcast.

I'm just going to divorce myself for the rest of the day with 'this weeks footy' Fuck that.

Over the last month I became a victim of a clever scam while out shopping. Simply going out to get supplies has turned out to be quite traumatic. Don't be naive enough to think it couldn't happen to you.

Here's how the scam works: Two seriously good-looking 19-year-old girls come over to your car as you are packing your shopping items into the trunk.

They both start wiping your windshield with a rag and Windex, with their breasts almost falling out of their skimpy T-shirts.

It is impossible not to look.

When you thank them and offer them a tip, they say "No" and instead ask you for a ride to another Home Depot.

You agree and they both climb in the passenger seat, one sitting on the other's lap.

On the way, they start kissing each other ...

Then one of them turns to you to perform oral sex with you, while the other one steals your wallet.

I had my wallet stolen March 11th, 13th, twice on the 15th, on the 17th, 20th, April 3rd, 7th, 16th, two times just yesterday, and very likely again this upcoming weekend as soon as I can buy some more wallets.

    Just a friendly warning.

If it makes you feel better, there's so much about England (and Europe in general) that makes me jealous. I mean, holy shit we had George W. Bush in charge for eight years. Fourty percent of our country believes the earth is only 2-3 thousand years old and thinks evolution is a myth. The Republican party nearly nominated Rick Santorum, a guy who believes that only Christians are entitled to free speech and claimed he wanted to make the US the Christian version of Iran, but instead opted for Mitt Romney, a guy who believes the Garden of Eden was located in Missouri and that magic underwear protected him from evil demons. I'd gladly take the Monarchy if it meant we could get rid of the Republican party and all of its bullshit.

I love him but I'd take £7million for him. I wouldn't mind Lescott coming in on loan, like you said, and then from next season give Duffy more of a go. We'll never know if he can make it at this level if he's not given the opportunity.

Why is it such a big issue with Heitinga?

He isn't playing for a 3rd division team, and not getting a game. He is playing for a strong Premiership club, with 'other' top professionals, who just happen to be in better form than 'he' is. Surely the answer is to play better, and win your place back, rather than play poorly, and be disappointed that you are not first choice.

When he has played this season, he has been inconsistent. We have a squad, and all players within that squad have the same opportunity to prove themselves when picked. Since he arrived, we've seen nothing but Prima Donna articles, so if he wants to leave, sell him, and put the money towards a player who offers us more.

After watching the game on football first, i have to agree with Pete, Ossie was really impressive today so he gets my vote.

    1) Osman
    2)Baines
    3)Pienaar
    4)Gibson
    5)Chebe's

Jelavic looked really really poor today which is slightly worrying and he went for the ball after chebe's header with his hand which we dont like to see, hope he sorts it out for the Wigan game..

Also, none of the commentators mentioned how Noble went down like he had been shot when Gibson caught him but Baines got straight back up after his incedent... Cant stand West Ham.

A few young, talented players in the Portuguese league right now. Porto have James Rodriguez, who you're probably aware of, and there's also Christian Atsu. He's a very skillful winger, made his debut for Ghana earlier this year.

Benfica also have a couple of very good prospects. Ola John and Rodrigo are the most exciting ones. Rodrigo actually had a spell at Bolton on loan if memory serves me correctly. Wouldn't surprise me to see him called up by Spain over the next couple of years. He's been scoring plenty of goals for their U21s.

Sporting are going through a pretty bad patch at the moment, however their academy is still as strong as ever. This season saw the introduction of B teams in the Portuguese league, and Sporting B were running away with the second tier at one point (they're in second place now). Besides Eric Dier, obviously, other very promising players include Bruma, Esgaio and Diego Rubio. Remember the names people.

There isn't a whole lot to say about this game that you couldn't say about our previous few games.

We were excellent in the first half; dominated the ball but had very little cutting edge, and a refereeing decision cost us. At least it wasn't us giving the opposition a free goal! We are badly struggling to create chances at the moment. How many chances did Jelavic have in the whole game? I can only remember the free kick he had in the second half, and that wasn't exactly a created chance was it? The sooner we get back to creating a hatful of chances the better.

Second half we did our usual no show. How we managed to go from controlling the ball to not being able to pass 5 yards to a team mate is madness. It was like watching a completely different side. I knew we'd be put under pressure from City in the second half but there's no excuse for how bad our football got. Thankfully the defence was, for the most part, solid as a rock and is the reason we managed to come away with a point because I was feeling it was only a matter of time until City got a second. We had no out ball because we dropped so deep and brought everyone back behind the ball. So we'd clear (hoof) the ball away and it'd just come back at us.

Howard - I felt he could have helped the defenders out a bit more by coming for some balls put into the box. Wasn't called upon to make many saves due to the CB's infront of him.

Hibbert - I'm surprised he didn't get absolutely murdered because Naismith hung him out to dry by leaving him up against two City players all the time. But he stood up well to the pressure and managed to handle everything that was thrown at him.

Jagielka - Had a stonking game, a rock at the heart of our defence. He made clearing header after clearing header, shepherded Dzeko and Tevez, made blocks. He barely put a foot wrong.

Distin - Not quite as good as Jagielka due to dwelling on the ball a bit (which he is prone to do) but a good game nevertheless, and it looks like the partnership may finally be coming together.

Baines - I think he was alright in the first half; linked up well with Pienaar but, I dunno, I just felt there was something missing from his performance. He did get an assist with a great delivery though.

Naismith - Terrible. As I've already said, he was no help to Hibbert at all, his passing was all over the place, knocked off the ball far too easily.

Gibson - Showed exactly why we'd been missing him. He had a fantastic game. He covered so much ground and made countless interceptions and broke up play infront of the defence immensely. My MOTM.

Osman - I thought it was another average showing from Ossie tbh and he again didn't really make an impression on the game for me.

Pienaar - Keep growing that hair Stevie! With each passing game he's getting better. There were far fewer sloppy passes and he looked the most likely of our attacking players to make something happen.

Fellaini - I don't think he was quite at the top of his game but his top game is that good that even when he falls below that level he's still pretty damn good. He didn't retain possession as well as we know he can do but he was still effective and was handful for City's defenders even if he didn't manage to dominate things as much as usual. And even got another goal to add to his tally.

Jelavic - Fellaini being the vocal point of our attacks is damaging his game. Just look at yesterday and how often he was having to play miles away from the goal with his back to goal because we want to launch the ball to Fellaini and go from there. When we didn't try and hit Fellaini and aimed toward Jelavic instead he had no chance of winning the aerial balls with Kompany et al. In the second half we stil tried this game and it was even worse because now Jelavic wa isolated and being asked to win the ball barely in City's half! He hardly had a sniff at goal all game long.

I've counted 12 points. This would be massive for over a season, the fact its under 2/5 of the way through shows something needs to be changed immediately.

Sure we were terrible in the second half, but every other damn team on an off day seems to be given the opportunity to get across the line fairly when decent, standard refereeing of a match is implemented. So why arent we given that basic right?? It seems like we have to flog a team beyond reasonable doubt to get the three points with some officials because we are just robbed of rightful calls by officials.

Newcastle, Wigan and now Reading. I hate complaining about refs, I hate it when other people complain about refs, but at the end of the day you shouldn't fucking have to because if I can see a foul or a handball in the box on the other side of the planet via a damn box, why can't the damn trained professional who is ten yards away!?

2 points each against Newcastle and Wigan, 3 against Reading, we should be tied with Man City on 27 points, 1 point off the pace. Instead we're sitting below fucking West Brom on 20.

Excuse my language, apologies if anyone is offended but I can't stand refereeing deciding the outcome of sport.

Ok, what have we got. Game over and a defeat from a game we really didn't deserve to lose and another shit performance in general from a match official, that was less than impartial ?

I thought before time, today would be tricky, but never expected to be beaten.

Really missed out on a chance today to keep that grip on 4th place and some other sides in the vicinity also dropped points.

Reading got their first win of the season today, at our expense.

It's still only two defeats for us all season but today was hard to take and not the first time either at 90 minutes we have been spitting fucking feathers.

Disappointed, frustrated, a bit fed up, another lousy afternoon with wasted potential.
